Abstract
A multipurpose wearable weight device that can be used as a single leg weight, double leg weight, a single sided vest, a double-sided vest, or as a free weight. The weight device can be used individually, with cable machines, with resistance bands, or in other similar ways. The weight device comprises a vest body with horizontal straps for securing the vest body and pockets for holding flexible weighted tubes. Further, a plurality of shoulder straps may be used to secure the weight device around the user. Additionally, a handle grip allows the user to lift the weight device of the present invention with their hand as a free weight. Further, the weight device may be rolled into a calf sleeve allowing the user to secure the weight device around their leg.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates generally to a fitness product that can be used as a single leg weight, double leg weight, single sided vest, double sided vest, or a free weight. More specifically, the present invention is a multipurpose weight device that increases muscular, cardiovascular endurance and fat burning.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

One of the main facets to a healthy lifestyle is being involved in daily exercise that target muscles and the cardiovascular system of the body. Many individuals buy gym memberships to use advanced equipment to complete their workouts, while on the other spectrum some individuals only complete bodyweight exercises. While both methods have their benefits, one comes with a reoccurring financial cost to stay in shape while the other method does not allow for certain types of muscular growth with additional weight resistance.


An objective of the present invention is to provide users with single leg weight, double leg weight, single sided vest, double sided vest, or a free weight device that allows the user to complete a variety of exercises with additional weight, to help increase muscular and cardiovascular endurance. The present invention intends to provide users with a device that can easily fit any body type or size, while being flexible and comfortable throughout the workout to ensure the covered body part can breathe and does not build up any excess sweat. Further, the present invention contours around the leg of the user, tapering in at the bottom of the leg to ensure the present invention can additionally be used as a vest that properly conforms around the chest area in a similar manner. Thus, the present invention is a multipurpose wearable weight device that conforms around the user's leg or chest to ensure a secure fit and comfortable workout or can be gripped within the hand.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention is a multipurpose wearable weight device that can be used as a single leg weight, double leg weight, a single sided vest, a double-sided vest, or as a free weight. The present invention seeks to provide users with a device that can be used individually, with cable machines, with resistance bands, or in other similar ways. In order to accomplish this the present invention comprises a vest body that provides a weighted resistance for the user. Further, a plurality of shoulder straps may be used to secure the weight device around the user. Additionally, a handle grip allows the user to lift the weight device of the present invention with their hand as a free weight. Further, the weight device may be formed into a calf sleeve allowing the user to secure the weight device around their leg. Furthermore, a waist strap may secure the present invention around the torso of the user. Thus, the present invention is a multipurpose wearable weight device that can be used as a one leg weight, two leg weight, one sided vest, multi sided vest, or free weight by conforming around the user's leg or chest to ensure a secure fit and comfortable workout or can be gripped within the hand.

DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION

All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention.


As shown in FIGS. 1, and 8-10, the present invention is a multipurpose wearable weight device that can be used as a single leg weight, double leg weight, single sided vest, double sided vest, or free weight. An objective of the present invention is to provide users with a fitness device that allows users to develop strong glutes, legs and core while increasing muscular, cardiovascular endurance and burning fat. The present invention intends to provide users with a device that is comfortable to wear that can be configured into a weight resistance device that can be used in various exercises. To accomplish this the present invention comprises a vest body 1, a plurality of shoulder straps 2, and a handle grip 3. These components and their subcomponents allow for the user to wear the present invention around several parts of the human body. The plurality of shoulder straps 2 attaches to the top side of the vest body 1 as seen in FIG. 9. A waist strap may wrap around the bottom of the vest body 1 and the handle grip 3 may attach to the vest body 1 at various locations as seen in FIG. 5. Thus, the present invention is a multipurpose wearable weight device that can be used as a one leg weight, two leg weight, one sided vest, multi sided vest, or free weight by conforming around the user's leg or chest to ensure a secure fit and comfortable workout or can be gripped within the hand.


