Claims
- 1. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) an outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation, having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an interior space therein, and resembling a playball configuration; and
- (b) a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space for introducing corn kernels within said interior space, said outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said interior space and fill said outer casing, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible through said reclosable opening for consumption.
- 2. The microwave popcorn container of claim 1, wherein at least a portion of said outer casing bears a microwave-energy interactive structure for converting microwave radiation into heat or for reflecting microwave radiation within said interior space.
- 3. A microwave popcorn container for popping and serving popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) an outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation, having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an interior space therein, and having a predetermined configuration; and
- (b) a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space for introducing corn kernels within said interior space, said outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said interior space and fill said outer casing, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities, and wherefrom said said popped corn kernels are dispensible through said reclosable opening for consumption.
- 4. The microwave popcorn container of claim 3, wherein at least a portion of said outer casing bears a microwave-energy interactive structure for converting microwave radiation into heat for reflecting microwave radiation within said interior space.
- 5. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises;
- (a) a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space therein; and
- (b) a reclosable opening in said flexible outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said expandable interior space for introducing corn kernels within said expandable interior space, said flexible outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into a playball configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities when filled with said popped corn kernels and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible through said reclosable opening for consumption.
- 6. The microwave popcorn container of claims 5, wherein said reclosable opening comprises an elongated slit formed in said flexible outer casing, and a slit closure means operably associated with said elongated slit.
- 7. The microwave popcorn container of claim 6, wherein said slit closure means is a zipper fastener or a hook-and-loop type fastener.
- 8. The microwave popcorn container of claim 7, wherein said flexible outer casing assumes an elongated football configuration when expanded by popped corn kernels contained within said expandable interior space.
- 9. The microwave popcorn container of claim 8, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible sheet material which are seamed together.
- 10. The microwave popcorn container of claim 8, wherein said reclosable opening comprises an elongated slit formed in said outer casing and a slit closure device operably associated with said elongated slit.
- 11. The microwave popcorn container of claim 10, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from plastic, paper, composite material or fabric material.
- 12. The microwave popcorn container of claim 9, which further comprises:
- (a) means for venting to ambient atmosphere, vapor released from popped corn kernels bursted within said expandable interior space.
- 13. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) a flexible outer casing transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space therein; and
- (b) a reclosable opening in said flexible outer casing permitting reclosable access in to said expandable interior space for introducing corn kernels within said expandable interior space, said flexible outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into a predetermined configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play acitivities when filled with popped corn kernels, and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible through said reclosable opening for consumption.
- 14. The microwave popcorn container of claim 13, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from flexible material, and at least a portion of said flexible outer casing bears a microwave-energy interactive structure for conversion of microwave radiation into heat or for reflection of microwave radiation within said expandable interior space.
- 15. The microwave popcorn container of claim 13, wherein said reclosable opening comprises an elongated slit formed in said flexible outer casing and a slit closure means operably associated with said elongated slit.
- 16. The microwave popcorn container of claim 15 wherein said slit closure means is a zipper fastener or a hook-and-loop type fastener.
- 17. The microwave popcorn container of claim 16, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible sheet material which are seamed together.
- 18. The microwave popcorn container of claim 17, wherein said flexible sheet material is formed from plastic paper, composite material or fabric material.
- 19. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space therein; and
- (b) a quantity of corn kernels contained within said expandable interior space of said flexible outer casing, said flexible outer casing being postionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into an elongated football configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities when filled with said popped corn kernels, and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible for consumption.
- 20. The microwave popcorn container of claim 19, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed form flexible material, and at least a portion of flexible outer casing bears a microwave-energy absorbing structure for converting microwave radiation into heat or for reflecting microwave radiation within said flexible internal space.
- 21. The microwave popcorn container of claim 20, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible sheet material which are seamed together.
- 22. The microwave popcorn container of claim 21, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from plastic, paper, composite material or fabric material.
- 23. The microwave popcorn container of claim 22 which further comprises:
- (a) means for venting to ambient atmosphere, vapor released from popped corn kernels bursted within said expandable interior space.
- 24. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space therein; and
- (b) a quantity of corn kernels contained within said expandable interior space of said flexible outer casing, said flexible outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into a substantially spherical configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play acitivities when filled with said popped corn kernels, and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible for consumption.
- 25. The microwave popcorn container of claim 24, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from flexible material, and at least a portion of said flexible outer casing bearing a microwave-energy interactive structure for converting of microwave radiation into heat for reflecting microwave radiation within said flexible outer casing.
- 26. The microwave popcorn container of claim 25, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible sheet material which are seamed together.
- 27. The microwave popcorn container of claim 26, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from plastic, paper, composite material or fabric material.
- 28. The microwave popcorn container of claim 24 which further comprises:
- (a) means for venting to ambient atmosphere, vapor released from corn kernels bursted within said expandable interior space.
- 29. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior surface therein; and
- (b) a quantity of corn kernels contained within said expandable interior space of said flexible outer casing, said flexible outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into a predetermined configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities when filled with said popped corn kernels, and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensible for consumption.
- 30. The microwave popcorn container of claim 29, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible sheet material which are seamed together.
- 31. The microwave popcorn container of claim 30, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from plastic, paper, composite material or fabric material.
- 32. The microwave popcorn container of claim 29, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed from flexible material, and at least a portion of said flexible outer casing bears a microwave energy interactive structure for converting of microwave radiation into heat or for reflecting microwave radiation within said expandable interior space.
