Claims
- 1. A microscope slide so configured with a raised portion at one end thereof that a plurality of such slides are stackable without extended area contact between them for substantially scratch-free packaging, said slide comprising:
- a flat glass plate on which said raised portion is a marking surface for holding and retaining a marking formed of a coating of a resinous material on said glass plate,
- said resinous material including a granular medium to impart porosity to said coating and a pigment to provide visual contrast to said coating to enhance visibility of the marking to be placed thereon,
- said raised marking surface being effective to provide a barrier to prevent the spread of liquid sample, placed upon said slide, onto said marking surface.
- 2. A microscope slide having at least one raised marking surface for holding and retaining a marking formed by a coating of a fluid resinous material which dries to a permanent matte finish, said resinous material including a pigment and a granular medium.
- 3. A mocroscope slide having at least one raised marking surface for holding and retaining a marking made of a resinous material, said resinous material being fluidly applied to said slide and allowed to dry, said resinous material including a pigment and a granular medium for porosity and a permanent matte finish.
- 4. A microscope slide having at least one raised marking surface for holding and retaining a marking formed by the application of fluid resinous material which is allowed to dry, said resinous material including a granular medium to impart porosity and permanent matte finish to said marking surface.
- 5. A plurality of microscope slides stacked such that top surface of one side is adjacent the bottom surface of the adjacent slide within a package, each of said plurality of microscope slides having means for preventing extended area contact between successive slides to avoid mutual abrasion thereof, said means comprising at least one raised marking surface at one end thereof for holding and retaining a marking, said raised marking surface being formed by a coating of a fluid resinous material having a pigment and a granular medium which is allowed to dry to a matte finish.
- 6. A plurality of microspope slides stacked such that top surface of one side is adjacent the bottom surface of the adjacent slide within a package, each of said plurality of microscope slides having means for preventing extended area contact between successive slides to avoid mutual abrasion thereof, said means comprising at least one raised marking surface at one end thereof for holding and retaining a marking, said raised marking surface being formed by a coating of a fluid resinous material which is allowed to dry, said resinous material including a granular medium to impart porosity and a permanent matte finish to said marking surface.
