Claims
- 1. A mixture of esters of para amino benzoic acid and ascorbic acid.
- 2. The mixture of claim 1 wherein the esters are two or more esters of para amino benzoic acid selected from the group consisting of and ascorbic acid: ##STR8##
- 3. The mixture of claim 1 wherein the esters are two or more esters of para amino benzoic acid and ascorbic acid selected from the group consisting of: ##STR9##
- 4. The mixture of claim 1 wherein the esters are produced by reacting para nitrobenzoyl chloride with ascorbic acid in a suitable solvent to obtain nitro esters; isolating the nitro esters; and reducing the nitro groups to obtain the mixture of esters.
- 5. The mixture of claim 4 wherein the nitro groups are reduced by a reducing agent of zinc, hydrochloric acid, or lithium aluminum borohydride.
- 6. The mixture of claim 4 wherein the solvent is pyridine or triethanolamine.
- 7. The mixture of claim 2 wherein the esters are produced by reacting para nitrobenzoyl chloride with ascorbic acid in a solvent of pyridine or triethanolamine to obtain nitro esters and subsequently reducing the nitro groups with a reducing agent.
- 8. The mixture of claim 7 wherein the nitro groups are reduced by a reducing agent of zinc, hydrochloric acid, or lithium aluminum bromide.
- 9. The mixture of claim 3 wherein the esters are produced by reacting para nitro benzoyl chloride with ascorbic acid in a solvent of pyridine or triethanol amine to obtain nitro esters and reducing the nitro groups with a reducing agent.
- 10. The mixture of claim 9 wherein the nitro groups are reduced by a reducing agent of zinc, hydrochloric acid, or lithium aluminum bromide.
- 11. A mixture of esters of para amino benzoic acid and ascorbic acid produced by reacting para nitrobenzoyl chloride with ascorbic acid in a solvent of pyridine or triethanolamine to obtain nitro esters, isolating the nitro esters, and reducing the nitro groups with zinc, hydrochloric acid, or lithium aluminum borohydride to obtain the mixture of esters.
