Claims
- 1. An airflow controller for a propulsion inlet system comprising:
a bleed section having two or more bleed plenum chambers, each of said chambers having a porous inlet surface and an exit surface; two or more plates slidably mounted to said bleed section and in fluid communication with the exit surface of said bleed section; and said two or more plates being adjustable in multiple positions with respect to the exit surface of said bleed plenum chambers.
- 2. An airflow controller according to claim 1 wherein said bleed plenum chambers are in fluid communication with a common plenum.
- 3. A airflow controller according to claim 1, wherein a cross-sectional area may be a segment of an annulus rather than rectangular.
- 5. A airflow controller according to claim 1, which may be installed in the cowl of a 2-dimensional inlet.
- 6. A airflow controller according to claim 1, which may be installed in the centerbody of 2-dimensional inlet.
- 7. A airflow controller according to claim 1 in which may be installed in the cowl or centerbody of an axisymmetric inlet.
- 8. A airflow controller that controls airflow from one or more sources, said airflows being controlled by a single movement of the sliding mechanism, said individual airflows being compartmented from each other.
- 9. A airflow controller according to claim 8 that controls fluid flow from one or more sources, said fluids being controlled by a single movement of the sliding mechanism, said individual fluids being compartmented from each other.
- 10. A airflow controller in which the dividers between the bleed chambers are removed to form one large plenum, said bleed airflow from the resulting single plenum being controlled by the multiple exits of the airflow controller.
