The disclosure and prior art relates to work tables and more particularly pertains to a new work table for providing an ideal work table for a miter saw.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a table body that has a bottom side separated from a top side, a right side separated from a left side, and a front side separated from a back side defining a table inside. The top side has a saw depression extending towards the bottom side and extending from the front side to the back side. The saw depression is configured to receive a miter saw. The table body has a cord aperture extending through to the table inside. The bottom side is configured to rest on a pair of saw horses. At least one outlet panel is coupled to the table body. The outlet panel comprises a mounting plate and a plurality of outlets. The outlet panel is coupled within the mounting plate and extends through the front side into the table inside. A power cord is coupled to the outlet panel. The power cord is in operational communication with the plurality of outlets and extends through the cord aperture.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The bottom wall 38 has a set of four mounting holes 46 configured to receive a plurality of fasteners 48 to fix the miter saw 36 in place. The table body 12 has a cord aperture 50 extending through the left side 20 to the table inside 26 adjacent the bottom side 14 and the back side 24. The bottom side 14 is configured to rest on a pair of saw horses 52. At least one outlet panel 54 is coupled to the table body 12, and the outlet panel 54 comprises a mounting plate 56 and a plurality of outlets 58. The plurality of outlets 58 may be a set of four outlets 58 arranged in a square pattern. The plurality of outlets 58 provides power for the miter saw 36 and for other power tools. The outlet panel 54 is coupled within the mounting plate 56 and extends through the front side 22 into the table inside 26. The at least one outlet panel 54 may be a pair of outlet panels 54 comprising a left outlet panel 60 coupled between the saw depression 34 and the left side 20 and a right outlet panel 62 coupled between the saw depression 34 and the right side 18. A power cord 64 is coupled to the outlet panel 54. The power cord 64 comprises a splitter 66 coupled within the table inside 26 adjacent the cord aperture 50. A main cord 68 is coupled to the splitter 66 and extends through the cord aperture 50. A first extension cord 70 is coupled to the splitter 66 and to the left outlet panel 60, and a second extension cord 72 is coupled to the splitter 66 and to the right outlet panel 62. The power cord 64 is in operational communication with the plurality of outlets 58.
In use, the user places the miter saw 36 in the saw depression 34 and connects it to one of the plurality of outlets 58. The main cord 68 is plugged into a wall outlet 74. and the miter saw 36 may then be used normally with the top side 16 securing wood on either side of the miter saw 36.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
