Claims
- 1. A mixer system for combining material of post-vulcanized cross-linked elastomers with any of tall oil, fatty acids and residues of tall oil production (collectively “oil”) to form a dry liquid concentrate which flows, comprising:
a tank having a mixing chamber, said tank including a heater mounted to heat the contents of said mixing chamber; a mixer mounted in said tank and extending into said mixing chamber, said mixer including a seal sealing said mixing chamber; a feed port mounted on said tank and adapted to feed the elastomers into said mixing chamber; a vacuum pump mounted to said tank adapted to evacuate said mixing chamber of vapor and gas; a discharge port mounted on said tank and adapted to discharge the material from said mixing chamber; a pump to feed the oil to said mixing chamber; a pressure controller to select pressure maintenance of vapor and gas resulting from heat from said heater acting on the material in said mixing chamber and vacuum for evacuating vapor and gas from said mixing chamber.
- 2. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein said seal acts when said mixer is operating.
- 3. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein said mixer provides mixing action of the material that is low shear with medium intensity.
- 4. The mixer system of claim 1, where said mixer contributes low heat from friction to the material.
- 5. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein said heater has the capacity to raise the temperature in said mixing chamber to at least 250° F.
- 6. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein said heater has the capacity to raise the temperature in said mixing chamber to at least 400° F.
- 7. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein said heater has the capacity to raise the temperature in said mixing chamber to between 250° F. and 400° F.
- 8. The mixer system of claim 1, wherein there is further provided a bin sized to receive the elastomers and adapted to empty the elastomers into said mixing chamber by said feed ports.
