1. Technical Field
The present disclosure relates to an apparatus for mounting fans.
2. Description of Related Art
Fans are usually mounted in servers using screws, which is inconvenient.
Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean at least one.
The fan 10 includes a rectangular end board 12 defining four fixing holes 121 (labeled in
The chassis 20 includes a base 21 and a cover 23 covering the base 21. The base 21 includes a bottom board 212 and a fixing board 213 perpendicularly extending up from the bottom board 12. The fixing board 213 defines a vent 215. Two L-shaped hooks 216 are formed on the fixing board 14 and are adjacent to opposite sides of the vent 215.

In assembly, the fixing members 30 are attached to opposite sides of the end board 12. The tabs 361 of the fixing members 30 are pivotably inserted into two diagonally opposite fixing holes 121. The fixing members 30 are then rotated 180 degrees about the tabs 361, until the raised portions 321 engage in the corresponding remaining two fixing holes 121. Thus, each side of the end board 12 is sandwiched between the first blocking plate 32, the second blocking plate 34, and the third blocking plates 36 of the corresponding fixing member 30.
The fan 10 is located above the fixing board 213, with the flanges 38 aligned with the hooks 216. The fan 10 is then moved down to insert the flanges 38 into the hooks 216, until the fan 10 abuts against the bottom board 212. The flanges 38 are located between the hooks 216 and the fixing board 213. The cover 23 covers the base 21 to block a top of the fan 10.
In other embodiments, the raised portion 321 can be formed on an inner surface of an upper one of the third blocking plates 36.
It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the description or sacrificing all of their material advantages, the examples hereinbefore described merely being exemplary embodiments.
