Claims
- 1. An apparatus for reproducing information signals from a tape-shaped record bearing medium on which a plurality of channels of information signals and subordinate signals are recorded, each channel of information signals comprising one or more programs, comprising:
- (a) reproducing means for reproducing an information signal of a selected channel among the plurality of channels and the subordinate signals of all of the plurality of channels from said tape-shaped record bearing medium;
- (b) moving means for moving said tape-shaped record bearing medium in the longitudinal direction thereof;
- (c) detection means for detecting leader parts of all programs of the information signals of the plurality of channels by using the subordinate signals reproduced by said reproducing means; and
- (d) mode changing means for changing the apparatus alternately between a first mode in which the information signals are reproduced by said reproducing means and said tape-shaped record bearing medium is moved by said moving means at a predetermined speed and second mode in which said reproducing means does not reproduce the information signals and said moving means moves said medium at a speed faster than said predetermined speed, in response to outputs of said detection means.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the plurality of channels of information signals and the subordinate signals are respectively recorded on one of a plurality of recording areas formed in parallel on said recording medium in the longitudinal direction thereof, and said reproducing means includes a rotary head which is arranged to trace said record bearing medium in such a manner as to traverse the plurality of recording areas.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said mode changing means for changing the mode of the apparatus from said second mode to said first mode is operative in response to detecting each of the leader parts by said detection means.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 3, further comprising channel selection means for selecting the channel from which the information signals are reproduced by said reproducing means.
- 5. An apparatus according to claim 4, wherein said channel selection means selects the channel from which the leader part of a program is detected in response to detecting the leader part by said detection means.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 3, wherein said mode changing means changes the mode of the apparatus from said first mode to said second mode after the lapse of a predetermined period of time from the change of the mode of the apparatus from said second mode to said first mode.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of channels of the subordinate signals contains an information indicative of a program number of each of the plurality of channels of the information signals;
- and said detecting means is arranged to detect a change in the program number of each of the plurality of channels of the information signals.
- 8. An apparatus for reproducing information signals from a tape-shaped record bearing medium on which a plurality of channels of information signals and subordinate signals are recorded, each channel of information signals comprising one or more programs, comprising:
- (a) reproducing means for reproducing an information signal of a selected channel among the plurality of channels and the subordinate signals of all of the plurality of channels from said tape-shaped record bearing medium;
- (b) detection means for detecting leader parts of all programs of the information signals of the plurality of channels by using the subordinate signals reproduced by said reproducing means; and
- (c) channel selection means for selecting a channel from which the information signal is reproduced by said reproducing means, said channel selection means selecting the channel from which the leader part of a program is detected in response to detecting the leader part by said detection means.
- 9. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein each of the plurality of channels of the subordinate signals contains an information indicative of a program number of each of the plurality of channels of the information signals;
- and said detecting means is arranged to detect a change in the program number of each of the plurality of channels of the information signals.
- 10. An apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the plurality of channels of information signals and the subordinate signals are respectively recorded on one of a plurality of recording areas formed in parallel on said recording medium in the longitudinal direction thereof, and said reproducing means includes a rotary head which is arranged to trace said record bearing medium in such a manner as to traverse the plurality of recording areas.
