Description
TECHNICAL FIELD

The present invention relates to a hair brush, and more particularly, to a multifunctional brush for scalp care using low-temperature air, which are different from conventional hair dryers using high-temperature air.

TECHNICAL FIELD

People spend much time and effort taking care of their appearance, in particular, their face and hair. The scalp and hair act as a buffer against external shocks and help to protect the human body from ultraviolet rays and the cold. In particular, hair is an importance factor to people's appearance. Accordingly, anyone wants to have thick elastic hair.

However, physical attractiveness may not result from taking care of only hair. Another important factor for physical attractiveness is health. Accordingly, efforts are required to keep the scalp essential to hair growth healthy.

In general, people wash their scalp and hair with shampoo, dry their hair with a towel and then, use a hairdryer for drying, styling and curling hair almost every day to keep their scalp and hair clean and to make their hair look beautiful. Conventional hairdryers supply hot-temperature air directly to hair to dry and style (curl) hair. They are not used for scalp care which is helpful for hair growth.

Conventional hairdryers which dry and style (curl) hair by supplying hot-temperature air directly to hair have an advantage of speeding up the process of drying and curling hair. However, because such hairdryers supply hot-temperature air directly to hair, the scalp and hair may be excessively dry and may be damaged. Accordingly, when they are used to dry hair, they should remain at a certain distance away from hair not to damage hair. This is why conventional hairdryers are used just for drying hair but for caring the scalp.

Meanwhile, for instance, unlike conventional hairdryers described above, Korean Patent No. 10-1076057 (Korean Patent Application No. 10-2011-0076705) discloses multifunctional hair brush invented by JOONGANGBUITECH CO., LTD. in relation to a multifunctional brush for scalp care.

Korean Patent No. 10-1076057, as illustrated in FIG. 1, relates to a multifunctional comb provided with optical fiber bristles 40 which consist of optical fibers and are installed at a bed 20 with through-holes 21 formed to be regularly spaced such that ultraviolet rays radiated by a UV LED lamp 30 emit on the scalp and hair through the through-holes 21 formed at the optical fiber bristles 40 and the bed 20 thereof, thereby capable of sterilizing the scalp and hair, provided with a vibrator 50 for making the bed vibrate such that the scalp may be massaged through the optical fiber bristles which vibrate together with the bed 20, and provided with a blowing fan 60 for blowing air through the through-holes formed at the bed such that hair may be dried.

In more detail, Korean Patent No. 10-1076057 includes a comb body 10 having an accommodation space 11; a bed 20 which consists of materials with a certain level of elasticity, encloses the upper portion and has through-holes 21 formed to be regularly spaced; a UV LED lamp 30 which is placed in the accommodation space and radiates ultraviolet rays by using provide power; optical fiber bristles 40 which have a certain length for brushing hair, is installed to be regularly spaced on the bed and consists of optical fibers, whose one end is placed in the rear direction such that the light radiated by the UV LED lamp may come in and whose other side has a plurality of optical fiber bristles 40 protruding forward from the bed; a vibrator 50 for vibrating the bed by using provided power; a blowing fan 60 which is placed in the accommodation space, rotates by using provided power and blows air toward the bed so as to release air outwardly through-holes; a power supply unit 100 for supplying power to the UV LED lamp, the vibrator and the blowing fan; and an operation switch 200 which is provided at the outer side of the comb body and controls power supply of the power supply unit through the user's operation.

Unlike conventional hairdryers, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 described above does not use any heating element, but blows room-temperature air on hair through the through-holes such that hair is prevented from being damaged by heat while the optical fiber bristles 40 radiate ultraviolet rays emitted by the UV LED lamp 30 to help to directly deliver the radiated ultraviolet rays to the scalp. Accordingly, the ultraviolet rays radiated through the through-holes 21 are delivered to hair, and the ultraviolet rays radiated by the bristles 40 are delivered to the scalp such that the scalp and hair may be evenly sterilized. Further, the bristles 40 for combing hair play a role of delivering vibration of the bed to the scalp.

A multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 described above functions not only as a common comb but also as a comb for sterilizing, massaging or crying the scalp and hair. In particular, unlike conventional hairdryers which supply hot-temperature air to hair at a certain distance away from hair to dry hair, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 is effective in taking care of the scalp as well as hair by emitting room-temperature air and ultraviolet rays.

The multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 includes a blowing fan 30 as an element but does not disclose an air intake opening although the multifunctional comb needs a sizeable air intake opening to attract external air into the accommodation space 11 such that the blowing fan circulates air. In addition, if the multifunctional comb included an air intake opening, the accommodation space 11 would be an opened space due to the air intake opening. Accordingly, even if the blowing fan operates, the pressure at which air is blown does not act with the small-sized through-holes 21 of the bristles. This results in the counter-flow of air together with loud noise. Further, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 discloses bristles 40 consisting of optical fibers capable of delivering ultraviolet rays emitted by a UV LED lamp. However, a material used in the data communication field such as optical communication cables is not an appropriate material to manufacture hairbrush bristles requiring stiffness because optical fibers are inorganic fibers with a certain level of elasticity. Further, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 only lists elements such as a blowing fan, an accommodation space 11 and a vibrator 50 without disclosing how the blowing fan is installed in a relatively small accommodation space 11, and how the vibrator 50 vibrates the bed in detail and without disclosing technical features that can be proved by repetitive experiments. Accordingly it is doubtful whether the multifunctional comb is commercially available.

Further, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 includes optical fiber bristles 40 which have a certain length, is installed at a bed 20 and is used for combing hair and whose one end allows ultraviolet rays radiated by an LED lamp to come in. To do so, one end of the optical fiber bristles 40 should come into direct contact with the light source of an LED lamp to allow the light to come in. That is, the multifunctional comb is thought to have a configuration in which the optical fiber bristles 40, the LED lamp and the drive PCB thereof etc. are integrally fixed. When it comes to such a configuration, it is difficult to configure the optical fiber bristles 40 and it is difficult to replace the optical fiber bristles in the case that the optical fiber bristles 40 are contaminated or damaged.

Further, the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 has no advantage similar to that of conventional hairdryers using hot-temperature air because the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 does not include any heating element. Further, the multifunctional comb does not disclose how a low-temperature heating element would be installed in a brush-type accommodation space 11 which is relatively flat and has a small volume, and how such a heating element is located with respect to and organically related to other essential elements such as the blowing fan, the drive motor of the blowing fan, the vibrator, the LED lamp, the PCB etc., if the multifunctional comb included a low-temperature heating element to supply to the scalp air of 40° C. or so which is similar to the body temperature.

Like the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057, the present invention relates to a multifunctional brush for taking care of the scalp as well as hair. However, the present invention is different from the multifunctional comb according to Korean patent No. 10-1076057 in that the present invention is commercially available and the present invention is provide as a means to solve the above-described structural and functional problems.

The present invention relates to a brush for scalp care which is capable of taking care of the hair root at the optimum temperature by directly emitting on the scalp and hair light of an LED and low-temperature air which has a temperature similar to or a little higher than the body temperature. In particular, the present invention provides an optimum brush-type device for scalp care having a configuration in which a heater as a low-temperature heating element, a drive motor and a blowing fan as elements for blowing air, an air intake opening and an air discharge opening, a drive PCB are organically arranged (combined) and related to each other in a compact way, and common power-cord-connection methods for inputting and using 110V to 220V power supply for households plus wireless power supply methods for using 3-10V, 2-8 Ah of lithium-ion secondary cell batteries and the configuration of a vibrator are possibly applied. As illustrated in these drawings and FIG. 12 that will be described hereunder, the end portion of the bristles 94 has a semi-spherical or spherical shape such that the bristles softly contact and massage the scalp while vibrating and brushing hair thereby helping improve blood circulation.

As illustrated in these drawings, a multifunctional brush for scalp care 200 according to the present invention includes a handle H formed integrally with the head 30 to extend in a direction perpendicular to the directions in which each component installed in the head is installed and in which air flows, an alternating current (AC) power source connection socket 122 for providing and using power sources for households provided at the end portion of the handle, and a lithium-ion polymer battery 124 provided inside the handle such that the lithium-ion polymer battery 124 is charged through AC power sources for households. Accordingly, a multifunctional brush for scalp care 200 according to the present invention may become portable and available through the charged power of the lithium-ion polymer battery 124 without using power codes. The capacity of the lithium-ion polymer battery 124 used for a multifunctional brush for scalp care 200 according to the present invention ranges from 3-10V, 2-8 A.

Reference numeral 126 denotes an AC power-source-connection plug for households, reference numeral 128 denotes an operation button, and reference numeral 130 denotes a signal lamp revealing operation conditions. Further, reference numerals 132, 134 respectively denote AC power source PCB and DC power source PCB, and a multifunctional brush for scalp care 200 may selectively use not only AC power sources but also lithium-ion polymer batteries 124 that are secondary cell batteries. Circuit design of each of the boards will not be described and illustrated in detail because those skilled in the related art are well aware of the circuit design. The present invention blows air with a low temperature similar to the human body temperature unlike conventional hair dryers which blows high-temperature air. As described hereunder in detail, although low power lithium-ion polymer batteries 124 are used, low-temperature air is generated by the ceramic heater unit 50, and the blowing fan 70, the vibration motor 100 and an LED lamp 110 (FIG. 6) operates together for not less than 10 minutes because the blowing fan 70 designed to increases the amount of blown air is used. According to the present invention, air heated by the ceramic heater unit 50 and discharged from the air discharge opening 22 is low-temperature air having temperatures of 35° C. to 46° C.

