The device includes a frame which has a plurality of channels integrated into the frame. Additionally, the frame includes a hinged member for opening and closing the frame. The device includes a plurality of structured elements that each has a unique shape with respect to each other. Each of the structured elements can be inserted into a respective channel and arranged into a variety of orientations to displaying a variety of artistic expressions
The prior art relates to art display devices including an artistic display device that includes a frame and a plurality of interchangeable tiles being integrated into the frame. The prior art discloses a puzzle device which as a frame and a plurality of slidable tiles each being integrated into the frame. The prior art discloses a modular picture frame for displaying a completed jig saw puzzle. The prior art discloses a decorative backsplash device that includes a frame that can be integrated into a wall for surrounding an opening in the wall and a decorative panel that is removably attachable to the frame for concealing the opening. The prior art discloses an interchangeable tile device for facilitating a plurality of tiles to be interchanged with each other in a plurality of layers for displaying a variety of artistic expressions.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a frame that has a plurality of intersecting members such that the frame has a rectangular shape. Each of the interesting members has a plurality of channels each is integrated into the intersecting members. The plurality of interesting members includes a hinged member which is hingedly coupled to a respective one of the intersecting members for opening and closing the frame. A plurality of structured elements is provided an each of the structured elements is insertable into respective channels in the intersecting members of the frame. In this way the structured elements are interlaced with each other in the frame to define an artistic expression for viewing pleasure.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The plurality of interesting members 14 includes a hinged member 24 which is hingedly coupled to a respective one of the intersecting members 14. The hinged member 24 is positionable in a closed position having the frame 12 defining the rectangular shape. Conversely, the hinged member 24 is positionable in an open position having the hinged member 24 angling away from the respective intersecting member 14. The first end 18 of the hinged member 24 is hingedly coupled to the second end 20 of a respective intersecting member 14. Additionally, the hinged member 24 has a second surface 26 extending between the first end 18 and the second end 20 of the hinged member 24, and the second surface 26 has an engagement point 28 that is located adjacent to the second end 20 of the hinged member 24.
Each of the channels 16 is recessed into the first surface 22 of the respective intersecting member 14. Each of the channels 16 extends between the first end 18 and the second end 20 of the respective intersecting member 14. The plurality of channels 16 includes a set of first channels 30, a set of second channels 32 and a set of third channels 34. Each of the first channels 30 is aligned with each other in each of the intersecting members 14, each of the second channels 32 is aligned with each other in each of the intersecting members 14, and each of the third channels 34 is aligned with each other in each of the intersecting members 14. Each of the intersecting members 14 includes a front surface 36 and a rear surface 38. The first channels 30, the second channels 32 and the third channels 34 are distributed between the front surface 36 and the rear surface 38. Additionally, the front surface 36 of each of the intersecting members 14
An engagement 40 is movably attached to a respective one of the intersecting members 14. The engagement 40 is positioned adjacent to the first end 18 of the interesting member to which the engagement 40 is movably attached. Furthermore, the engagement 40 releasably engages the engagement point 28 on the second surface 26 of the hinged member 24 when the hinged member 24 is positioned in the closed position. In this way the hinged member 24 is retained in the closed position. The engagement 40 may comprise a finger 42 that is pivotally disposed on the respective intersecting member 14. The engagement point 28 may comprise an indentation, a loop, a receiver or any other type of element that can insertably receive the finger 42 when the hinged member 24 is in the closed position.
A plurality of structured elements 44 is provided and each of the structured elements 44 is insertable into respective channels 16 in the intersecting members 14 of the frame 12. In this way the structured elements 44 are interlaced with each other in the frame 12 to define an artistic expression for viewing pleasure. Each of the structured elements 44 has an outer edge 46 and the outer edge 46 of each of the structured elements 44 has at least one engaging side 48 for slidably engaging a respective one of the first channels 30, the second channels 32 or the third channels 34 in a respective one of the intersecting members 14 of the frame 12. Furthermore, the outer edge 46 of each of the structured elements 44 includes an undulating side 50 that is exposed when the structured elements 44 is positioned in the respective channel. In this way the undulating side 50 is visible in the frame 12. The undulating side 50 of the outer edge 46 of each of the structured elements 44 may define a unique series of curves, lobes and depressions. As is most clearly shown in
In use, the hinged member 24 is positioned in the open position and respective ones of the structured elements 44 are inserted into respective channels 16 in the frame 12. The hinged member 24 is positioned in the closed position to retain the structured elements 44 in the frame 12 and the engagement 40 is manipulated to engage the engagement point 28. In this way the structured elements 44 can be arranged in the frame 12 for displaying one of a variety of possible artistic expressions. Additionally, the structured elements 44 can be continually re-arranged in the frame 12, depending on the user's preferences.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
