Claims
- 1. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus including a raw material supplying portion, a supporting portion, a molding portion, a mixing portion and a control portion; said raw material supplying portion including a plurality of reservoirs, said reservoirs being connected independently with said mixing portion through conduits; said supporting portion including a base surface with generally parallel spaced upstanding end sections, a plurality of frame members each with a large open central area disposed between said upstanding end sections and rotatably supported thereon; said molding portion being rotatably supported within said frame members, said molding portion including at least one rotatable mold assembly, said mold assembly including at least two separable mold sections and a mold section orientor therefor, said mold sections including at least one monitor including at least two optical fiber elements extending through said mold sections with one end of each optical fiber element terminating at a mold cavity forming surface of a mold section and an end of each optical fiber element terminating at a remote second surface thereof, a signal generator disposed adjacent a remote surface end of one optical fiber element; a signal sensor disposed adjacent a remote surface end of another optical fiber element; said mixing portion including a through flow mixing chamber mounted adjacent said molding portion, a continuous raw material mixer disposed within said chamber; said control portion including circuitry transmitting signals from said sensor to a coordinator for comparison with programmable memory and activation of an actuator to control a mold assembly rotator in a preselected multiaxis mold rotational profile.
- 2. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said frame members are rotatable about at least three axes.
- 3. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal generator includes a light generator.
- 4. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal generator includes a sound generator.
- 5. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal generator includes a laser.
- 6. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal sensor includes a light sensor.
- 7. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal sensor includes a photocell.
- 8. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal sensor includes a heat sensor.
- 9. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal sensor includes sonar.
- 10. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein at least one optical fiber is disposed in each mold section.
- 11. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein a plurality of optical fibers are located in said mold sections.
- 12. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 including an optical fiber probe member movable into said mold cavity.
- 13. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 12 wherein said probe member is a deformable probe member.
- 14. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 12 wherein said probe member is an electrically conductive probe member.
- 15. Multiaxis rotational molding apparatus according to claim 1 wherein said signal generating optical fiber element and said signal sensing optical fiber element are combined in a probe member.
