Claims
- 1. A multiple channel scope, comprising:
- a lens system for gathering an image of a scene;
- a day channel operable to focus the image of the scene at an image plane;
- a night channel operable to focus the image of the scene at the image plane, the night channel comprising:
- an image intensifier tube;
- a housing for the image intensifier tube mounted to an optical bench;
- a retainer coupled to the housing;
- the retainer operable to engage an image intensifier tube;
- the retainer operable to rotate the image intensifier tube relative to the optical bench to deviate the image of the night channel at an image plane;
- a locking device operable to selectively secure the image intensifier tube relative to the optical bench; and
- a channel selector operable to selectively direct the image of the scene into the day or night channel.
- 2. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, the retainer further comprising a socket sized to frictionally receive the image intensifier tube.
- 3. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, further comprising:
- the retainer coupled proximate to an end of the housing opposite the optical bench; and
- the image intensifier tube disposed between the retainer and the optical bench.
- 4. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, wherein the housing is an annular.
- 5. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, further comprising:
- the housing fixably mounted to the optical bench; and
- the retainer rotatably coupled to the housing.
- 6. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, further comprising:
- the retainer including:
- a slide slidably engaging an inside surface of the housing;
- the slide operable to rotate the image intensifier tube within the housing;
- the locking device including:
- a locking ring operable to engage the inside surface of the housing to secure the image intensifier tube within the housing.
- 7. The multiple channel scope of claim 1, further comprising:
- a opening formed in the retainer;
- the opening sized to receive electrical contacts of the image intensifier tube;
- a strain relief member coupled to the retainer opposite the image intensifier tube; and
- the strain relief member operable to hold the electrical contacts of the image intensifier tube.
- 8. The multiple channel scope of claim 7, further comprising an alignment pin operable to align the opening of the retainer with the electrical contacts of the image intensifier tube.