- 33. A method of preparing a microwave popcorn container for recreational use, comprising the sequence of steps:
- (a) providing a microwave popcorn container including a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space and a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space, said expandable interior space containing a sufficient amount of corn kernels which when popped expands said flexible outer casing into an elongated football configuration;
- (b) placing said microwave popcorn container within a microwave oven;
- (c) activating said microwave oven for a preselected time period so that microwave radiation is generated inside said microwave oven and said microwave popcorn container and corn kernels contained therein are exposed to said microwave radiation, whereby corn kernels burst into popcorn in said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into said elongated football configuration;
- (d) removing said microwave popcorn container from said microwave oven; and
- (e) using said microwave popcorn container in recreational activity when filled with said popcorn and dispensing said popcorn from said expandable interior space for consumption when desired.
- 34. A method of preparing a microwave popcorn container for recreational use, comprising the sequence of steps:
- (a) providing a microwave popcorn container including a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation, and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space and a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space, said expandable interior space containing a sufficient amount of corn kernels which when popped expands said flexible outer casing into a predetermined configuration;
- (b) placing said microwave popcorn container within a microwave oven;
- (c) activating said microwave oven for a preselected time period so that microwave radiation is generated inside said microwave oven and said flexible outer casing and said corn kernels are exposed to said microwave radiation, whereby corn kernels burst into popcorn in said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into said configuration;
- (d) removing said microwave popcorn container from said microwave oven; and
- (e) using said microwave popcorn container in recreational activity when filled with said popcorn and dispensing said popcorn from said expandable interior space for consumption when desired.
- 35. A method of preparing a microwave popcorn container for recreational use, comprising the sequence of steps:
- (a) providing a microwave popcorn container including a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an expandable interior space and a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space, said expandable interior space containing a sufficient amount of corn kernels which when popped expand said flexible outer casing into a substantially spherical configuration;
- (b) placing said microwave popcorn container within a microwave oven;
- (c) activating said microwave oven for a preselected time period so that microwave radiation is generated inside said microwave oven and said flexible outer casing and said corn kernels are exposed to said microwave radiation, whereby corn kernels burst into popcorn in said expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into said substantially spherical configuration;
- (d) removing said microwave popcorn container from said microwave oven; and
- (e) using said microwave popcorn container in recreational activity when filled with popcorn and dispensing said popcorn from said expandable interior space for consumption when desired.
- 36. A method of preparing a microwave popcorn container for recreational use, comprising the sequence of steps:
- (a) providing a microwave popcorn container including an outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an interior space and a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space, said microwave popcorn container resembling a playball configuration and including a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space;
- (b) introducing a selected amount of corn kernels into said interior space, through said reclosable opening;
- (c) closing said reclosable opening so that said corn kernels are contained in said interior space;
- (d) placing said microwave popcorn container within a microwave oven;
- (e) activating said microwave oven for a preselected time period so that microwave radiation is generated inside said microwave oven and said microwave popcorn container and said corn kernels are exposed to microwave radiation, whereby corn kernels burst into popcorn in said interior space filling said outer casing;
- (f) removing said microwave popcorn container from said microwave oven; and
- (g) using said microwave popcorn container in recreational activity and dispensing said popcorn from said interior space for consumption when desired.
- 37. A method of preparing a microwave popcorn container for recreational use, comprising the sequence of steps:
- (a) providing a microwave popcorn container including an outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining an interior space, said microwave popcorn container resembling a predetermined configuration and including a reclosable opening in said outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said interior space;
- (b) introducing a selected amount of corn kernels into said interior space, through said reclosable opening;
- (c) closing said reclosable opening so that said corn kernels are contained in said interior space;
- (d) placing said microwave popcorn container within a microwave oven;
- (e) activating said microwave oven for a preselected time period so that microwave radiation is generated inside said microwave oven and said outer casing and said corn kernels are exposed to said microwave radiation, whereby corn kernels burst into popcorn in said interior space filling said outer casing;
- (f) removing said microwave popcorn container from said microwave oven; and
- (g) using said microwave popcorn container in recreational activity and dispensing said popcorn from said interior space for consumption when desired.
- 38. A microwave popcorn container for popping and dispensing popcorn and recreational use, which comprises:
- (a) a flexible outer casing substantially transparent to microwave radiation, and having an exterior surface and an interior surface for defining a vacant expandable interior space therein, said flexible outer casing having a non-expanded configuration prior to said vacant expandable interior space being filled with popped corn kernels; and
- (b) a reclosable opening in said flexible outer casing for permitting reclosable access into said vacant expandable interior space for introducing corn kernels within said vacant expandable interior space, said flexible outer casing being positionable within a microwave oven in order to expose said corn kernels to microwave radiation and cause said corn kernels to burst into popped corn kernels within said vacant expandable interior space and expand said flexible outer casing into a playball configuration, whereby said microwave popcorn container is usable in play activities when filled with said popped corn kernels and wherefrom said popped corn kernels are dispensable through said reclosable opening for consumption.
- 39. The microwave popcorn container of claim 38, wherein said reclosable opening comprises an elongated slit formed in said flexible outer casing, and a slit closure means operably associated with said elongated slit.
- 40. The microwave popcorn container of claim 39, wherein said slit closure means is a zipper fastener or a hook-and-loop type fastener.
- 41. The microwave popcorn container of claim 40, wherein said flexible outer casing forms an elongated football configuration when expanded by popcorn contained with said vacant expandable interior space.
- 42. The microwave popcorn container of claim 41, wherein said flexible outer casing is formed by interfitting pieces of flexible washable sheet material which are seamed together.
- 43. The microwave popcorn container of claim 41, wherein said reclosable opening comprises an elongated slit formed in said outer casing and a slit closure device operably associated with said elongated slit.
- 44. The microwave popcorn container of claim 42, wherein said flexible washable material is fabric material.
- 45. The microwave popcorn container of claim 42, which further comprises:
- means for venting to ambient atmosphere, vapor released from said popped corn kernels produced within said vacant expandable interior space.
