Claims
- 1. A mold for forming an article having a wall and a flange projecting radially outwardly therefrom, comprising a unitary mold member defining with a movable core a cavity for forming said article, an undercut provided in a first surfaces of said mold member for forming said flange, a means provided on a second surface of the mold member adjacent to the undercut for forming a flexural region in the article in proximity to the flange, and means in the second surface for supplying a fluid between the cavity and the formed article in such a volume and at sufficient pressure to maintain the article in substantially constant contact with the core as the core is removed from the cavity, the flexural region allowing the flange to conform to the wall of the cavity until the article is free from the cavity.
- 2. The mold of claim 1 wherein said means provided on a second surface comprises a ridge for forming a groove to permit the inward flexing of the flange during removal from the cavity.
