Claims
- 1. A power wheelchair comprising:
a. a frame; b. a seat having cushion and back portions for respectively supporting a wheelchair user's thighs and buttocks and the wheelchair user's back so that said wheelchair user is positioned in a seated upright position with the wheelchair user's cranial center of perception located above drive wheels of said power wheelchair; c. said drive wheels being rotatable about transverse axes below a central portion of said seat.
- 2. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are at substantially a common longitudinal location with said center of cranial perception when said wheelchair user occupies said seat.
- 3. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel transverse axes are below a central portion of said cushion.
- 4. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are forward of said back portion of said seat.
- 5. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are longitudinally forward of the wheelchair user's cranial center of perception when the wheelchair user is positioned in a seated upright position on said seat.
- 6. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are substantially at a common longitudinal location with the eyes of the wheelchair user when said wheelchair user is occupying said seat.
- 7. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are longitudinally intermediate of the power wheelchair user's center of cranial perception and control joystick by which the power wheelchair user controls said power wheelchair.
- 8. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said wheelchair user's cranial center of perception is at substantially a common longitudinal location with the center of gravity of said power wheelchair when unoccupied.
- 9. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are longitudinally forward of the wheelchair user's eyes when the wheelchair user is positioned in a seated upright position on said seat.
- 10. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said drive wheel axes are longitudinally intermediate of the power wheelchair user's eyes and control joystick by which the power wheelchair user controls said power wheelchair.
- 11. The power wheelchair of claim 1 wherein said wheelchair user's eye is at substantially a common longitudinal location with the center of gravity of said power wheelchair when unoccupied.
