Claims
- 1. A composition having the formula ##STR19## wherein Z is a monovalent lactamo radical.
- 2. A composition according to claim 1 wherein Z is epsilon-caprolactamo.
- 3. A method for silylating an active-hydrogen-containing compound which comprises mixing a compound comprising at least one active hydrogen atom directly bonded to a heteroatom selected from the group consisting of oxygen, sulfur and nitrogen and a silylating agent having the formula ##STR20## wherein Z is a monovalent lactamo radical, whereby a compound comprising at least one radical of the formula ##STR21## directly bonded to said heteroatom is obtained.
- 4. A method according to claim 3 wherein the active-hydrogen-containing compound is a carbon-containing compound.
- 5. A method according to claim 3 wherein the active-hydrogen-containing compound is a silicon-containing compound and the heteroatom bearing the active hydrogen atom is also bonded directly to a silicon atom of the silicon-containing compound.
- 6. A method according to claim 3 wherein the silylating agent is methylsilacyclopentenyl-epsilon-caprolactam.
