Abstract
A motorcycle having an external appearance rich in change without increased cost. A front-side side cover has first edge parts adjoining a body frame. Portions of the first edge parts are in approximately the same position in a vehicle width direction as outermost faces of an outer surface of the body frame adjoined to outermost faces of outer surfaces of the portions. The remaining portion of the first edge parts is inside the outermost face of the outer surface of the body frame adjoined to the outermost face of an outer surface of the remaining portion.

Claims
  • 1. A motorcycle having a body frame and a body cover, the body cover comprising: a first cover that has a first face that adjoins the body frame, has a width finer than a width of a portion that adjoins the body frame, and extends at an angle to a direction along which the body frame extends, anda second face that adjoins the body frame and the first face, and is inner to the body frame and the first face in a vehicle width direction.
  • 2. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first and second faces have different outer surfaces.
  • 3. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first cover has a bent part bent inside in the vehicle width direction in an edge part in a side opposite to an edge adjoining the second face.
  • 4. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 3, wherein the bent part is connected to a second cover disposed inside in the vehicle width direction.
  • 5. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 4, wherein the bent part is attached to the second cover.
  • 6. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein a portion of the first face enters a third cover in a vehicle width direction.
  • 7. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first cover has plural first faces, and the second face is disposed between the first faces.
  • 8. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 7, wherein the first faces are mutually connected in a position separated from the body frame, and a portion surrounded by the mutually connected plural first faces and the body frame becomes the second face.
  • 9. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first cover has an attaching part concealed inside a detachable vehicle component, and the attaching part is detachably attached to the body frame.
  • 10. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 9, wherein the vehicle component is a seat, and the seat is attachable/detachable without using a tool.
  • 11. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 10, wherein the seat is detachably supported by the body frame, and has a lock mechanism that is locked and unlocked by a key.
  • 12. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first face covers a frame member constituting one part of the body frame.
  • 13. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 12, wherein the frame member is attached to a portion adjoined to the first cover of the body frame through an attaching flange part provided in the body frame, and the first cover is detachably attached to the attaching flange part.
  • 14. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the body frame has left/right tank rails disposed below a fuel tank, and the first cover adjoins the tank rails.
  • 15. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 12, wherein the frame member is a rear part frame extending rearward from a portion that adjoins the first cover, thereby supporting the seat.
  • 16. A motorcycle as claimed in claim 1, wherein the first cover is made of a resin.