Referring to FIG. 1-7, the present invention provides a weighted resistance from the vest body 1. In its preferred embodiment the vest body 1 comprises a vest structure 15, a plurality of horizontal straps 10, a plurality of vertical straps 11, a plurality of pockets 14, a plurality of side loops 12, and a plurality of body loops 13. The vest structure 15 is made of a flexible, fabric material with a substantially rectangular shape. The vest body 1 further comprises a front side 151, a back side 152, a top edge 153, a bottom edge 154, a left edge 155, and a right edge 156. The front side 151 and the back side 152 are oppositely positioned on the vest body 1, the left edge 155 and the right edge 156 are oppositely positioned on the vest body 1, and the top edge 153 and the bottom edge 154 are oppositely positioned on the vest body 1. In the preferred embodiment, the vest body 1, and subsequently the vest structure 15, tapers from the top edge 153 to the bottom edge 154 with the top edge 153 being longer than the bottom edge 154. The vest body 1 can be single or doubled sided so that it can be worn on the front or back of a body. The plurality of horizontal straps 10 and the plurality of pockets 14 can be attached to the vest structure 15 on the front side 151 and/or the back side 152 of the vest body 1. The plurality of horizontal straps 10 is fabric members as shown in FIG. 2-3. Each of the plurality of horizontal straps 10 comprises a body buckle 102 and a fastener strip 101. The fastener strip 101 is configured to securably interact with the body buckle 102, creating a closed loop between the fastener strip 101 and the vest structure 15. In the preferred embodiment, the fastener strip 101 is a hook and loop strip. The fastener strip 101 runs along the length of each of the plurality of horizontal straps 10. This allows the plurality of horizontal straps 10 to wrap around the body of the user to loop through the plurality of body buckles 102 and secure the present invention. In the case of the user needing additional means of attachment, the waist strap may loop around the user from one side of the vest body 1 to the opposite side of the vest body 1. Above the plurality of horizontal straps 10 may be the plurality of vertical straps 11, as seen in FIGS. 1, 2, 4, 6, and 8. The plurality of vertical straps 11 are folded over the back side 152 of the vest body 1, in FIGS. 3 and 5. The plurality of vertical straps 11 may each comprise at least one vertical fastener 111. The at least one vertical fastener 111 is preferably a hook and loop strip, but may also be clips, buckles, or other fastening devices. As discussed below, the plurality of shoulder straps 2 may be attached to the plurality of vertical straps 11 in one embodiment of the present invention. Further, the plurality of vertical straps 11 may also be weighted, either by prefabricated weights within the vertical straps or by removable and interchangeable weights.


Referring to FIG. 8, the vest body 1 may be attached to a secondary vest body 5 for the purpose of covering the user's front and back simultaneously during use. The secondary vest body 5 also comprises a secondary plurality of horizontal straps 50, a secondary plurality of vertical straps 51, a secondary plurality of pockets 54, a secondary plurality of side loops 52 and a secondary plurality of body loops 53. As with the vest body 1, each of the secondary plurality of horizontal straps 50 for the secondary vest body 5 comprises a secondary body buckle 502 and a secondary fastener strip 501 and each of the secondary plurality of vertical straps 51 comprises at least one secondary vertical fastener 511. In this configuration, the plurality of vertical straps 11 are connected to the opposite vest. Each of the plurality of vertical straps 11 overlaps with one of the plurality of secondary vertical straps 51. The vertical straps are secured by the at least one vertical fastener 111 and the at least one secondary vertical fastener 511. In the preferred embodiment, the at least one vertical fastener 111 and the at least one secondary vertical fastener 511 are each a hook and loop strip, allowing the at least one vertical fastener 111 and the at least one secondary vertical fastener 511 to stick together when overlapped. Further, at least one adjustable side strap 55 may be connected between the plurality of side loops 12 of the vest body 1 and the secondary plurality of side loops 52 of the secondary vest body 5.


