Claims
- 1. An intraocular lens having a configuration which provides a central far vision correction zone, a near vision correction zone circumscribing the central zone, an additional far vision correction zone circumscribing the near vision correction zone, and transition zones between the central zone and the near zone and between the near zone and the additional far vision correction zone, provided that the optical powers in the transition zones change continuously.
- 2. The lens of claim 1 wherein the optical power of at least one of the central zone, the near zone and the additional far vision correction zone continuously varies within the zone.
- 3. The lens of claim 1 wherein the optical power of each of the central zone, the near zone and the additional far vision correction zone continuously varies within the zone.
- 4. The lens of claim 1 wherein the transition zone between the central zone and the near zone has a radial width which is larger than a radial width of the transition zone between the near zone and the additional far vision correction zone.
- 5. The lens of claim 1 wherein the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones are concentric annular zones.
- 6. The lens of claim 2 wherein the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones are concentric annular zones.
- 7. The lens of claim 3 wherein the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones are concentric annular zones.
- 8. The lens of claim 4 wherein the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones are concentric annular zones.
- 9. The lens of claim 1 which has vision correction zones consisting essentially of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 10. The lens of claim 2 which has vision correction zones consisting essentially of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 11. The lens of claim 3 which has vision correction zones consisting essentially of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 12. The lens of claim 4 which has vision correction zones consisting essentially of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 13. The lens of claim 5 which has vision correction zones consisting essentially of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 14. The lens of claim 1 which has vision correction zones consisting of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 15. The lens of claim 2 which has vision correction zones consisting of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 16. The lens of claim 3 which has vision correction zones consisting of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 17. The lens of claim 4 which has vision correction zones consisting of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
- 18. The lens of claim 5 which has vision correction zones consisting of the central zone, the near zone, the additional far vision correction zone and the transition zones.