FIG. 6 is an exploded perspective view of main parts installed inside a brush body, in which a ceramic heater unit 50 a motor shaft 44 of a blowing fan penetrates, a cylindrical air-intake-concentration housing 60, a blowing fan 70 and a blowing fan cover 80 are illustrated in order of the combination thereof according to a multifunctional brush of scalp care 200 of the present invention.

The blowing fan cover 80 includes a central ring-shaped cylinder 82 inside the blowing fan cover, an outer ring-shaper cylinder 84 and a plurality of tilted wing blades 86 connecting the central ring-shaped cylinder 82 and the outer ring-shaped cylinder 84 radially, in the radial direction. According to the present invention, an LED Lamp and the PCB thereof with wavelengths of 630 nm to 660 nm helpful for Vitamin D synthesis are installed inside the central ring-shaped cylinder 82. As described above, according to a multifunctional brush 200 for scalp care of the present invention, the Led Lamp and the PCB 110 thereof are installed at the center of the lower body 20 of the brush head to be exposed outwardly and the distance between the scalp and the air discharge opening is minimized (less than 10 mm, preferably, less than 5 mm). Accordingly, the present invention has a configuration for improving effectiveness in a scalp massage using low-temperature air. Further, according to a multifunctional brush 200 for scalp care of the present invention, air supplied by the blowing fan 70, as described hereunder, is smoothly discharged from radial gaps between the tilted wing blades 86 of the blowing fan cover 80 rather than the center of the blowing fan cover 80 thanks to the configuration of the specially designed blowing fan 70 and the configuration of the above-described blowing fan cover 80 such that great resistance to air blow is avoidable although the LED lamp and the PCB 110 thereof are positioned at the center of the lower body of the brush head. It is as if the LED lamp and the PCB thereof are positioned at the eye of a typhoon.

FIG. 7 shows a plan view, an elevation, a perspective view and a perspective view of the rake structure of a blowing fan 70 used for a multifunctional brush for scalp care according to the present invention, and FIG. 8 is a view in which a blowing fan C used for a multifunctional brush for scalp care according to the present invention is compared with conventional blowing fans A, B when it comes to the speed at which wind is blown.

As illustrated in detail in FIG. 7, the blowing fan 70 according to the present invention includes a cylindrical central hub 72 inserted into and fixed to the drive shaft 44 of the blowing fan motor 40; a plurality of fan wings 74 extending from an outer circumferential surface of the central hub against the central axis of the central hub radially, at a tilted angle, in the radial direction; and rake-type tip wings 76, for increasing amounts of air blown, integrally bent to extend from end portions of the fan wings to form a right or an acute angle with the fan wings at the outer end portions of the fan wings in the racial direction, wherein the tip wings have curved surfaces corresponding to curvature of an inner circumferential surface the cylindrical air-intake-concentration housing 60. Further, reference numeral 78 denotes assistant projection wings formed to protrude on the upper surface of the fan wings 74 in the width direction of the fan wings for inducing air flow, and the assistant projection wings have a projection height H1 smaller than the height H2 of the top wings 76 formed at the ends of the fan wings (H1custom-character H2). The configuration in which the blowing fans have triple wings (fan wings+assistant projection wings+tip wings) according to the present invention helps improve straightness and speed of air discharge even with low power.

That is, as illustrated in FIG. 8, when the blowing fans C of a multifunctional brush for scalp care according to the present invention is compared with conventional blowing fans A, B when it comes to the amount of blown air (the speed at which air is blown), the flowing fans according to the present invention are compared with two conventional flowing fans having identical specifications by using the same low power when it comes to the speed at which air is blown. The results slow that the speeds of the conventional flowing fans are 2.7 m/sec, 4.2 m/sec while the speed of the flowing fans according to the present invention is 6.7 m/sec. Accordingly, the flowing fans according to the present invention has a speed 1.5 to 2.5 times faster than that of the conventional blowing fans. On the basis of such results, low-power lithium-ion secondary cell batteries may be used and the blowing fan 40 may be designed to consume less power to drive the blowing fan. Accordingly, the size of the other elements may be minimized such that a compact multifunctional brush for scalp care consuming less power may be embodied.
