Claims
- 1. A multi-location control apparatus for use with a multi-location television conference system that has a plurality of multi-location television conference terminal units disposed at at least three, each of said television conference terminal units for transmitting and receiving sound data and image data, said multi-location control apparatus being adapted for switching and controlling the sound data and the image data transmitted among all of said television conference terminal units, said multi-location control apparatus comprising:
- switching and outputting means for inputting the image data of all of said conference rooms from all of said television conference terminal units and for switching and outputting the image data of any conference room to each of said television conference terminal units independent of other television conference terminal units; and
- control means for controlling said switching and outputting means so that when a switching request for displaying an image of a desired conference room is issued from a particular television conference terminal units, the image data to be transmitted to this particular television conference terminal unit is switched to the desired image data by the particular television conference terminal unit.
- 2. A multi-location control apparatus for use with a multi-location television conference system that has a plurality of multi-location television conference terminal units disposed at at least three locations, each of said television conference terminal units for transmitting and receiving sound data and image data, said multi-location control apparatus for switching and controlling the sound data and the image data transmitted among all of said television conference terminal units, said multi-location control apparatus comprising:
- first mode designating means having a first mode and a second mode, said first mode for selecting the image data of a conference room displayed at a television conference terminal unit independent of the other television conference terminal units, said second mode for forcedly selecting the image data of a conference room displayed at a television conference terminal unit corresponding to an occurrence of a predetermined event of another television conference terminal unit:
- second mode designating means for designating one of said first mode and said second mode to each of said conference rooms corresponding to a mode designating request received from said television conference terminal units of each of said conference rooms;
- switching and outputting means for inputting the image data of all of said conference rooms from all of said television conference terminal units, and for switching and outputting the image data of any conference room to each of said television conference terminal units independent of the other television conference terminal units;
- first control means for controlling said switching and outputting means so that when a switching request for displaying an image of a desired conference room is issued from a particular television conference terminal unit that has been designated to said first mode, the image data to be transmitted to the particular television conference terminal unit is switched to the desired image data by the particular television conference terminal unit; and
- second control means for controlling said switching and outputting means so that when said event takes place in said particular television conference terminal unit, said image data to be transmitted to said television conference terminal unit that have been designated to said second mode is switched to the image data of said particular television conference terminal unit.
- 3. The multi-location control apparatus as set forth in claim 2, wherein:
- said event is a detection of a speaking conference room;
- wherein said second mode designating means designates an automatic switching enable mode to a conference room when receiving an automatic switching request from said television conference terminal unit of the conference room that has been designated to said second mode; and
- said second control means controls said switching and outputting means so that when a speech is detected by said particular television conference terminal unit at said particular conference room, the image data to be transmitted to said television conference terminal units of said conference rooms that have been designated to said second mode and said automatic switching enable mode is switched to the image data received from said particular television conference terminal unit.
- 4. The multi-location control apparatus as set forth in claim 2, further comprising:
- main conference room designating means for selecting and designating a main conference room from all of said conference rooms; and
- mode changing means for forcedly changing modes of all of said conference rooms managed by said first mode designating means to one of said first mode and said second mode designated by said particular television conference terminal unit at said particular conference room when said particular conference room is said main conference room.
- 5. The multi-location control apparatus as set forth in claim 2, further comprising:
- displaying conference room managing means for receiving switching information from said first and second control means so as to manage information concerning said conference rooms displayed on said television conference terminal units at said conference rooms;
- transferring means for seeking a conference room whose image is being displayed on said particular television conference terminal unit at said particular conference room with reference to stored information in said displaying conference room managing means and for transferring said camera control information to said particular television conference terminal unit when receiving camera control information from said particular television conference terminal unit at said particular conference room.
- 6. A multi-location control apparatus for use with a multi-location television conference system that has a plurality of television conference terminal units disposed at at least three locations, each of the television conference terminal units transmitting and receiving sound data and image data, said multi-location control apparatus switching and outputting the sound data and the image data transmitted among all of the television conference terminal units, said multi-location control apparatus comprising:
- receiving means for receiving the image data of all of conference rooms from all of the television conference terminal units;
- distributing means for distributing the image data of any conference room received by said receiving means to each of the television conference terminal units independent of other television conference terminal units; and
- control means for controlling said distributing means such that the image data from a first television conference terminal unit of the plurality of television conference terminal units is distributed to a second television conference terminal unit of the plurality of television conference terminal units, when a request for displaying an image of conference room at which the first television conference terminal unit being disposed is issued from the second television conference terminal unit.
- 7. A method of controlling a multi-location control apparatus for use with a multi-location conference system that has a plurality of conference units disposed at at least three locations, comprising:
- receiving image data of a conference from all of the conference units;
- distributing the image data of any conference received to each of the conference units independent of other conference units; and
- controlling distribution of the image data such that the image data from a first conference unit of the plurality of conference units is distributed to a second conference unit of the plurality of conference units, when a request for displaying an image of a conference at which the first conference unit being disposed is issued from the second conference unit.
