The present invention relates to fabricated building toys. Specifically, the present invention provides for a plurality of coupling blocks made of wood comprising protrusion and coupling grooves for assembly.
The world of children's toys are constantly evolving based on age groups, demographics, interests, and trending topics. The children's play culture is always changing, and children have grown in various aspects to gravitate towards stacking games using various blocks to improve their cognitive and intellectual abilities in the area of science, technology, engineering, and math. The utilization of these skills allows a child to utilize their imaginative functions, in order to recreate, design, and enhance their architectural skills to real life structures. However, Typical structure building toys are often used to be a less scaled model of desired design, and can be structurally complex in designing a plurality of structures without being limited to a particular design. Accordingly, the present disclosure is directed towards providing embodiments and solutions to solve this issue in the art.

As used herein, the term “and/or” includes any and all combinations of one or more of the associated listed items. As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” are intended to include the plural forms as well as the singular forms, unless the context clearly indicates otherwise. It will be further understood that the terms “comprises” and/or “comprising,” when used in this specification, specify the presence of stated features, steps, operations, elements, and/or components, but do not preclude the presence or addition of one or more other features, steps, operations, elements, components, and/or groups thereof.
The following description is not to be taken in a limiting sense but is made merely for the purpose of describing the general principles of exemplary embodiments. Reference throughout this specification to “one embodiment,” “an embodiment,” or similar language means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic described in connection with the embodiment is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, appearances of the phrases “in one embodiment,” “in an embodiment,” and similar language throughout this specification may, but do not necessarily, all refer to the same embodiment.
The preferred embodiment herein described is not intended to be exhaustive or to limit the invention to the precise form disclosed. It is chosen and described to explain the principles of the invention and its application and practical use to enable others skilled in the art to follow its teachings.
The present disclosure provides for a wooden construction assembly. The wooden construction assembly includes a first set of construction units comprising a first plurality of apertures, wherein the first set of construction units is elongated and comprises at least three different lengths. The wooden construction assembly includes a second set of construction units comprising a second plurality of apertures, wherein the second construction unit is triangular and comprise of at least two different area sizes. A first construction unit of the first set of construction units is configured to be placed in the aperture of a second construction unit.
The preferred embodiment of the present disclosure would combine the first set of construction units and the second set of construction units into one system. The system could include at least 86 units to 344 units combining a plurality of the first set of construction units and a plurality of the second set of construction units. Based on the use of the construction units, a variety of structural units can be created from the use of the units that could range from simple to complex.
The apertures of each construction unit are preferably arranged on a consistent grid such that they align with apertures of other construction units in a known pattern regardless of the relative location of one construction unit with respect to another. In other words, because of the consistent apertures alignment, it is not necessary that one construction unit be stacked or otherwise mated to another construction unit at a single particular location. Rather, one construction unit may be shifted relative the other construction unit such that it is mated in one of the next available aperture location.
Furthermore, the matrices contemplated by this invention may be presented in multiple planes. The majority of construction units contemplated are planer. In such cases, one plane may be along the flat horizontal upper and lower surfaces of a construction unit. Another plane may be along the vertical ends or sides of a construction unit. In this regard, construction units may be stacked end to end, side to side, side to end, end to side, upper Surface to lower Surface, etc., creating a variety of options for the user. With respect to the construction units, it is to be understood that such units may be constructed of a variety of materials, such as various plastics, metals, woods, and the like. Notwithstanding, it is preferable that the construction units be configured from Beech wood, pollutant-free and made of natural and untreated material.
As with the thicknesses addressed above, the various construction units may be sized to a multitude of dimensions. In this regard, the individual units will preferably be dimensioned in terms of feet, such as 1 centimeter (cm)×1 cm or 1 cm×2 cm, with some units extending to multiples thereof, for example 3 cm×5 cm. Because the units are scalable, other embodiments of the invention may call for the units to be reduced in size, such as by ×8 scale, ×4 scale, ×2, /2, /4, or/10 scale.
In one embodiment, the assembly of the multiple units can construct walls construction units at different size lengths, widths, and heights. Often, the construction units can be shifted in order to create walls to scale of a much larger structure.
As shown in each of
It will be appreciated that the various notches tabs. and recesses, both oblong and tapered oblong, each fall in a matrix with consistent spacing. Preferably, the spacing matches the spacing of the matrices found in the other construction units.
Accordingly, each of the roofing elements and the left and right side walls, created by the elongated units in
As discussed above, the various construction units may be utilized to build a variety of children's toys. In doing so, the construction units utilize the novel assembly member apertures in a matrix fashion, as discussed above. Almost by definition, any disclosure could not exhaust the possible combinations of toys that may be constructed. However, in building toys utilizing the construction units of the present invention, it has been found that one basic building unit is particularly useful as shown in
Example embodiments having thus been described, it will be obvious that the same may be varied in many ways. Such variations are not to be regarded as a departure from the intended spirit and scope of example embodiments, and all such modifications as would be obvious to one skilled in the art are intended to be included within the scope of the following claims.
Although the present invention has been described in terms of various embodiments, it is not intended that the invention be limited to these embodiments. Modification within the spirit of the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art.
