The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
The present invention relates generally to the field of garments and more specifically relates to multi-function lower-body garments.
Conventional comfort wear shorts are often wide or loose at the leg and are prone to riding up when sitting and sleeping. This may cause issues to the wearer as the comfort shorts become irritating, painful, and revealing, especially for those people who prefer to sleep without undergarments. Further, legging-style shorts can be too tight around the waist and too revealing for those people who prefer to sleep without undergarments.
Some people may opt for bottom undergarments without front and back sewing, but such garments are typically too short and tight and cannot be worn in public or in front of other people at home. Thus, a suitable solution is desired.
U.S. Pub. No. 2013/0047318 to Kelli Diane Grate relates to a flattering convertible casual/sleep pants. The described flattering convertible casual/sleep pants includes a multi-use garment that is flattering while also providing warmth and sleep comfort. The pants can be worn for sleep or lounging during cool weather, and yet convert to a flattering style that is appropriate for casual wear in public. These pants have ribbed cuffs at the ankles, which can be used in two ways: 1) the cuffs can be pulled down over the feet for warmth while sleeping or lounging; or 2) the cuffs can be worn at the ankle with the drapey pants fabric hanging down around them, hiding the cuffs underneath and making them appropriate to be worn in public. Further, the cuffs can be turned up or down, easily accommodating both longer and shorter legs.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known garments art, the present disclosure provides a novel multi-function garment. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a multi-function garment useful for wear by a human-user during a plurality of activities.
A multi-function garment is disclosed herein. The multi-function garment includes a base-layer made from a fabric material. The base-layer may be defined by a waist-portion, a right leg-portion, a left-leg portion and a crotch-portion relative the human-user, and the right leg-portion, the left leg-portion and the crotch-portion may be connected via a single crotch-seam. The waist-portion may include a waist-band configured to loosely encircle the waist of the human-user during wear. Further, the right leg-portion may include a first tapered-bottom configured to tightly encircle the right leg of the human-user during the wear, and similarly, the left leg-portion may include a second tapered-bottom configured to tightly encircle the left leg of the human-user during the wear.
A method of using the multi-function garment is also disclosed herein. The method of using the multi-function garment may comprise the steps of: providing a multi-function garment as above; inserting a right leg of the human-user through the waist-portion of the multi-function garment; inserting a left leg of the human-user through the waist-portion of the multi-function garment; pulling the multi-function garment up a lower-body of the human-user such that the waist-band loosely encircles the waist of the human-user, the right leg-portion tightly encircles the right leg of the human-user and the left leg-portion tightly encircles the left leg of the human-user; and wearing the multi-function garment during a plurality of activities.
For purposes of summarizing the invention, certain aspects, advantages, and novel features of the invention have been described herein. It is to be understood that not necessarily all such advantages may be achieved in accordance with any one particular embodiment of the invention. Thus, the invention may be embodied or carried out in a manner that achieves or optimizes one advantage or group of advantages as taught herein without necessarily achieving other advantages as may be taught or suggested herein. The features of the invention which are believed to be novel are particularly pointed out and distinctly claimed in the concluding portion of the specification. These and other features, aspects, and advantages of the present invention will become better understood with reference to the following drawings and detailed description.
The figures which accompany the written portion of this specification illustrate embodiments and methods of use for the present disclosure, a multi-function garment, constructed and operative according to the teachings of the present disclosure.
The various embodiments of the present invention will hereinafter be described in conjunction with the appended drawings, wherein like designations denote like elements.
As discussed above, embodiments of the present disclosure relate to garments and more particularly to a multi-function garment as used to improve the functionality of garments used to provide comfort during a plurality of activities.
Generally disclosed is a versatile and comfortable pair of shorts, pants, capris, or all-in-one suit that can be worn to sleep, work out, run errands, and more. The garment may feature a loose-fitting waist, tight-fitting legs, and no front and back sewing for superior comfort, protection, and privacy without the need to wear underwear. This may eliminate the need to wear traditional loungewear, athletic wear, and other garments that ride up with movement.
The present disclosure may offer a shorts or pants version, which can be offered in different lengths, like capris and Bermuda shorts, to accommodate all users' needs, and may be worn by both men and women. The pair of shorts may be worn without undergarments, thus increasing a person's overall level of comfort. This level of comfort may be achieved via a loose fit around the waist and crotch area without being excessively large; a tight fit around the legs; and a lack of front and back sewing. The garment may be made from tube cloth to minimize seams and reduce manufacturing costs. The tube cloth may be cut at a desired length and a seam may be sewed from the inner leg to the crotch to the other inner leg. The seam may resemble a U-like shape with smooth or right angles which does not fit too tightly around the crotch area.
Leg portions of the garment may be tight fitting and may include elastics, drawstrings, lace, or other systems to ensure the tight fit remains, allowing wearers to forgo underwear without compromising privacy. The waistband may be made from elastic or include drawstrings, lace, or other systems for a proper, loose fit. Further, the garment may be offered in a wide range of materials, which can be slightly stretchy, including jersey knit, silky, cotton, mesh, and more to accommodate the plurality of activities.
Referring now more specifically to the drawings by numerals of reference, there is shown in
