Modular brake assembly for a drive axle

Abstract

A modular brake assembly for a drive axle is proposed, comprising a multi-disk brake with a service brake element and a parking brake element, which is disposed in a brake housing (1) with inside diameter between an axle bracket and axle center component. A guide fixed to the housing is provided on the inside diameter of the brake housing (1) for the actuating device (6) for a mechanical differential lock.

Claims

1. A modular brake assembly for a drive axle, comprising a multi-disk brake with a service brake element and a parking brake element, characterized in that the assembly is disposed in a brake housing (1) with inside diameter between an axle bracket and axle center component, on the inside diameter of the brake housing (1) a guide fixed to the housing being provided for the actuating device (6) of a mechanical differential lock.

The modular brake assembly for a drive axle according to claim 1, characterized in that the actuating device (6) for the mechanical differential lock comprises a sliding sleeve for a form-fit clutch (11) and a piston (6), the sliding sleeve being actuated against the force of a return spring (7) by the co-axially configured piston (6), with the return spring being supported on the inside diameter of the brake housing (1).

3. Modular brake assembly for a drive axle according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the oil supply line (8) for operating the piston (6) of the actuating device for the mechanical differential lock extends in a bridge between the parking brake piston (3) and the service brake piston (2).

Modular brake assembly for a drive axle according to claim 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the service brake piston (2) acts upon the multi-disk brake by pressure application and comprises a return mechanism, the parking brake piston (3) acting upon the service brake piston during a reduction of pressure by means of a spring device via axially displaceable pins disposed on the outer radius of the piston chamber and via the service brake piston (2), the service brake piston (2) being released via the parking brake circuit of the service brake piston (2) when pressure is applied.

5. Modular brake assembly for a drive axle according to claim 2, 3 or 4, characterized in that the displacing force of the piston (6) of the actuating device for the mechanical differential lock can be transmitted to the sliding sleeve via a mount (10) for locking the differential.
