Claims
- 1. A compound having the structure: ##STR121## wherein A is a pharmaceutically acceptable counter ion; R.sup.5 is a member selected from the group consisting of loweralkyl, loweralkenyl, and benzyl; R.sup.6 is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, loweralkyl, loweralkenyl, loweralkylthio, phenyl, pyridyl, thiazolyl and --NR.sup.1 R.sup.2 ; R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 independently are members selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, lower alkyl, loweralkenyl, cycloloweralkyl, mono- and di-loweralkylamino, phenyl and benzyl; and R.sup.3 is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen and pivaloxymethyl.
- 2. A compound according to claim 1 having the structure: ##STR122##

- 8. A compound according to claim 1 having the structure: ##STR128## wherein R is 4-thiazolyl.

- 10. A compound according to claim 1 having the structure: ##STR130##
- 11. A compound according to claim 1 having the structure: ##STR131##

- 17. An antibacterial pharmaceutical composition consisting essentially of in unitary dosage form a therapeutically effective amount of a compound according to claim 1 and a pharmaceutical carrier therefor.
