Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

1. Field of the Invention

The present invention relates to an air conditioner, especially to a mobile air conditioner being movably used indoors.

2. Description of Related Art

In general, a conventional mobile air conditioner 10 is as shown in FIGS. 7 and 8. A vent 12 is formed on a back side of the mobile air conditioner 10. Four wheels 14 are mounted under a bottom of the mobile air conditioner 10. A user can move the mobile air conditioner 10 to a required position.

When the mobile air conditioner 10 works, hot air in the mobile air conditioner 10 should be discharged and dissipated from the vent 12. In practical use, a tube 70 may be connected to the vent 12. The hot air flows from the tube 70 to a window and dissipates to the outdoors. To obtain good air conditioning performance with the spacious considerations, the mobile air conditioner 10 is usually moved to be near a wall 1 as shown in FIG. 8.

Because the vent 12 is formed on the back side of the mobile air conditioner 10 and the tube 70 should be bent in an S-shape, the mobile air conditioner 10 cannot be placed closely beside on the wall 1, but stands apart from the wall 1 by a distance. Further, since the tube 70 is bent in the S-shape, the heat dissipation efficiency of the mobile air conditioner 10 is relatively low.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The main objective of the present invention is to provide a mobile air conditioner which can be placed close beside the wall further to abut flush against the wall. The user can move the mobile air conditioner more closely to the door, the wall or the window. Further, the tube will not be over bent when the mobile air conditioner abuts flush against the wall, so that the performance of heat dissipation is better than the mobile air conditioner of the prior art.

In order to achieve the objective above, the mobile air conditioner of the present invention has a shell, a heat dissipation device, a sleeve, a sliding door, an air-discharge device and an air cooling assembly. The shell has an internal space and a vent, and the vent is on the top of the shell. The heat dissipation device has an inlet and an outlet. The sleeve is connected between the vent and the outlet. The sliding door is movably mounted in the shell and corresponds to the vent. The air-discharge device and the air cooling assembly are disposed in the internal space. Hot air inside the mobile air conditioner is upward dissipated from the vent.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT

With reference to FIG. 1 to FIG. 5, the mobile air conditioner includes a shell 20, a controller 30, a compressor (not shown), a condenser 42, a heat dissipation device 50, an air-discharge device 60 and a sleeve 54.

In FIG. 1, the shell 20 includes a back cover 242, a pair of side covers 244, a top cover 248, a base 241 and a front cover 246. An internal space is formed by the back cover 242, the side covers 244, the top cover 248, the base 241 and the front cover 246. The internal space of the shell 12 is used to receive components of the mobile air conditioner. A plurality of wheels 240 is mounted on the bottom of the base 241. The number of the plurality of the wheels 240 can be two, four, six or eight depending on the requirement.

The top cover 248 functions as a top of the shell 20. The top cover 248 is formed with a vent 220 that allows hot air generated by the mobile air conditioner to be discharged. The vent 220 is formed on the top of the mobile air conditioner. When the mobile air conditioner is placed close to the wall, the shell 20 can abut flush against the wall. Therefore, the hot air can be exhausted from the mobile air conditioner along a vertical direction.

The top cover 248 includes a control panel 228 operable by a user to control multiple functions of the mobile air conditioner. The functions include, but are not limited to, adjusting, setting, pre-setting temperatures or the fan out direction. With reference to FIG. 5, a pair of wind deflectors 258 is provided in front of the top cover 248. The wind deflectors 258 are used to adjust the fan out direction to be upward or downward. The base 241 functions as a bottom of the shell 20 and is used to carry the components of the mobile air conditioner.

In one embodiment, a sliding door 222 is mounted to close or open the vent 220 as shown in FIGS. 1 and 3. Furthermore, two rails 224 are provided in the shell 20 and respectively at opposite sides of the sliding door 222. Each of the rails 224 has an L-shaped structure. The sliding door 222 is positioned between the rails 224 and is extended or retracted to close or open the vent 220. When the mobile air conditioner is not in use, the sliding door 222 can be extended to close the vent 220 to avoid the dust or the dirt falling into the mobile air conditioner. When the mobile air conditioner is in use, the sliding door 222 is open to expose the vent 220 to exhaust the hot air.

