Claims
- 1. An adjustable axle assembly for use with an associated frame, said adjustable axle assembly comprising:an axle member operatively connected to the associated frame; and, a first castor pivot member operatively connected to said axle member, said first castor pivot member having first and second castor openings for selectively receiving first and second associated castor wheels respectively wherein said first and second castor openings are of different size.
- 2. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 1 wherein said first castor pivot member is cylindrically shaped with first and second ends, said first and second castor openings being formed within said first and second ends of said first castor pivot member respectively.
- 3. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 2 wherein said axle member has first and second ends, said first castor pivot member being operatively connected to said first end of said axle member, said adjustable axle assembly further comprising:a second castor pivot member operatively connected to said second end of said axle member, said second castor pivot member being cylindrically shaped with first and second ends, third and fourth castor openings for selectively receiving third and fourth associated castor wheels respectively being formed within said first and second ends of said second castor pivot member respectively.
- 4. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 3 wherein said axle member has an arcuate shape.
- 5. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 3 further comprising:a third spacer, said third spacer selectively fitting within said third castor opening.
- 6. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 5 further comprising:a fourth spacer, said fourth spacer selectively fitting within said fourth castor opening.
- 7. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 1 further comprising:a first spacer, said first spacer selectively fitting within said first castor opening.
- 8. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 7 further comprising:a second spacer, said second spacer selectively fitting within said second castor opening.
- 9. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 1 further comprising:articulating means, said articulating means permitting said axle member to articulate with respect to the associated frame.
- 10. The adjustable axle assembly of claim 9 wherein said articulating means comprises:a bushing operatively connected to said axle member; and, a rod, said bushing selectively receiving said rod, the associated frame having a first rod opening for operatively receiving said rod, said axle member selectively pivoting about said rod.
- 11. An adjustable axle assembly for use with an associated frame, said adjustable axle assembly comprising:an arcuate shaped axle member operatively connected to the associated frame, said axle member comprising first and second ends; and, a cylindrically shaped first castor pivot member operatively connected to said first end of said axle member, said first castor pivot member comprising first and second ends with first and second castor openings respectively therein for selectively receiving first and second associated castor wheels respectively, said first and second castor openings being a different size; a cylindrically shaped second castor pivot member operatively connected to said second end of said axle member, said second castor pivot member comprising first and second ends with third and fourth castor openings respectively therein for selectively receiving third and fourth associated castor wheels respectively, said third and fourth castor openings being a different size; first, second, third and fourth spacers, said first, second, third and fourth spacers selectively fitting within said first, second, third and fourth castor openings, respectively; and, articulating means for selectively permitting said axle member to articulate with respect to the associated frame, said articulating means comprising: a bushing operatively connected to said axle member; and, a rod, said bushing selectively receiving said rod, the associated frame having a first rod opening for operatively receiving said rod, said axle member selectively pivoting about said rod.
- 12. A mower comprising:a power head; a frame assembly for use in supporting said power head and at least a first associated implement; a power connecting means for use in connecting power from said power head to said at least a first associated implement; two or more wheels operatively connected to said frame for use in providing mobility of said mower; an implement connecting means for use in selectively connecting said first associated implement to said frame assembly; and, an adjustable axle assembly having an arcuate axle member operatively connected to said frame assembly and at least a first caster pivot member operatively connected to said axle member, said at least a first caster pivot member having first and second caster openings for selectively receiving first and second associated caster wheels respectively, wherein said first and second caster openings are of different size.
