Claims
- 1. A multi-point initiation system for an explosive comprising:
- a non-explosive strip line lead;
- a plurality of detonators fixed to said lead at predetermined spacing, each said detonator including an initiator and booster explosive of low enough volatility to preclude the necessity for a mechanical safe-arm device between said detonators and an explosive; and
- means electrically connected to said detonators through said lead for independently actuating each said detonator.
- 2. A multi-point explosive system for a warhead comprising:
- a cast explosive;
- a non-explosive stripline lead including a plurality of point detonators fixed to said lead at predetermined positions cast in said explosive in a manner to place said detonators at desired locations in said explosive and without a mechanical safe-arm device between said detonators and said explosive; and
- means electrically connected to said detonators through said lead for independently actuating each said detonator.
- 3. The system of claim 1 or 2 where said detonators are foil initiators.
- 4. The system of claim 1 or 2, wherein a detonating force of said detonators is supplied by hexanitrostilbene explosive.
