Claims
- 1. A toolbox system comprising:
a main compartment defined by a base, two opposed side walls, and two opposed end walls, the side walls and the end walls upstanding from the base to form an interior cavity; a lid hingedly attached to one of the side walls; and, at least one modular attachment removably secured by mounting tangs to at least one of the side walls or end walls.
- 2. The toolbox system of claim 1, wherein the modular attachment is removably secured by mounting tangs to at least one of the end walls.
- 3. The toolbox system of claim 1, wherein the main compartment includes recesses for the mounting tangs.
- 4. The toolbox system of claim 3, wherein the mounting tangs of the modular attachment are snap-fit to the recesses in the main compartment.
- 5. The toolbox system of claim 1, wherein the mounting tangs are disposed at an upper surface and a lower surface of the modular attachment.
- 6. The toolbox system of claim 5, wherein the modular attachment includes an extension extending from the lower surface of the attachment and the mounting tangs protruding upwardly from the extension.
- 7. The toolbox system of claim 1, wherein the main compartment, the lid and the at least one modular attachment comprise a flexible material.
- 8. The toolbox system of claim 7, wherein the mounting tangs are disposed at an upper surface and a lower surface of the at least one modular attachment.
- 9. The toolbox system of claim 8, wherein the modular attachment includes an extension extending from the lower surface of the attachment and the mounting tangs protruding upwardly from the extension.
- 10. The toolbox system of claim 1, wherein the lid and at least one of the side walls have corresponding concave outer surfaces.
- 11. The toolbox system of claim 10, wherein the lid further includes at least one storage compartment that may be accessed when the lid is in a closed position and at least one cover.
- 12. A toolbox system comprising:
a main compartment defined by a base, a first side wall, a second side wall, and two opposed end walls, the side walls and the end walls upstanding from the base to form an interior cavity; a lid having side edges corresponding to the first and second side walls and the lid being hingedly attached to the first side wall, and; a portion of the second side wall and the corresponding lid edge having a concave outer surface.
- 13. The toolbox system of claim 12, wherein the main compartment and the lid comprise flexible material.
- 14. The toolbox system of claim 12, wherein the lid further includes at least one storage compartment that may be accessed when the lid is in a closed position and at least one cover.
- 15. The toolbox system of claim 12, further comprising at least one modular attachment snap-fitted and contiguous at least one of the end walls of the main compartment.
- 16. The toolbox system of claim 15, wherein the modular attachment includes mounting tangs and the main compartment includes recesses which correspond to the placement of mounting tangs.
- 17. The toolbox system of claim 16, wherein the mounting tangs are disposed at an upper surface and a lower surface of the modular attachment.
- 18. The toolbox system of claim 17, wherein the modular attachment includes an extension extending from the lower surface of the attachment, the mounting tangs protruding upwardly from the extension.
- 19. A method of carrying a tool box comprising the steps of:
providing a toolbox comprising a lid with a handle, a main compartment defined by a base, a first side wall, a second side wall, and two opposed end walls, the side walls and the end walls upstanding from the base to form an interior cavity, the second side wall and a corresponding lid edge having a concave outer surface portion; and carrying the toolbox so that a leg of a user is positioned along the concave surface portion of the second side wall and the corresponding lid edge.
- 20. The method of claim 19, wherein the concave outer surface is curved.
- 21. The method of claim 19, wherein the concave outer surface includes a plurality of angled sidewalls.
- 22. A method of carrying a tool box comprising:
providing a tool box that includes at least one side wall that is inwardly curved; and carrying the toolbox adjacent to a leg of the user so that the inwardly curved surface at least partially cradles a leg of a user.
- 23. A method of carrying a tool box comprising:
providing a toolbox having a lid with a handle, a main compartment defined by a base, a first side wall, a second side wall, and two opposed end walls, the side walls and the end walls upstanding from the base to form an interior cavity, the second side wall and a corresponding lid edge having a concave outer surface portion, wherein the concave outer surface portion at least partially conforms to a user's leg.
- 24. A method of using a toolbox comprising the steps of:
providing a tool box having:
a main compartment defined by a base, two opposed side walls, and two opposed end walls, the side walls and the end walls upstanding from the base to form an interior cavity; and a lid hingedly attached to one of the side walls; providing at least one modular attachment removably secured by mounting tangs to at least one of the side walls or end walls; removing the at least one modular attachment; and replacing the at least one modular attachment with a second modular attachment that is different from the first modular attachment.
- 25. The method of claim 24, wherein the modular attachment is removably secured by mounting tangs to at least one of the end walls.
- 26. The method of claim 24, wherein the main compartment includes recesses which correspond to the placement of the mounting tangs to securely adhere the modular attachment to the main compartment.
