Claims
- 1. A removable part of a keyboard, comprising:
a keyboard foundation; a plurality of keyboard keys held by the keyboard foundation; and identification data for indicating computer software particularly associated with the removable part of the keyboard, the identification data stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the removable part of the keyboard is adapted to be combined with a fixed part of the keyboard.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more connectors held by the keyboard foundation, at least one of the one or more data connectors for communicating the identification data.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein the one or more connectors includes one or more wireless transmitters.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the computer software associated with the removable part of the keyboard includes at least one of the following: one or more programs, one or more applications, and one or more operations.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more integrated circuits stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more integrated circuits.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more electro-optics stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more electro-optics.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more mechanical members stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more mechanical members.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more mechanical members such that mechanical force at least partly caused by at least one of the one or more mechanical members communicates the identification data.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more passive circuits stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more passive circuits.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:
one or more permanent contacts coupled to the keyboard foundation, wherein the identification data is stored in at least one of the one or more permanent contacts.
- 11. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the removable part of a keyboard is foldable.
- 12. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the identification data is configured for smart card applications.
- 13. A keyboard, comprising:
a removable part of the keyboard, including:
a keyboard foundation; a plurality of keyboard keys held by the keyboard foundation; and identification data for indicating computer software particularly associated with the removable part of the keyboard, the identification data stored in the keyboard foundation, wherein the removable part of the keyboard is adapted to be combined with a fixed part of the keyboard; and the fixed part of a keyboard, including:
a keyboard base adapted to be combined with the removable part of the keyboard; a plurality of one or more contacts coupled to the keyboard base, wherein the plurality of one or more contacts receives input data from the plurality of keyboard keys of the removable part of the keyboard; one or more data connectors for communicating to a computer the input data and the identification data.
- 14. A computer system, comprising:
a processor; a removable part of a keyboard, including:
a keyboard foundation; a plurality of keyboard keys held by the keyboard foundation; and identification data for indicating computer software associated with the removable part of the keyboard, the identification data coupled to the keyboard foundation, wherein the removable part of the keyboard is adapted to be combined with a fixed part of the keyboard; and the fixed part of a keyboard, including:
a keyboard base adapted to be combined with the removable part of the keyboard; one or more contacts coupled to the keyboard base, wherein the one or more contacts receives input data from the plurality of keyboard keys of the removable part of the keyboard; one or more data connectors for communicating to the processor the input data and the identification data.
- 15. The apparatus of claim 14, further comprising:
software executed by the processor, the software specifically associated with the removable part of the keyboard.
