Claims
- 1. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising
- image forming means for forming images respectively on plural recording members;
- transfer means for transferring the images on said plural recording members onto a same recording medium;
- control means for controlling said image forming means and said transfer means in such a manner as to form predetermined images respectively in areas of said recording medium divided in a direction substantially perpendicular to the transport direction of said recording medium;
- measuring means for measuring positional errors by detecting the record positions of said predetermined images; and
- regulating means for variably controlling the start timing of said image forming means according to the output of measurement of said measuring means.
- 2. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said image forming means is adapted to form an image with a laser beam on each recording member.
- 3. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said image forming means is adapted to form images of different colors respectively on said recording members.
- 4. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 2, comprising laser beam generating means for each recording member, wherein said regulating means is adapted to regulate the timing of recording with the laser beam by each laser beam generating means.
- 5. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising:
- beam generating means for generating beams for forming images on plural recording members;
- plural deflecting members for deflecting the beams generated by said beam generating means;
- plural actuators for driving said deflecting members;
- plural control means for controlling operation of said plural actuators; and
- frequency signal generating means for supplying a common reference frequency signal to said plural control means for controlling the operation of said actuators.
- 6. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said speed control means is composed of a phase locked loop control circuit.
- 7. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said deflecting member is composed of a rotary polygon mirror.
- 8. A multiple image recording apparatus for forming a multiple image by successively transferring images on plural recording members onto a recording medium, comprising:
- generating means for generating a reference signal indicating the presence of said recording medium at a predetermined position, in the transport path of said recording medium, upstream of the first image transfer position;
- timer means provided for each recording member and adapted to effect a time measuring operation based on said reference signal; and
- control means for starting the recording on each recording member in response to the output of said timer means;
- wherein the number of timer units in each timer means is differently selected according to the distance from said predetermined position to the image transfer position of each recording member.
- 9. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein the number of said timer units is made larger as said distance increases.
- 10. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 8, wherein images of different colors are respectively formed on said plural recording members.
- 11. A multiple image recording apparatus comprising:
- image forming means for forming images on plural recording members;
- transfer means for transferring the images on said plural recording members onto a single recording medium;
- correcting means for correcting positional errors of the images on the plural recording members, said correcting means outputting a signal when a correction operation of said correcting means is impossible; and
- prohibiting means for prohibiting image formation in accordance with said signal from said correcting means.
- 12. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said image forming means is adapted to form images of different colors respectively on said recording members.
- 13. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 11, wherein said correcting means is adapted to regulate the start timing of image formation by said image forming means.
- 14. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 13, wherein said prohibiting means prohibits the correction by said correcting means, when the start timing of image formation exceeds a regulable range.
- 15. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising:
- image forming means for forming images respectively on plural recording members;
- transfer means for transferring the images on said plural recording members onto a single recording medium;
- plural sensors for detecting the positional errors among the images from said plural recording members; and
- a single member for mounting said plural sensors.
- 16. A multiple image recording apparatus according to claim 15, wherein said image forming means is adapted to form images of different colors respectively on said recording members.
- 17. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising:
- image forming means for forming images respectively on plural recording members;
- transfer means for transferring the images on said plural recording members onto a same recording medium;
- plural light-emitting members for detecting the positional errors among the images on said plural recording members; and
- light intensity control means for maintaining the light intensity of said plural light-emitting members at a constant level.
- 18. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said light intensity control means is composed of a constant current circuit for maintaining a constant current in each light-emitting member.
- 19. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 17, wherein said image forming means is adapted to form images of different colors respectively on said recording members.
- 20. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising:
- plural image forming means for forming images of different colors;
- correction means for detecting positional errors of the different-color images formed by said image forming means and correcting the positional errors on the basis of the detected results;
- said plural image forming means including transfer means for transferring the different color images from said plural image forming means on a recording member; and
- control means for controlling said correction means and said transfer means such that said correction means and said transfer means are time-divisionally operated.
- 21. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 20, wherein said plural image forming means form images respectively on the plural recording members.
- 22. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 20, wherein said image forming means forms images of different colors respectively on the recording members.
- 23. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 22, further comprising laser beam generating means for each recording member, wherein said correction means corrects a timing of recording with a laser beam from each laser beam generating means.
- 24. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 20, wherein said correction means comprises a light sensing element for detecting the positional errors of the different color images.
- 25. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 20, wherein said control means comprises detection means for detecting that the correcting operation of said correction means is completed, and controls said transfer means such that said transfer means is operated after the detection of said detection means.
- 26. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 20, wherein the recording member has a sheet-like shape, and said transfer means comprises carry means for carrying the recording member in said plural image forming means.
- 27. A multiple image forming apparatus comprising:
- signal supply means for supplying a color image signal;
- compression means for separating a color component and a lightness component in the color image signal supplied from said signal supply means and data-compressing the separated color and lightness components;
- memory means for storing data compressed by said compression means;
- expansion means for expanding the data read out from said memory means; and
- delivery means for delivering the data expanded by said expansion means to plural image forming means provided corresponding to colors which are used for forming images of different colors.
- 28. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 27, further comprising transfer means for transferring the different-color images from said plural image forming means on a recording member.
- 29. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 27, wherein said signal supply means includes means for converting an original image into the color image signal.
- 30. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 27, wherein said plural image forming means form the images respectively on plural recording members.
- 31. A multiple image forming apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said actuator includes a rotational motor.