The plurality of pockets 14 is positioned between each of the plurality of horizontal straps 10 as seen in FIG. 1-10. Each of the plurality of pockets 14 comprises a sleeve 141, a weighted tube 142, and a tube lip 143. The weighted tubes 142 are cylindrical flexible weights that traverse into the sleeve 141 to add weight to the vest body 1. In the preferred embodiment, these weighted tubes 142 are filled with steel sand, steel shot, or any other similar flexible or granulated material to allow for flexibility of the weighted tubes 142. If the user desires less or more weight the weighted tube 142 can accordingly be removed or inserted from the sleeve 141 of each of the plurality of pockets 14. Along the edge of the plurality of pockets 14 at one end of the sleeve 141 is the tube lip 143. The tube lip 143 ensures that the weighted tubes 142 do not accidently fall out of the plurality of pockets 14. The tube lip 143 is adjustably securable, allowing the weighted tubes 142 to be added to and removed from the sleeve 141 of each of the plurality of pockets 14 while securing the weighted tubes 142 in the plurality of pockets 14 during use. In an alternative embodiment, the tube lip 143 may be sealed with the plurality of weighted tubes 142 being a preset and non-adjustable weight. Furthermore, the plurality of side loops 12 and the plurality of body loops 13 are positioned on the rear and front side 151 of the vest body 1. The plurality of body loops 13 is designed as D-shaped rings along the middle section of the vest body 1 while the plurality of side loops 12 is positioned at the left and right bottom of the vest body 1. The plurality of body loops 13 are configured to attach resistance bands, cables from cable machines, or other means or additional weight/resistance. It should be further noted that, the vest body 1 can be created in many various shapes and sizes and subcomponents could be designed in various ways while still staying within the scope of the present invention.


Referring to FIG. 9, the plurality of shoulder straps 2 connects to the vest body 1 via the plurality of vertical straps 11. In its preferred embodiment the plurality of shoulder straps 2 comprises a plurality of shoulder clips 21, a plurality of shoulder rings 22, a plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23, a plurality of horizontal shoulder straps 24, and a plurality of horizontal fasteners 25. The plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23 secures to the front fastener 111 the plurality of vertical straps 11. Along the plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23 is the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps 24. Each of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps 24 is designed with a fabric material that stretches from one vertical shoulder strap to the other vertical shoulder strap, perpendicular to the plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23. As shown in FIG. 9, the plurality of horizontal fasteners 25 is positioned along the ends of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps 24 to secure the two ends together. At the bottom of the plurality of shoulder straps 2 the plurality of shoulder rings 22 is positioned to allow the plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23 to wrap through and extend downwards. Further, at the bottom of the plurality of vertical shoulder straps 23 is the plurality of shoulder clips 21 that secures the plurality of shoulder straps 2 to the plurality of side loops 12 of the vest body 1. This design allows for the present invention to be properly secured around the body of the user either on the user's front or back. Further the plurality of vertical straps 11 may comprise at least one side pocket, preferably with a rectangular shape. This side pocket is designed to hold an additional weight that can be removably placed within the side pocket or configured so that the side pocket is weighted during manufacturing. In an alternative embodiment the plurality of shoulder straps 2 is designed with a pre-weighted configuration where a specified amount of weight is placed within the plurality of shoulder straps 2 during manufacturing to provide the user with additional weight. This will allow the user to choose between a pre-weighted version of the plurality of shoulder straps 2 or a version where weights can be later added if desired to the plurality of shoulder straps 2.


Referring to FIG. 5, the handle grip 3 is designed with a holding portion 31, preferably a rubber cylindrical member, though it may be made of any suitable material and formed into any suitable shape for holding. In its preferred embodiment the handle grip 3 comprises the holding portion 31, a plurality of handle clips 32, a handle strap 33 with a first end 331 and a second end 332, and a plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34. The holding portion 31 is wrapped around the handle strap 33 and one of the plurality of handle clips 32 are attached to the each of the first end 331 and the second end 332. In the preferred embodiment, each of the plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34 are positioned between the handle strap 33 and the plurality of handle clips 32, facilitating a rotational connection between the components. The plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34 is members that allow for full rotation for any part connected to the plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34. Further the plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34 can be made of any sturdy material such as metal, plastic, or other suitable materials. In some embodiments of the handle grip 3, the plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34 are not included, maintaining a particular orientation of the holding portion 31 and the other components of the handle grip 3. Along the end of the plurality of rotating handle fasteners 34 is the plurality of handle clips 32 that secures to the plurality of body loops 13, so that the present invention can be used as an arm resistive weight. This design allows the present invention to be used like a free weight such as a dumbbell, for exercises such as curls, shoulder press, etc. FIG. 5 shows the vest body 1 laid flat in connection with the handle grip 3 attached; however, the vest body 1 may be folded, rolled, or otherwise configured using the plurality of horizontal straps 10 and the plurality of side loops 12 for the most effective use of the present invention as a free weight. In the preferred embodiment of the free weight, the vest body 1 is folded in half with the left side 155 secured to the right side 156 by the plurality of horizontal straps 11.


