Claims
- 1. A first filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface;
- a second filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface, said inner surface of said first layer and said inner surface of said second layer being arranged in opposed relationship to each other and defining a space therebetween; and
- a plurality of ribbons, spaced from each other and spanning said space defined by said opposed inner surface of said first layer and said inner surface of said second layer, each said ribbon having two ends, one of said ends being ultrasonically welded to said inner surface of said first filter layer and the other of said two ends being ultrasonically welded to said inner surface of said second filter layer.
- 2. A first filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface as claimed in claim 1 with each of said two ends of each said plurality of ribbons includes a bent section to provide a surface to weld each of said plurality of ribbons to said first and second filter layers.
- 3. A first filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface as claimed in claim 1 wherein said plurality of ribbons are spaced equidistantly from each other.
- 4. A first filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface as claimed in claim 1 wherein at least one of said first filter layer and said second filter layer is constructed by non-woven material.
- 5. A first filter layer having an inner surface and an outer surface as claimed in claim 1 wherein said plurality of ribbons are constructed of non-woven material.
