Abstract
A nail file may comprise a cardboard made of a polymer such as polystyrene (PS), and each of two surfaces of the cardboard has an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) layer which is served as an adhesive to adhere a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film thereon. Also, each of two PET films has a plurality of grits formed thereon to create a rough surface thus achieving the effect of filing nails. Since the PET film is a material which is an excellent water and moister barrier, the PET film is configured to firmly attach with the cardboard even when the nail file is washed by water.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a nail file, and more particularly to a washable nail file with multilayers.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Generally, a nail file comprises a cardboard covered with an emery or emery paper to create a rough surface which is configured to file down or shape nails when repeatedly brushed across the nails.


However, the conventional nail file has following disadvantages: (i) when the nail file is cleaned and washed, the emery surface is easy to separate from the cardboard; and (ii) each of two surfaces of the nail file has only one emery layer, and a user needs to buy a new nail file frequently, which is inconvenient and wastes time and money. Therefore, there remains a need for a new and improved design for a nail file to overcome the problems presented above.


SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a nail file which comprises a cardboard made of a polymer such as polystyrene (PS), and each of two surfaces of the cardboard has an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) layer which is served as an adhesive to adhere a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film thereon. Also, each of two PET films has a plurality of grits formed thereon to create a rough surface thus achieving the effect of filing nails. Since the PET film is a material which is an excellent water and moister barrier, the PET film is configured to firmly attach with the cardboard through the EVA layer even when the nail file is washed by water.


In one embodiment, a surface of the PET film is colored and designed to have colors and patterns thereon.


In another embodiment, the nail file comprises multiple layers of the PET films on a single surface of the cardboard, and each two PET films are firmly attached through the EVA layer.


In still another embodiment, the surface of the PET film has a sign, “Peel Here”, on an end thereof, and a user can peel up the PET film with the EVA layer from the end thereof when the grits on the PET film are worn down.


Comparing with nail file, the present invention is advantageous because: (i) since the PET films are configured to firmly attached on the cardboard through the EVA layers even when contacts with water, the nail file is configured to be washed by water, which allows the nail file easy to clean; and (ii) each of the two surfaces of the cardboard may have multiple PET films, and a user can peel up the PET film when the grits formed thereon are worn down and replace with a second PET film with the grits to file nails, which improves the applicability and practicability thereof.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

In order to further understand the goal, characteristics and effect of the present invention, a number of embodiments along with the drawings are illustrated as following:


Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the present invention provides a nail file (1) which comprises a cardboard (2) made of a polymer such as polystyrene (PS), and each of two surfaces of the cardboard (2) has an ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) layer (3) which is served as an adhesive to adhere a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film (4) thereon. Also, each of two PET films (4) has a plurality of grits (5) formed thereon to create a rough surface to file nails. Since the PET film (4) is a material which is an excellent water and moister barrier, the PET film (4) is configured to firmly attach with the cardboard (2) through the EVA layer (3) even when the nail file (1) is washed by water.


In one embodiment, referring to FIG. 1, a surface of the PET film (4) is colored and designed to have colors and patterns thereon.


In another embodiment, referring to FIG. 3, the nail file (1) comprises multiple layers of the PET films (4) on a single surface of the cardboard (2), and the PET films (4) are firmly attached through the EVA layer (3).


In still another embodiment, referring to FIGS. 1 and 3, the surface of the PET film (4) has a sign, “Peel Here”, on an end thereof, and a user can peel up the PET film (4) with the EVA layer (3) from the end thereof when the grits (5) on the PET film (4) are worn down.


Comparing with conventional nail file, the present invention is advantageous because: (i) since the PET films (4) are configured to firmly attach on the cardboard (2) through the EVA layers (3), the nail file (1) can be washed by water so the nail file (1) is easy to clean; and (ii) each of the two surfaces of the cardboard (2) may have multiple PET films (4), and a user can peel up the PET film (4) when the grits (5) formed thereon is worn down and replace with a second PET film (4′) with a plurality of grits (5′) to file nails, which improves the applicability and practicability thereof.

Claims
  • 1. A nail file comprising a cardboard with a first and second sides; an adhesive layer on at least one of the first and second side of the carboard to adhere at least one polyethylene terephthalate (PET) film thereon; and a grit surface formed on at least one PET film.
  • 2. The nail file of claim 1, wherein the cardboard is made by polymer such as polystyrene (PS).
  • 3. The nail file of claim 1, wherein the adhesive layer is made by ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA).