Referring to FIG. 10, the vest body 1 may be rolled into a calf sleeve 4 in one embodiment of the present invention. In this embodiment, the plurality of vertical straps 11 are folded onto the vest structure 15 prior to the vest body 1 being rolled into the calf sleeve 4. The calf sleeve 4 is a flexible fabric hollow cylindrical tube that can wrap around the calf of the user. This allows the present invention to be wrapped into a cylindrical form to be wrapped around the calf of the user to be used as a leg weight resistance. The calf sleeve 4 comprises an inner surface 41, an outer surface 42, a top end 43, and a bottom end 44. The plurality of horizontal straps 10 and the plurality of body loops 13 are positioned on the outer surface 42 of the calf sleeve 4. The plurality of pockets 14 are preferably sewn shut for the calf sleeve 4, though the plurality of pockets 14 may also be selectively openable. The plurality of horizontal straps 10 may be used to secure the vest body 1 in the shape of the calf sleeve 4. To do so, the fastener strip 101 of each of the plurality of horizontal straps 10 encircles the outer surface 42 of the calf sleeve 4 and is secured by the body buckle 102 or the fastener strip 101 itself. In some cases, the waist strap may be positioned at the bottom end 44 of the calf sleeve 4 and also used to secure the vest body 1 in the shape of the calf sleeve 4. The waist strap preferably comprises a wrapping strip with a waist fastening buckle.


With all the components working in tandem with each other it can be seen that, the present invention is a three in one leg weight, multi sided vest, and free weight that conforms around the user's leg or chest to ensure a secure fit and comfortable workout or can be gripped within the hand.


Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.

