Claims
- 1. A casting mold adapted to receive a dental tray for simultaneously casting registered upper and lower dental impressions contained in the dental tray, the dental tray having a substantially U-shaped wall around part of each impression, and at least one non-porous, bite-deformable septum, comprising:
- two end pieces; and,
- means for providing at least one seal between the dental tray and an inner contour of the mold so that two separate cavities are formed, each cavity being partially defined by one of the dental impressions contained within the dental tray and an adjacent mold end piece and being separated from the other cavity by said at least one non-porous septum and seal.
- 2. A mold as defined in claim 1 wherein said means for providing said at least one seal between the dental tray and an inner contour of the mold comprises means for engaging said end piece against upper and lower rims of said U-shaped wall.
- 3. A mold as defined in claim 1 further comprising a support adapted to hold the dental tray, said means for sealing being provided by engagement of the outer periphery of at least one of the U-shaped walls against said dental tray support.
- 4. A mold as defined in claim 1 further comprising:
- means for supporting an articulating device so that portions of the articulating device are adapted to extend into each of the said cavities a predetermined depth.
- 5. A mold as defined in claim 4, further comprising: an articulator comprising first and second rotatable support structures, said first support structure being adapted to extend in the mold cavity in which the upper teeth casting is to be formed and said second support structure being adapted to extend into the mold cavity in which the lower teeth casting will be formed.
- 6. A mold as defined in claim 1 further comprising:
- mounting plates positioned in each mold cavity at a predetermined position so that an external articulator can register the upper and lower castings with each other when mounted on the external articulator by the mounting plates.
