Claims
- 1. Improved weight measuring apparatus which generates a digital weight output having a predetermined number of significant digital places and including a no-motion detector comprising, in combination, scale means for periodically generating a digital weight signal having the predetermined number of significant digital places and at least one more least significant digital place than the weight output, a computer interconnected with said weight measuring apparatus, said computer comprising means for (1) storing the immediate previous weight signal, for (2) comparing each current weight signal with the stored weight signal, and for (3) generating a no-motion signal when the curent weight signal is within a predetermined number of digits in the least significant digital place of the stored weight signal.
- 2. An improved motion detector for measuring apparatus which generates a digital weight output having a predetermined number of significant digital places comprising, in combination, programmed control means including a plurality of memory sections, scale means for generating a succession of digital weight signals each having said predetermined number of significant digital places and at least one more least significant digital place, entering means responsive to said control means for storing in said memory sections successive pairs of digital weight signals, each such pair of signals including the two most recent digital weight signals, said control means serving as means for comparing the later stored one of each pair of digital weight signals with the earlier stored one of the same pair of digital weight signals and for generating a no-motion signal each time that the later stored one of a pair of digital weight signals is within a predetermined number of least significant digits of the earlier stored one of the same pair of digital weight signals.
