Claims
- 1. A mold construction for molding structures, made of plastic for securing a heat sink member with male threading to a heat generating member in flush communication, said structures having interrupted interior threads of greater than one turn, comprising:
- a first mold member having a first base with a cavity therein and a first cylindrical wall disposed on a cavity floor; said first cylindrical wall including a notched upper portion with a series of peaks and valleys in said cylindrical wall; said first cylindrical wall having a different height, from said cavity floor to a top edge of said first cylindrical wall, at each peak and valley; said first cylindrical wall being beveled at its top edge toward the outside of said first cylindrical wall;
- a second mold member having a second base with a second cylindrical wall disposed thereon; said second cylindrical wall including a notched upper portion with a series of peaks and valleys in said cylindrical wall; said second cylindrical wall having a different height, from said base to a top edge of said second cylindrical wall, at each peak and valley; said second cylindrical wall being beveled at its top edge toward the outside of said second cylindrical wall; and
- said first mold member and said second mold member being matable with one another; said top edge of said first cylindrical wall being complimentarily matable with said top edge of said second cylindrical wall; said beveled top edge of said first cylindrical Wall being matable with said beveled top edge of said second cylindrical wall to form thread segment matrices at different heights about the periphery thereof, said thread segment matrices providing means to mold interrupted female threading of greater than one turn for threaded engagement with male threading of a heat sink member.
- 2. The mold construction of claim 1, wherein said thread matrices are spaced apart from one another about the periphery of said first cylindrical wall and said second cylindrical wall complimentarily mated at respective top edges.
- 3. The mold construction of claim 1, wherein said first cylindrical wall extends downward into an aperture in said cavity floor; said cylindrical wall being capable of rotating within and actuating in and out of said aperture in said cavity floor.
- 4. The mold construction of claim 1, wherein said first base includes a mold material inlet into said cavity.
- 5. The mold construction of claim 1, wherein said second mold member includes a plate disposed between said second cylindrical wall and said second base; said plate being matable with said cavity in said first base and capable of forming a molded structure through which an aperture, having interrupted threads on its inner surface, is formed.
- 6. A mold construction useful for molding interrupted thread segments, having greater than one turn, on an inner wall surface of an aperture through a molded article which is manufactured of plastic and is capable of securing a heat sink member with male threading to a heat generating member in flush communication, comprising:
- a bottom die having means for forming a bottom portion of a molded article with an aperature therethrough;
- bottom shutoff surface means emanating up from said bottom die for forming a lower portion of each interrupted thread segment;
- a top die having means for forming a top portion of a mold article with an aperture therethrough; said top die being matable with said bottom die;
- top shutoff surface means emanating down from said top die for forming an upper portion of each interrupted thread segment; and
- said bottom shutoff surface means being in communication with said top shutoff surface means to form a means to mold a series of interrupted thread segments, on an inner wall of said aperture through said molded article; each of said interrupted thread segments being positioned at a height different from one another on said inner wall of said aperture with none of said interrupted thread segments vertically overlapping one another about the periphery of said inner wall of said aperture, said interrupted thread segments providing female threading of greater than one turn for threaded engagement with male threading of a heat sink member.
- 7. The mold construction of claim 6, wherein said bottom shutoff surface means and said top shutoff surface means each include outwardly extending beveled surface means for forming said interrupted thread segments.