With reference to FIG. 3, the controller 30 includes a controller cover 302. Inside the controller 30, a circuit board having electrical control components is provided. The controller 30 controls the compressor to make the mobile air conditioner produce cool or hot air. The controller 30 is also electrically connected with the control panel 228. The user operates the control panel 228 to control the controller 30 of the mobile air conditioner.

With reference to FIGS. 3 and 5, an evaporator 41 is set on the condenser 42. The condenser 42 operates in company with the evaporator 41 to produce the cool air. As well known in the art, the compressor, the evaporator 41 and the condenser 42 are assembled to be an air cooling assembly of the mobile air conditioner.

With reference to FIG. 5, the front cover 246 has a plurality of horizontal grids. Further, a netted cover 256 is attached in front of the front cover 246. The netted cover 256 includes a plurality of grid networks for filtering the dust or dirt.

With reference to FIG. 4, the heat dissipation device 50 includes a first cover 510, a second cover 512, a motor 520 and a turbofan 530. The second cover 512 has an inlet 514 formed in one side of the second cover 512. When the heat dissipation device 50 is mounted in the mobile air conditioner, the inlet 514 is beside the condenser 42. The first cover 510 is assembled with the second cover 512 to form an outlet 516. An interval net 226 may be provided in the outlet 516 to filter the dust and the dirt as shown in FIG. 3. The direction of the air-discharge through the outlet 516 is straight upward. The first cover 510 assembled with the second cover 512 further forms a receiving space to receive the motor 520 and the turbofan 530. The turbofan 530 is mounted around the motor 520 to generate airflow. By the way, a space among the inlet 514, the receiving space and the outlet 516 is interlinked. The heat dissipation device 50 can dissipate the hot air out of the mobile air conditioner through the inlet 514, the outlet 516, the sleeve 54 and the vent 220.

As described above, the hot air generated by the condenser 42 can be dissipated by the heat dissipation device 50. When the motor 520 drives the turbofan 530 to rotate, the hot air flows upward through the outlet 516 to be discharged. The bottom of the sleeve 54 is assembled with the outlet 516. The top of the sleeve 54 is connected with the vent 220. So the hot air could be discharged out of the mobile air conditioner. It is important that the hot air is upward discharged out of the mobile air conditioner, so that the mobile air conditioner can be placed abut flush against the wall.

The air-discharge device 60 comprises an air-discharge motor 602, an axial fan 604, a wheel cover 606 and a cool-air outlet 608 as shown in FIGS. 3 and 5. The air-discharge device 60 is disposed in an upper side of the internal space of the shell 20. The evaporator 41 produces cool air which is discharged out through the cool-air outlet 608 and the wind deflectors 258. In the air-discharge device 60, the wheel cover 606 is mounted on the axial fan 604. The axial fan 604 is connected with and driven by the air-discharge motor 602. The air-discharge motor 602 drives the axial fan 604 to rotate. When the axial fan 604 rotates, the cool air from the evaporator 41 can be dissipated out of the mobile air conditioner through the cool-air outlet 608.

With reference to FIG. 2, the mobile air conditioner may further comprise a soft tube 70 or a rigid tube. One end of the soft tube 70 is connected with the sleeve 54. The soft tube 70 can be retracted in the sleeve 54 when the mobile air conditioner is not in use. When the mobile air conditioner is turned on, the soft tube 70 could be pull out from the sleeve 54, wherein a distal end of the soft tube 70 can extend to the outdoors. The material of the soft tube 70 includes, but is not limited to, plastic, elastic resin or rubber.

When the mobile air conditioner is not in use and the soft tube 70 is retracted in the sleeve 54, the user can close the sliding door 222. On the other hand, when the mobile air conditioner is in use, the user opens the sliding door 222 and pulls out the soft tube 70 upward, so the mobile air conditioner can abut flush against the wall. With reference to FIG. 6, because the soft tube 70 is connected with the vent 220 along a vertical direction without over bending, the heat dissipation performance of this invention is better than the prior art.

Even though numerous characteristics and advantages of the present invention have been set forth in the foregoing description, together with details of the structure and features of the invention, the disclosure is illustrative only.
