Claims
- 1. A granular material applicator for mixing granular material with air prior to microwave insecticide treatment of the granular material in a main applicator chamber, the applicator comprising:an entry section having an inlet of a first cross-sectional area and an outlet of a second cross-sectional area that is larger than the first cross-sectional area; and a grain diffuser disposed in the entry section between the inlet and the outlet, and the grain distributor defines a plurality of grain flow orifices.
- 2. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the entry section is conical in shape.
- 3. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the entry section is conical in shape, and the inlet and outlet define circular cross-sectional areas.
- 4. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the grain diffuser is conical in shape.
- 5. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the grain diffuser includes a plurality of inverted truncated cones of increasing diameter and defining annular grain flow orifices therebetween.
- 6. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the grain diffuser is adjustable between the inlet and outlet.
- 7. The granular material applicator of claim 1, wherein the grain diffuser includes a plurality of inverted truncated cones of increasing diameter and defining annular grain flow orifices, and the inverted truncated cones are maintained in a spaced relationship by spaces radially spaced around the annular grain flow orifices.
