This invention relates to a keyboard, in particular, a modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key.
Mechanical keyboard is a kind of commonly seen keyboard. Each key of such kind of keyboard is controlled by an independent switch for closing. An elastic conductive part is propelled by a key to establish an electrical connection with or disconnection from another conductive part, thus, completing the keystroke operation. Since mechanical keyboards give unique tactile feedback and sound during keystroke, it is increasingly welcomed by computer users.
However, there are also many shortcomings to traditional mechanical keyboards. For example, complicated mechanical structure, cumbersome installation, slow switch response speed, susceptibility for short-circuiting when coming in contact with water, susceptibility for circuit breaking when coming in contact with dust, easy wearing of contact points or easy occurrence of metal fatigue after long-time use, as well as short service life.
An object of the present invention is to provide a water- and dust-proof modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key with simple structure, quick switch response speed and long service life.
To achieve the aforementioned object, the modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key according to the present invention comprises modular photoelectric switch, base, keymodule and elastic element, the said modular photoelectric switch is mounted in the said base, the said keymodule is slideably placed in the sliding cavity of the said base and the said elastic element is placed between the said base and the said keymodule; the said modular photoelectric switch comprises transmitting tube, receiving tube and distance piece, the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube are placed oppositely and are electrically connected with the circuit board; the said distance piece is connected with the said keymodule and located between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube; Pressing on the said keymodule causes the said distance piece to slide to or away from the position between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube so as to block or conduct the signal transmission between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube.
In contrast with prior art, the said transmitting tubes and the said receiving tubes according to the present invention are respectively placed oppositely so that the said distance piece is placed between the said transmitting tube and receiving tube, and the said distance piece is connected with the said keymodule, when the said keymodule propels the said distance piece to slide to a position between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube, this can block the signal transmission between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube; also provided is the said elastic element, rebound force of the said elastic element can cause the said distance piece to leave the position between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube, thus, conducting the signal transmission between the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube. Therefore, sliding of the said distance piece causes the signal to be conducted or blocked to fulfill the turn on/off function, thus, completing a keystroke operation of the keyboard; The use of photoelectric element as the switching structure of the keyboard key not only provides for simple structure, quick installation, fast switch response speed, but also enables that signals are transmitted by light without the need for any conductive metal part, having a water- and dust-proofing effect, and furthermore, the said distance piece does not have a direct contact with the said transmitting tube and receiving tube, without causing any wear or metal fatigue, thus, extremely extending its service life.
Preferably, the said modular photoelectric switch also comprises a housing, the said housing fixedly mounted on the said base, the said housing has two pairs of tube holders, the said two pairs of tube holders have an on-off slot between them, the said transmitting tube and the said receiving tube are respectively mounted in the said two pairs of transmitting holders, and the transmitting port of the said transmitting tube and the receiving port of the said receiving tube face the said on-off slot and directly face each other. By providing two pairs of tube holders on the said housing, it is possible to limit the position of the said transmitting tube and receiving tube, and have them directly facing each other via the on-off slot between them, making signal transmission possible.

Specifically, a lock piece is provided at the bottom of the housing, and the said lock piece is locked with the circuit board. The said lock piece enables the said housing to be quickly connected with the said circuit board, allowing for easy erection and improving the subassembly speed.
Preferably, the said modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key also includes an elastic strip, the said elastic strip is fixed on the said base, the said elastic strip has elastic tongue piece, the said keymodule is provided with a retainer portion, and the said elastic tongue piece provides an elastic force perpendicular to the sliding direction of the said keymodule and retains against the said retainer portion. By providing the said elastic strip and providing a retainer portion on the said keymodule, it is possible for the said elastic strip to produce an elastic force against the said retainer portion, giving a tactile feel to the modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key of the present invention when it is depressed, which is a key feel unique to mechanical keyboards.
Specifically, the said keymodule comprises plunger and slider that is slideably connected outside the said plunger; the said plunger is provided with a suspension portion, and when the key is not pressed, the said slider is suspended on the said suspension portion, and the said retaining portion presses against the said elastic tongue piece. By dividing the said keymodule into two parts, namely, plunger and slider, it is possible to cause the said plunger and the said slider to produce a sound of collision when depressing the modular photoelectric-switch keyboard key of the present invention, simulating the sound of mechanical keyboard and reinforcing the sound when typing on the keyboard.
Preferably, locating pole is provided on the underside of the said base, and the said locating pole is inserted into the locating hole of the circuit board. The said locating pole may, during erection, enable the said base to locate quickly, thus, improving the erection efficiency.
Preferably, the said base has an elastic hook provided on one side of the base, a fixing plate is provided above the said circuit board, the said base is mounted on the opening of the said fixing plate and the said elastic hook is clamped on the rim of the said opening. The said elastic hook enables the said base to be quickly located, dispensing with tin soldering and other procedures, thus, improving the erection efficiency.
Preferably, the said base comprises a top cover and housing, either the said top cover or the said housing is provided with a engagement hook, the other one of the said top cover or the said housing has an engagement portion, and when the said top cover is covered on the said housing, the said engagement hook is engaged with the said engagement portion. By making the said base into two parts, namely, the top cover and the housing, and by mating the said engagement hook with the engagement portion, subassembly is made easier.
