Claims
- 1. Monodisperse fluorine-containing spherical bead polymer particles having an average particle diameter of about 5 μm to about 5.5 μm +/−0.1 and a refractive index of about 1.4+/−0.005 for standardizing and calibrating hematology analyzers for red blood cell analysis, said particles selected from the group consisting of 2-fluorethylacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylacrylate, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropylacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H-heptafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H, 5H-octafluoropentylacrylate, 1H,1H-pentadecafluoroctylacrylate, 2-fluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylmethacrylate, 1H, 1H-hepatafluorobutylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,11H-eicosafluoroundecylmethacrylate and mixtures thereof.
- 2. The particles according to claim 1, further having a monodispersity of at least about 65% to about 85%.
- 3. The particles according to claim 1, wherein fluorine is present in an amount of from about 25% to about 65% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer.
- 4. The particles according to claim 1, comprising a homopolymer of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate.
- 5. Monodisperse fluorine-containing spherical bead polymer particles having an average particle diameter of about 2.5 μm and a refractive index of about 1.38+/−0.01 for standardizing and calibrating hematology analyzers for platelet analysis, said particles selected from the group consisting of 2-fluorethylacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylacrylate, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropylacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H-heptafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentylacrylate, 1H,1H-pentadecafluoroctylacrylate, 2-fluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylmethacrylate, 1H,1H-hepatafluorobutylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylmethacrylate, 1H,1H, 5H-octafluoropentylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,11H-eicosafluoroundecylmethacrylate and mixtures thereof.
- 6. The particles according to claim 5, further having a monodispersity of at least about 65% to about 85%.
- 7. The particles according to claim 5, wherein fluorine is present in an amount of from about 25% to about 65% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer.
- 8. The particles according to claim 5, comprising a homopolymer of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate.
- 9. Monodisperse fluorine-containing spherical bead polymer particles having an average particle diameter of about 5 μm to about 9 μm+/−0.1 and a refractive index of about 1.375 to about 1.4+/−0.01 for standardizing and calibrating hematology analyzers for white blood cell analysis, said particles selected from the group consisting of 2-fluorethylacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylacrylate, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropylacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H-heptafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentylacrylate, 1H,1H-pentadecafluoroctylacrylate, 2-fluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylmethacrylate, 1H,1H-hepatafluorobutylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,11H-eicosafluoroundecylmethacrylate and mixtures thereof.
- 10. The particles according to claim 9, further having a monodispersity of at least about 65% to about 85%.
- 11. The particles according to claim 9, wherein fluorine is present in an amount of from about 25% to about 65% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer.
- 12. The particles according to claim 9, comprising a homopolymer of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate.
- 13. Monodisperse fluorine-containing spherical polymer particles for standardizing and calibrating hematology analyzers, comprising one or more of particles having (i) a particle diameter of about 5 μm to about 5.5 μm+/−0.1 and refractive index of about 1.41+/−0.01 for red blood cells; (ii) a particle diameter of about 2.5 μm and refractive index of about 1.380+/−0.01 for platelets; (iii) a particle diameter of about 8.0 μm and refractive index of about 1.395+/−0.01 for neutrophils; (iv) a particle diameter of about 7.2 μm and refractive index of about 1.385+/−0.01 for lymphocytes; (v) a particle diameter of about 9.0 μm and refractive index of about 1.375+/−0.01 for monocytes; (vi) a particle diameter of about 8.5 μm and refractive index of about 1.395+/−0.01 for eosinophils, or (vii) a particle diameter of about 7.4 μm and refractive index of about 1.385+/−0.01 for basophils, said particles selected from the group consisting of 2-fluorethylacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylacrylate, 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoropropylacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H-heptafluorobutylacrylate, 1H,1H, 5H-octafluoropentylacrylate, 1H,1H-pentadecafluoroctylacrylate, 2-fluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropylmethacrylate, 1H,1H-hepatafluorobutylmethacrylate, 2,2,3,4,4,4-hexafluorobutylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,5H-octafluoropentylmethacrylate, 1H,1H,11H-eicosafluoroundecylmethacrylate and mixtures thereof.
- 14. The particles according to claim 13, further having a monodispersity of at least about 65% to about 85%.
- 15. The particles according to claim 13, wherein fluorine is present in an amount of from about 25% to about 65% by weight, based on the total weight of the polymer.
- 16. The particles according to claim 13, comprising a homopolymer of 2,2,2-trifluoroethylmethacrylate.
