Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Field of the Invention

The device relates to removable ornamental and functional designs that accommodate a variety of surfaces, fabrics, and garments.

Description of Relevant Prior Art

Attaching emblems to fabrics is not new, the emblems are frequently used by military, athletes, civil servants, scouts, and consumers. In most cases, the emblems are usually sewn or glued on directly which creates a permanent attachment that renders the garment or surface hard to clean, and the emblem hard to remove and/or replace. Furthermore, there has been few attempts to create a secondary surface that would attach the emblem to the required surface; however, these attempts have been very limited in design and function, several of these limited prior arts is listed below:

First, M-Tac Hook and Loop Tactical Morale Patches Board Molle Attachment (https://www.amazon.com/M-Tac-Morale-Patches-Display-Tactical/dp/B082VCRTKY?th=1) provides a patch panel that allows a Velcro emblem to attach to it; however, the patch can only be attached to a surface using fabric appendages that have to loop around other appendages or loops found on a surface. This is an issue because it limits its use to surfaces that already have said appendages. In addition, the patch does not provide a protective frame for the emblem that secures the emblem's edges and protects it from being easily ripped away from the patch. These issues severely limit where the emblem can be attached.

Second, ROCOTACTICAL Molle Tactical Bag Patch Panel Accessory (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09BZBQ68B/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?pd_rd_i=B09BZDDRQ W&pd_rd_w=qn9k0&content-id=amzn1.sym.3481f441-61ac-4028-9c1a-7f9ce8ec50c5&pf_rd_p=3481f441-61ac-4028-9c1a-7f9ce8ec50c5&pf_rd_r=8JRTOP59R43RJPSRTTQ5&pd_rd wg=CDgPN&pd_rd_r=9a3f4ad0-07de-4427-82ea-f49ecOea0053&s=sporting-goods&sp_csd=d21kZ2VOTmFtZT1zcF9kZXRhaWxfdGhlbWF0aWM&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVk UXVhbGlmaWVyPUEz0DVRTFQ4NO9TVFoyJmVuY3J5cHR1ZElkPUEwNzUONjY0Tks2M 1FPUzJERE1KJmVuY3J5cHR1ZEFkSWQ9QTAxMzY4ODAyTElET1ZZT1JaUFc5JndpZGdld E5hbWU9c3BfZGV0YW1sX3RoZW1hdGljJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1J1ZGlyZWN0JmRvTm9OTG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ&th=1). This patch is very similar to the previous reference, but instead of having the appendages loop around surface loops or appendages, they are secured by Velcro appendages to the back of the patch. This limits its use to garments and surfaces that have specialized hooks or loops that allow the application of this patch onto said surfaces. In addition, this patch does not provide for a protective frame that secures the emblem and prevents it from ripping from the patch.

Third, JFFCESTORE Hook and Loop Tactical Morale Patches (https://www.amazon.com/JFFCESTORE-Tactical-Patches-Attachment-Display/dp/B09VFGXV5D). This Velcro strip contains hooks on either side of it to secure it to a garment surface such as a backpack. It can only attach to a surface that has a corresponding set of loops/hooks which greatly limits the use of the strip. It requires the surface hooks be at a certain distance from each other, and it fails to provide a protective frame that secures the emblem onto it, preventing the emblem from ripping away from this Velcro strip.

From the foregoing, it is clear that the prior art is not only limited in its application, but it also fails to provide the protective framework that would secure the emblem to the patch. The Modular Patch is able to provide a multi-surface, easy to use, secure, and durable device that can accommodate a variety of uses.

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The device comprises an emblem, a backing portion, and a front fascia. The backing portion is able to latch or attach from one side to a variety of surfaces providing a strong permanent support for the emblem on said surface. The emblem attaches to the backing portion through the front fascia. The backing portion along with the front fascia provides a solid and permanent support to the emblem on a desired surface. Whereas the backing portion facing the emblem consists of material that allows the emblem to be secured through the front fascia, the second side is made of material that allows the emblem to be removed and reattached freely. Further, the device allows alternating between a variety of emblems to accommodate users.

The device can be used on clothes, fabric, automobiles, hard surfaces indoors and outdoors, it can have different sizes and shapes; and be made of fabric, metal, plastic, or other materials. On one hand, the emblem attaches to the second surfaces via Velcro, hooks, reusable adhesive, magnet, snaps, buttons, or other reusable attachments. Further, the emblem can be a pouch or a multi-purpose compartment that can house a wide range of items. On the other hand, the backing portion secures to a variety of surfaces using an adhesive. The fascia provides a protective surrounding to the emblem that protects it from being ripped away from the backing portion.
