MOVABLE MEMBER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS

Abstract

A movable member includes a frame, a mounting portion, a rotatable image bearing member, a charging member, and a cleaning member. The cleaning member includes a base portion including a first surface positioned on one side of the frame, a second surface positioned on the other side of the frame, and a third surface, and includes a projected portion. The projected portion includes a first side surface positioned on the aforementioned the other side and a second side surface positioned on the aforementioned one side. The first side surface is positioned between the first surface and the second surface. The first side surface constitutes an end surface of the projected portion on the aforementioned the other side with respect to the axial direction, and the second side surface constitutes an end surface of the projected portion on the aforementioned one side with respect to the axial direction.

11. A movable unit attachable to an apparatus main assembly of an image forming apparatus, movable to the apparatus main assembly, and to which a cartridge is detachably mountable, the cartridge including a toner accommodating container for accommodating toner and a cover member provided at an end portion of the toner accommodating container with respect to a longitudinal direction of the toner accommodating container, the movable unit comprising: a frame;a rotatable photosensitive drum provided in the frame;a charging wire provided in the frame, extending along a rotational axis direction of the photosensitive drum, and configured to electrically charge a surface of the photosensitive drum;a cleaning member provided in the frame, movable between a first position and a second position with respect to a direction of the rotational axis direction, and configured to clean the charging wire by contacting the charging wire; anda mounting portion provided in the frame and to which the cartridge is mountable so that the longitudinal direction is the rotational axis direction,wherein the cleaning member includes a base portion and a plurality of projected portions projected upward from the base portion when the movable unit is in an attitude in which the movable unit is mounted to the apparatus main assembly,wherein in a state in which the cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion, the cleaning member is positioned in the first position and movement of the cleaning member from the first position to the second position is restricted by the cartridge,wherein the plurality of projected portions includes a first projected portion projected most upward from the base portion among the plurality of projected portions and entirety of the first projected portion is disposed in a region of the base portion on a side of the first position with respect to a center position of the base portion in the rotational axis direction, andwherein in a state in which the cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion, the first projected portion is provided in a position in which the first projected portion overlaps with the toner accommodating container as viewed in the rotational axis direction and in which the first projected portion overlaps with the cover member as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction.

12. A movable unit according to claim 11, wherein the frame is provided with an opening for exposing the charging wire, and wherein the cleaning member is movable along the rotational axis direction through the opening.

13. A movable unit according to claim 11, wherein a most projected part of the first projected portion is disposed in a central portion of the first projected portion with respect to the direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction.

14. A movable unit according to claim 11, wherein the cartridge includes a developer carrying member, and a developer remaining on the photosensitive drum after a developer image is transferred from the photosensitive drum is collected by the developer carrying member.

15. A movable unit according to claim 11, wherein the frame is provided with a plurality of the mounting portions, a plurality of the photosensitive drums, a plurality of the charging wires and a plurality of the cleaning members so as to arrange in the direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction, and wherein the plurality of photosensitive drums are arranged in parallel to each other with respect to the rotational axis direction, respectively.

16. A movable unit according to claim 11, wherein the mounting portion is configured so that the cartridge is mounted in and dismounted from the mounting portion along a direction crossing the rotational axis direction.

17. An image forming apparatus comprising: an apparatus main assembly;a movable unit attached to the apparatus main assembly and movable to the apparatus main assembly; anda cartridge detachably mountable to the movable unit, the cartridge including a toner accommodating container for accommodating toner and a cover member provided at an end portion of the toner accommodating container with respect to a longitudinal direction of the toner accommodating container,wherein the movable unit comprises: a frame;a photosensitive drum provided in the frame;a charging wire provided in the frame, extending along a rotational axis direction of the photosensitive drum, and configured to electrically charge a surface of the photosensitive drum;a mounting portion provided in the frame and to which the cartridge is mounted so that the longitudinal direction is the rotational axis direction; anda cleaning member provided in the frame, movable between a first position and a second position with respect to the rotational axis direction in a state in which the cartridge is not mounted to the mounting portion, and configured to clean the charging wire by contacting the charging wire,wherein the cleaning member includes a base portion and a plurality of projected portions projected upward from the base portion,wherein in a state in which the cartridge is mounted to the mounting portion, the cleaning member is positioned in the first position and movement of the cleaning member from the first position to the second position is restricted by the cartridge,wherein the plurality of projected portions includes a first projected portion projected most upward from the base portion among the plurality of projected portions and entirety of the first projected portion is disposed in a region of the base portion on a side of the first position with respect to a center position of the base portion in the rotational axis direction, andwherein the first projected portion is provided in a position so as to overlap with the toner accommodating container as viewed in the rotational axis direction, and so as to overlap with the cover member as viewed in a direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction.

18. An image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein the frame is provided with an opening for exposing the charging wire, and wherein the cleaning member is movable along the rotational axis direction through the opening.

19. An image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein a most projected part of the first projected portion is disposed in a central portion of the first projected portion with respect to the direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction.

20. An image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein the cartridge includes a developer carrying member, and a developer remaining on the photosensitive drum after a developer image is transferred from the photosensitive drum is collected by the developer carrying member.

21. An image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein the frame is provided with a plurality of the mounting portions, a plurality of the photosensitive drums, a plurality of the charging wires and a plurality of the cleaning members so as to arrange in the direction perpendicular to the rotational axis direction, and wherein the plurality of photosensitive drums are arranged in parallel to each other with respect to the rotational axis direction, respectively.

22. An image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein the mounting portion is configured so that the cartridge is mounted in and dismounted from the mounting portion along a direction crossing the rotational axis direction.
