The prior art relates to target devices.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a stand comprising a plurality of modular sections. Each of the modular sections can be removably coupled together. A first target support and a second target support are provided and each of the first target support and the second target support are removably coupled to the stand. A set of first target clamps is each coupled to and extends away from the first target support. Each of the first target clamps releasably engages a target. A set of second target clamps is each of the second target clamps is coupled to and extends away from the second target support. Each of the second target clamps releasably engages the target to retain the target between the first target support and the second target support for target practice.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The plurality of modular sections 14 includes a base section 18, an upright section 20, a first target support 22 and a second target support 24. The base section 18 comprises a first base fitting 26 that has a first receiver 28 and a second receiver 30. The first receiver 28 has a longitudinal axis which is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the second receiver 30. The first receiver 28 has a pair of openings 32 therein and the second receiver 30 has an opening 34 therein.
The base section 18 includes a first leg 36 that is insertable into a respective one of the openings 32 in the first receiver 28. A second leg 38 is insertable into a respective one of the openings 32 in the first receiver 28. The first leg 36 extends away from the second leg 38 when the first leg 36 and the second leg 38 are inserted into the first receiver 28. The base section 18 includes a secondary base fitting 40 that has a primary receiver 42 and a secondary receiver 44. The primary receiver 42 has a longitudinal axis that is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the secondary receiver 44 and the primary receiver 42 has a pair of openings 46 therein. The secondary receiver 44 has an opening 48 therein.
The base section 18 includes a pair of third legs 50. Each of the third legs 50 is insertable into a respective one of the openings 46 in the primary receiver 42. In this way the first leg 36, the second leg 38 and the third legs 50 forms a T-shape. Moreover, the second receiver 30 on the first base fitting 26 is directed upwardly when the base section 18 is positioned on the support surface 16.
The upright section 20 of the stand 12 comprises a first member 52 that is insertable into the second receiver 30 on the first base fitting 26 such that the first member 52 is vertically oriented. The upright section 20 includes a first upright fitting 54 that has a first receiver 56 and a second receiver 58. The first receiver 56 of the first upright fitting 54 has a longitudinal axis that is oriented perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the second receiver 58 of the first upright fitting 54. The first receiver 56 of the first upright fitting 54 has a pair of openings 60 therein and the second receiver 58 of the first upright fitting 54 has an opening 62 therein.
A respective one of the openings 60 in the first receiver 56 of the first upright fitting 54 insertably receives the first member 52. The first upright fitting 54 is spaced upwardly from the base section 18 and the second receiver 58 on the first upright fitting 54 is horizontally oriented when the first upright fitting 54 is positioned on the first member 52. A second member 62 is insertable into a respective one of the openings 60 in the first receiver 56 on the first upright fitting 54 having the second member 62 being vertically oriented.
A set screw 64 extends into the first receiver 56 of the first upright fitting 54. The set screw 64 is tightened to engage the second member 62 when the second member 62 is inserted into the first receiver 28 of the first upright fitting 54. A second upright fitting 66 is provided that has a first end 68 and second end 70. Each of the first end 68 and the second end 70 is open, and the first end 68 insertably receives the second member 62.
The upright section 20 includes a third member 72 that is insertable into the second end 70 of the second upright fitting 66 having the third member 72 being vertically oriented. A pair of set screws 74 each extends into the second upright fitting 66. Each of the set screws 74 on the second upright fitting 66 is tightened to engage a respective one of the second member 62 and the third member 72. A third upright fitting 76 is provided that has a primary end 78 and a secondary end 80. The third upright fitting 76 has a bend 82 thereon such that the third upright fitting 76 forms an elbow. The primary end 78 insertably receives the third member 72 having the third upright fitting 76 being spaced upwardly from the second upright fitting 66.
A set screw 84 extends into the third upright fitting 76 and the set screw 84 on the third upright fitting 76 is tightened to engage the third member 72. The first target support 22 is insertable into the opening 62 in the second receiver 58 of the first upright fitting 54 having the first target support 22 being horizontally oriented. The second target support 24 is insertable into the secondary end 80 of the third upright fitting 76 having the second target support 24 being horizontally oriented. The second target support 24 is spaced upwardly from the first target support 22 and the second target support 24 is oriented collinear with the first target support 22.
A set of first target clamps 86 is included and each of the first target clamps 86 is coupled to and extends away from the first target support 22. The first target clamps 86 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the first target support 22. Each of the first target clamps 86 includes a cord 88 and a pair of jaws 90. The cord 88 is comprised of a resiliently stretchable material and each of jaws 90 on each of the first target clamps 86 releasably engages a target 92 adjacent to a bottom edge 94 of the target 92.
A set of second target clamps 96 is included and each of the second target clamps 96 is coupled to and extends away from the second target support 24. The second target clamps 96 are spaced apart from each other and are distributed along the second target support 24. Each of the second target clamps 96 includes a cord 98 and a pair of jaws 100. The cord 98 is comprised of a resiliently stretchable material. Each of jaws 100 on each of the second target clamps 96 releasably engages the target 92 adjacent to a top edge 102 of the target 92. In this way the target 92 is retained between the first target support 22 and the second target support 24 for target practice.
In use, the modular sections 14 of the stand 12 are assembled in order to facilitate the target 92 to be retained above a support surface 16 for target practice. The target 92 is positioned in each of the set of first target clamps 86 and the second target clamps 96. In this way the target 92 is positioned on a vertical plane for target practice. The modular sections 14 can be disassembled for transporting on a bicycle, motorcycle or other vehicle that has limited storage capacity.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
