- pickup means for generating signals based on information recorded on said disk;
- demodulation means for generating multi-scene configuration data by demodulating signals generated by said pickup means, said multi-scene configuration data being based on said multi-scene configuration information recorded in said management area of said disk;
- management data storage means for storing said multi-scene configuration data generated by said demodulation means;
- menu generating means for generating, on the basis of said multi-scene configuration data, a menu advising a user to input secret key data; and
- information reproducing means for reproducing a string including the first, fourth and third program information items when said secret key data is input in response to said menu, wherein said information reproducing means reproduces a string including said first, second and third program information items when said secret key data is not input in response to said menu.
- 2. A method of reproducing information from a multi-scene recording medium including a disk having a management area and a data area, said data area recording a first program information item, a second program information item following said first program information item, a third program information item following said second program information item, and a fourth program information item for replacing said second program information item, said management area recording multi-scene configuration information indicating that said second and fourth program information items are linked to each other, data units of said second program information item and data units of said fourth program information item being alternatingly and continuously recorded on said recording medium, said method comprising the steps of:
- reading information from said disk and generating pickup signals based on said information;
- generating multi-scene configuration data by demodulating said pickup signals, said multi-scene configuration data being based on said multi-scene configuration information recorded in said management area of said disk;
- storing said multi-scene configuration data;
- generating, on the basis of the multi-scene configuration data, a first menu advising a user to input secret key data when there are program information items linked to each other;
- reproducing a string including said first, fourth and third program information items when said secret key data is input in response to said menu; and
- reproducing a string including said first, second and third program information items when said secret key data is not input in response to said menu.
- 3. An apparatus as recited by claim 1, wherein reproduction of the string to be reproduced starts from a head portion of a data unit of the second or fourth program information item therein when the string to be reproduced changes while the second or fourth program information item is being reproduced.
- 4. An apparatus as recited by claim 1, wherein reproduction of the string to be reproduced starts from a head portion of a data unit of a third program information item of the string to be reproduced when the string to be reproduced changes while the second or fourth program information item is being reproduced.
- 5. A method as recited by claim 2, wherein reproduction of the string to be reproduced starts from a head portion of a data unit of the second or fourth program information item therein when the string to be reproduced changes while the second or fourth program information item is being reproduced.
- 6. A method as recited by claim 2, wherein reproduction of the string to be reproduced starts from a head portion of a data unit of a third program information item of the string to be reproduced when the string to be reproduced changes while the second or fourth program information item is being reproduced.
- 7. An apparatus as recited by claim 1, wherein said secret key data includes password data.
- 8. A method as recited by claim 2, wherein said secret key data includes password data.
- 9. An apparatus for reproducing information from a multi-scene recording medium including a disk having a management area and a data area, said data area recording at least two alternatively selectable second program information items, a first program information item preceding said second program information items and a third program information item following said second program information items, said management area recording multi-scene configuration information indicating that said second program information items are linked to each other, said apparatus comprising:
- pickup means for generating signals based on information recorded on said disk;
- demodulation means for generating multi-scene configuration data by demodulating signals generated by said pickup means, said multi-scene configuration data being based on said multi-scene configuration information recorded in said management area of said disk;
- management data storage means for storing said multi-scene configuration data generated by said demodulation means;
- menu generating means for generating, on the basis of said multi-scene configuration data, a menu advising a user to input secret key data; and
- information reproducing means for reproducing one of said at least two alternatively selectable second program information items based on said secret key data input in response to said menu.
- 10. An apparatus as recited by claim 9, wherein said second program information items are recorded alternatingly and continuously in said data area.
- 11. An apparatus as recited by claim 9, wherein said first, second and third program information items include video data.
- 12. An apparatus as recited by claim 11, wherein said second program information items represent different views of a same scene.
- 13. A method for reproducing information from a multi-scene recording medium including a disk having a management area and a data area, said data area recording at least two alternatively selectable second program information items, a first program information item preceding said second program information items and a third program information item following said second program information items, said management area recording multi-scene configuration information indicating that said second program information items are linked to each other, said method comprising:
- reading information from said disk and generating pickup signals based on said information;
- generating multi-scene configuration data by demodulating said pickup signals, said multi-scene configuration data being based on said multi-scene configuration information recorded in said management area of said disk;
- storing said multi-scene configuration data; generating, on the basis of the multi-scene configuration data, a first menu advising a user to input secret key data when there are program information items linked to each other; and
- reproducing one of said at least two alternatively selectable second program information items based on said secret key data input in response to said menu.
- 14. A method as recited by claim 13, wherein said second program information items are recorded alternatingly and continuously in said data area.
- 15. A method as recited by claim 13, wherein said first, second and third program information items include video data.
- 16. A method as recited by claim 15, wherein said second program information items represent different views of a same scene.
