Claims
- 1. An electronically controlled device comprising:a body; a port control valve member moveably positioned in said body; a gas exchange valve member; a fuel injector having a direct control needle valve and being at least partially disposed in said gas exchange valve member; a first electrical actuator operably coupled to said direct control needle valve; and a second electrical actuator operably coupled to said gas exchange valve member and said port control valve member.
- 2. The device of claim 1 wherein said fuel injector is a hydraulically actuated fuel injector.
- 3. The device of claim 1 wherein said first electrical actuator moves a first ball valve member from a first seat to a second seat when activated; andsaid second electrical actuator moves a second ball valve member from a third seat to a fourth seat when activated.
- 4. The device of claim 1 wherein said port control valve is a hydraulically actuated port control valve.
- 5. The device of claim 1 wherein said gas exchange valve member is a hydraulically actuated gas exchange valve member.
- 6. A valve comprising:a valve body defining a first passage and a control passage; a valve member having a first hydraulic surface, a control hydraulic surface and a second surface, and being positioned in said valve body and being moveable between an up position and a down position; said first hydraulic surface being exposed to fluid pressure in said first passage when said valve member is in said down position, but only a portion of said first hydraulic surface being exposed to fluid pressure in said first passage when said valve member is in said up position; said control hydraulic surface being exposed to fluid pressure in said control passage; a source of low pressure fluid; a source of high pressure fluid; a biaser in contact with said second surface; said valve member being biased toward said down position when said valve member is in said down position and said first passage is fluidly connected to said source of high pressure fluid; said valve member being biased toward said down position when said valve member is in said up position, said first passage is fluidly connected to said source of high pressure fluid and said control passage is fluidly connected to said source of high pressure fluid; and said valve member being biased toward said up position when said valve member is in said up position, said first passage is fluidly connected to said source of high pressure fluid and said control passage is fluidly connected to said source of low pressure fluid.
- 7. The valve of claim 6 wherein said biaser is exposing said second surface to said source of high pressure fluid.
- 8. The valve of claim 6 wherein at least one of said valve body and said valve member define a through passage;said through passage being one of opened and closed when said valve member is in said up position, and said through passage being an other one of opened and closed when in said down position.
