Claims
- 1. A mower deck comprising one or more compartments defined by annular interior walls forming scroll-like blade chambers, a rotary shaft centrally located in each chamber mounting a cutting blade thereon, drive means connected to each shaft for rotating the blades, a discharge opening into which each blade chamber opens, and a baffle housing aligned with the discharge opening having interior baffles diverging outwardly for distributing the grass uniformly.
- 2. A mower deck as defined in claim 1 where each shaft has a plurality of low inertia filaments projecting radially near the underside of the deck for self-cleaning.
- 3. A mower deck as set forth in claim 1 where a secondary opening is provided in the top of the deck, open when the discharge opening is closed off, attached to a collection system.
- 4. A baffle housing for a mower deck mount in alignment with a discharge opening from the deck comprising side baffles diverging outwardly from a centerline defining a fan-like pattern, and a downwardly angled center baffle across the widest part of the fan-like pattern for deflecting the grass in a narrow, but wide path without wind rowing.