Claims
  • 1. A multipurpose wearable weight device, comprising: a vest body;the vest body comprising a vest structure, a plurality of horizontal straps, and a plurality of pockets;the plurality of horizontal straps and the plurality of pockets being attached to the vest structure;each of the plurality of horizontal straps being configured to encircle a body;each of the plurality of horizontal straps further comprising a fastener strip and a body buckle;the fastener strip being configured to securably interact with the body buckle, creating a closed loop between the fastener strip and the vest structure;each of the plurality of pockets further comprising a sleeve, a weighted tube, and a tube lip;the weighted tube traversing into the sleeve;the weighted tube being flexible; andthe tube lip being disposed at one end of the sleeve.
  • 2. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 1, further comprising: the vest body further comprising: a front side;a back side;a top edge;a bottom edge;a left edge; anda right edge;the front side and the back side being oppositely positioned on the vest body;the top edge and the bottom edge being oppositely positioned on the vest body; andthe left edge and the right edge being oppositely positioned on the vest body.
  • 3. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 2, further comprising: the vest body further comprising a plurality of vertical straps and a plurality of side loops;the plurality of vertical straps being connected to the vest structure at the top edge of the vest body;the plurality of side loops being connected to the vest structure at the right edge and the left edge of the vest body; andthe plurality of vertical straps comprising at least one vertical fastener.
  • 4. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 2, further comprising: the vest body further comprising a plurality of body loops; andthe plurality of body loops being attached to the vest structure on the front side of the vest body.
  • 5. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 3, further comprising: a plurality of shoulder straps;the plurality of shoulder straps comprising: a plurality of shoulder clips;a plurality of vertical shoulder straps; anda plurality of horizontal shoulder straps;the plurality of vertical shoulder straps connecting to the plurality of vertical straps at the at least one vertical fastener;each of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps positioned perpendicular to the plurality of vertical shoulder straps;each of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps connecting the plurality of vertical shoulder straps; andthe plurality of shoulder clips connecting the plurality of vertical shoulder straps to the plurality of side loops.
  • 6. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 3, further comprising: a secondary vest body;at least one adjustable side strap;the vest body further comprising a plurality of side loops;the secondary vest body comprising a secondary plurality of vertical straps, a secondary plurality of pockets, and a secondary plurality of side loops;the plurality of vertical straps connecting to the secondary plurality of vertical straps; andthe at least one adjustable side strap connecting the plurality of side loops to the secondary plurality of side loops.
  • 7. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 1, further comprising: the vest body being rolled into a calf sleeve;the calf sleeve being shaped as a cylindrical tube;the calf sleeve having an inner surface and an outer surface;the plurality of horizontal straps being attached to the vest structure on the outer surface of the calf sleeve; andthe fastener strip of each of the plurality of horizontal straps encircling the outer surface of the calf sleeve.
  • 8. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 4, further comprising: a handle grip; andthe handle grip being attached to the plurality of body loops.
  • 9. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 8, further comprising: the handle grip further comprising: a holding portion;a plurality of handle clips;a handle strap with a first end and a second end; anda plurality of rotating handle fasteners;the holding portion being wrapped around the handle strap;one of the plurality of handle clips attached to each of the first end and the second end of the handle strap;the plurality of rotating handle fasteners positioned between the plurality of handle clips and the handle strap; andthe handle grip being connected to the plurality of body loops by the plurality of handle clips.
  • 10. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 1, wherein the tube lip is configured to selectively allow removal of the weighted tube from the sleeve.
  • 11. A multipurpose wearable weight device, comprising: a vest body;the vest body comprising a vest structure, a plurality of horizontal straps, a plurality of vertical straps, a plurality of pockets, and a plurality of body loops;the plurality of horizontal straps, the plurality of pockets, and the plurality of body loops being attached to the vest structure;each of the plurality of horizontal straps being configured to encircle a body;each of the plurality of pockets further comprising a sleeve, a weighted tube, and a tube lip;the weighted tube traversing into the sleeve;the weighted tube being flexible; andthe tube lip being disposed at one end of the sleeve.
  • 12. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 11, further comprising: the vest body further comprising: a front side;a back side;a top edge;a bottom edge;a left edge; anda right edge;the front side and the back side being oppositely positioned on the vest body;the top edge and the bottom edge being oppositely positioned on the vest body; andthe left edge and the right edge being oppositely positioned on the vest body.
  • 13. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 12, further comprising: the vest body further comprising a plurality of side loops;the plurality of vertical straps being connected to the vest structure at the top edge of the vest body;the plurality of side loops being connected to the vest structure at the right edge and the left edge of the vest body; andthe plurality of vertical straps comprising at least one vertical fastener.
  • 14. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 11, further comprising: each of the plurality of horizontal straps further comprising a fastener strip and a body buckle; andthe fastener strip being configured to securably interact with the body buckle, creating a closed loop between the fastener strip and the vest structure.
  • 15. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 13, further comprising: a plurality of shoulder straps;the plurality of shoulder straps comprising: a plurality of shoulder clips;a plurality of vertical shoulder straps; anda plurality of horizontal shoulder straps;the plurality of vertical shoulder straps connecting to the plurality of vertical straps at the at least one vertical fastener;each of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps positioned perpendicular to the plurality of vertical shoulder straps;each of the plurality of horizontal shoulder straps connecting the plurality of vertical shoulder straps; andthe plurality of shoulder clips connecting the plurality of vertical shoulder straps to the plurality of side loops.
  • 16. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 13, further comprising: a secondary vest body;at least one adjustable side strap;the vest body further comprising a plurality of side loops;the secondary vest body comprising a secondary plurality of vertical straps, a secondary plurality of pockets, and a secondary plurality of side loops;the plurality of vertical straps connecting to the secondary plurality of vertical straps; andthe at least one adjustable side strap connecting the plurality of side loops to the secondary plurality of side loops.
  • 17. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 14, further comprising: the vest body being rolled into a calf sleeve;the calf sleeve being shaped as a cylindrical tube;the calf sleeve having an inner surface and an outer surface;the plurality of horizontal straps being attached to the vest structure on the outer surface of the calf sleeve; andthe fastener strip of each of the plurality of horizontal straps encircling the outer surface of the calf sleeve.
  • 18. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 11, further comprising: a handle grip; andthe handle grip being attached to the plurality of body loops.
  • 19. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 18, further comprising: the handle grip further comprising: a holding portion;a plurality of handle clips;a handle strap with a first end and a second end; anda plurality of rotating handle fasteners;the holding portion being wrapped around the handle strap;one of the plurality of handle clips attached to each of the first end and the second end of the handle strap;the plurality of rotating handle fasteners positioned between the plurality of handle clips and the handle strap; andthe handle grip being connected to the plurality of body loops by the plurality of handle clips.
  • 20. The multipurpose wearable weight device of claim 11, wherein the tube lip is configured to selectively allow removal of the weighted tube from the sleeve.
