Claims
- 1. A modular outdoor kitchen comprising:
(a) a plurality of outdoor kitchen modules, each module comprising a frame having a plurality of outer faces, the modules being releasably connected together in mating arrangement; (b) a plurality of weather-resistant fascia panels, wherein each fascia panel includes at least one exterior surface that simulates the appearance of an outdoor building material, the plurality of exterior fascia panels being positioned on at least a portion of the pluralities of outer faces of the frames; wherein the modular outdoor kitchen substantially has the appearance of a built-in outdoor kitchen that is substantially constructed of the outdoor building material when the plurality of outdoor kitchen modules are connected together.
- 2. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least two of the plurality of modules can be interchanged with each other to form at least two different kitchen arrangements.
- 3. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein each module has a maximum height, width, or depth that is less than or equal to about 63 inches.
- 4. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein each module has a total weight that is less than or equal to about 320 pounds.
- 5. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein any one of the plurality of modules is configured to be releasably connected to any other of the modules in mating arrangement.
- 6. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein the outdoor building material is selected from a group consisting of brick, stone, stucco, tile, and wood.
- 7. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules comprises an apparatus selected from a group consisting of a gas burner, a hooded grill, a refrigerator, a basin, and a sink.
- 8. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules comprises a storage compartment.
- 9. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules comprises a countertop.
- 10. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 9 wherein the at least one module comprises a bar.
- 11. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein the modules comprise a plurality of mating pairs of latches and catches for releasably connecting the modules together.
- 12. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules is a corner module having a first end and a second end that is substantially perpendicular to the first end.
- 13. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules is a corner module having a first end and a second end, the second end forms an included angle with the first end, and the included angle is less than 90 degrees.
- 14. A modular kitchen according to claim 13 wherein the included angle is about forty five degrees.
- 15. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein the frame of each module includes a base portion and a plurality of adjustable levelers affixed to the base portion.
- 16. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules includes an electrical outlet mounted on the module.
- 17. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 wherein at least one of the modules includes a speaker affixed to the module.
- 18. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 1 further comprising a fireplace having a substantially matching exterior surface that simulates the appearance of the outdoor building material.
- 19. A modular outdoor kitchen according to claim 18 wherein the free-standing fireplace comprises:
(a) a hearth portion; (b) a firebox portion; and (c) a chimney portion; (d) wherein the hearth, firebox, and chimney portions are configured to be releasably connected together.
- 20. A module for an outdoor kitchen comprising:
(a) an inner frame having a plurality of outer faces; (b) at least one weather-resistant fascia panel including an exterior surface that simulates the appearance of an outdoor building material, the at least one exterior fascia panels being attached to at least a portion of the outer faces of the frame; wherein the module has the appearance of at least a portion of a built-in outdoor kitchen that is substantially constructed of the outdoor building material when the exterior fascia panels are attached to the inner frame.
- 21. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising at least one connector for releasably connecting the module to a second outdoor kitchen module in mating arrangement.
- 22. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 wherein the outdoor building material is selected from a group consisting of brick, stone, stucco, tile, and wood.
- 23. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 wherein the module has a maximum height, width, or depth that is less than or equal to about 63 inches.
- 24. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 wherein the module has a total weight that is less than or equal to about 320 pounds.
- 25. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising an outdoor kitchen appliance or fixture.
- 26. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 25, wherein the appliance or fixture is selected from a group consisting of a gas burner, a hooded grill, a refrigerator, a basin, and a sink.
- 27. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising at least one storage compartment therein.
- 28. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 27 wherein the storage compartment includes at least one access door.
- 29. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 27 wherein the storage compartment includes at least one drawer.
- 30. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising a countertop.
- 31. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 30 wherein the module is a bar.
- 32. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising an electrical outlet mounted on the module.
- 33. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 wherein the inner frame comprises a base portion and a plurality of adjustable levelers affixed to the base portion.
- 34. A module for an outdoor kitchen according to claim 20 and further comprising a speaker affixed on the module.
- 35. A method of providing a weather-resistant outdoor kitchen, the method comprising:
(a) making available a plurality of interconnectable outdoor kitchen modules, each module comprising at least one weather-resistant fascia panel on an outer surface of the module, each fascia panel having an exterior surface that simulates the appearance of an outdoor building material; (b) providing at least two outdoor kitchen modules from the plurality of outdoor kitchen modules; and (c) arranging for the transportation the at least two outdoor kitchen modules to an outdoor kitchen site; (d) wherein the at least two outdoor kitchen modules are capable of being assembled together to form an outdoor kitchen that substantially has the appearance of an outdoor kitchen that is substantially constructed of the outdoor building material.
- 36. A method according to claim 35 further comprising releasably connecting the at least two modules together at the outdoor kitchen site to form an outdoor kitchen that substantially has the appearance of an outdoor kitchen constructed of the outdoor building material.
- 37. The method of claim 35 wherein making available a plurality of outdoor kitchen modules includes making available at least one module that includes an outdoor kitchen appliance or fixture.
- 38. The method of claim 35 wherein the kitchen appliance or fixture is selected from a group consisting of a gas burner, a hooded grill, a refrigerator, a basin, and a sink.
- 39. The method of claim 35 wherein the exterior surfaces of the fascia panels simulate the appearance of a material selected from the group consisting of brick, stone, tile, stucco, and wood.
- 40. The method of claim 35 wherein arranging for transportation to the outdoor kitchen site includes individually packaging the modules for transportation.
- 41. The method of claim 35 further comprising:
(a) making available a modular fireplace having a substantially matching exterior surface that simulates the appearance of the building material; (b) providing the fireplace; and (c) arranging for the transport of the fireplace to the outdoor kitchen site.
