The present invention relates generally to the field of golf. More specifically, the present invention relates to a multipurpose golf equipment device wherein a first end of the body is comprised of at least one cutout that receives a shaft of a golf club when the device is free-standing and is supported by a clip in a kickstand-like manner. When not in the free-standing configuration, the device can be clipped to a golf bag via the clip wherein a headcover can be stored on the first end. The fastener may also allow a user to secure a golf glove to the device. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
It is not uncommon for a golfer to lose a golf club headcover on a course after taking the headcover off a club and forgetting to pick it back up. In addition, many golfers may take off a headcover from a plug and toss the headcover on the ground. However, if the ground is wet, the headcover can become wet. Alternatively, a golfer may throw a headcover into a golf cart. However, if not secured, the headcover may fall off the cart when the cart moves.
Further, it is not uncommon for a golfer to bring at least one wedge and a putter when walking onto a green. However, some golfers may forget to pick their wedge back up after making a putt which leads to the club becoming lost. In addition, after placing a wedge onto the ground before attempting a putt, the grip of the club may become wet due to the ground surface. This makes it difficult to adequately grip and use the club during subsequent shots.

Referring initially to the drawings,
The body 110 is preferably rectangular or tubular in shape. However, the body 110 may be any shape in different embodiments. In one embodiment, the body 110 may resemble a golf club. The first end 120 of the body 110 is comprised of at least one cutout 122. The cutout 122 is preferably a semi-circular cutout. The cutout 122 receives a shaft of a golf club 20, as will be explained more fully below. In one embodiment, the cutout 122 is comprised of at least one lining 124. The lining 124 may be a padding or a cushioning that prevents damage to a golf club 20 when the club 20 is resting within the cutout 122. In different embodiments, the body 110 may be any size and shape with a plurality of cutouts 122 that may receive a plurality of clubs 20.
The body 110 may be comprised of at least one fastener 140. In one embodiment, the fastener 140 is a hook fastener or a loop fastener that can be used to secure a golf glove 30 to the body 110, as seen in
The rear surface 150 of the body 110 is comprised of at least one clip 154. The clip 154 may be any kind of clip 154 known in the art that allows the device 100 to be clipped to an opening 12 of a golf bag 10. While clipped to a golf bag 10, the first end 120 can also be used to store a golf club headcover 40 by placing the headcover 40 over the first end 120, as seen in
The clip 154 attaches to the rear surface 150 via at least one hinge point 152. The hinge point 152 is preferably a spring-loaded and/or a locking hinge. However, the hinge point 152 may be any type of articulation structure and articulation point that allows the clip 154 to articulate between 0 and 180 degrees with respect to the body 110. The hinge point 152 also preferably locks at any position between 0 and 180 degrees.
The device 100 can also be used outside of a golf bag 10. In this embodiment, the clip 154 is used as a kickstand to allow the device 100 to be freestanding, as seen in
In one embodiment, the bottom edge 156 of the clip 154 may be comprised of a jagged edge. In this embodiment, the jagged edge 156 allows the clip 154 to be pressed into a ground surface. Therefore, the jagged edge further promotes grip between the clip 154 and the ground surface. The second end 130 may also be comprised of at least one foot 132 that also may be jagged to promote grip between the foot 132 and the ground surface.
