Abstract
A nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails comprises a body comprised of a first portion and a second portion, a file for filing the nails, and a file holding element comprised of a file holder and a file securing element. The file holder mechanically couples with the second portion and removably holds the file. The file securing element mechanically couples with the second portion and transitions between a securing state and an unsecuring state. Further, in the unsecuring state, the file holder and the file securing element together define an unsecuring spatial separation for unsecuring the file from the file holder and the file securing element. Further, in the securing state, the file holder and the file securing element together define a securing spatial separation for securing the file between the file holder and the file securing element.
Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

Generally, the present disclosure relates to the field equipment for cosmetics. More specifically, the present disclosure relates to a nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails.


BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

The field of equipment for cosmetics is technologically important to several industries, business organizations, and/or individuals. In particular, the use of equipment for cosmetics is prevalent for nail filing apparatuses for facilitating filing of nails.


Existing techniques for facilitating filing of nails are deficient with regard to several aspects. For instance, current technologies do not allow users to interchangeably switch between different grits of sandpaper. Furthermore, current nail filers have an abrasive surface that either cannot be changed or can only be replaced once it is used up. Moreover, current technologies do not allow users to file the nails of pets with one grit and then change the grit of the abrasive for shaping or smoothing while using the same device. Individual sticks with different grits glued to them are interchangeable but they do not allow filing nails with different grits using a single device.


Therefore, there is a need for an improved nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails that may overcome one or more of the above-mentioned problems and/or limitations.

Disclosed herein is a nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the nail filing apparatus may include a body characterized by a body length extending between a first body end and a second body end. Further, the body may include a first portion characterized by a first portion length and a first portion width. Further, the first portion may include a handle. Further, the handle may be configured to be held with a hand of a user. Further, the body may include a second portion characterized by a second portion width and a second portion length extending between an intermediate point on the body and the second body end. Further, the intermediate point may be between the first body end and the second body end. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include at least one file characterized by a file width, a file thickness, and a file length. Further, the file length extends between a first file end and a second file end. Further, the at least one file may be configured for filing the nails. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include a file holding element. Further, the file holding element may include a file holder characterized by a file holder width and a file holder length. Further, the file holder length extends between a rear file holder end and a front file holder end. Further, the file holder may include a flattened body extending between a base surface on an underside of the file holder and a top surface on an upper side of the file holder. Further, the file holder may be mechanically coupled with the second portion at the base surface. Further, the file holder may be configured for removably holding the at least one file on the top surface. Further, the file holding element may include a file securing element mechanically coupled with the second portion. Further, the file securing element may be configured to transition between a securing state and an unsecuring state. Further, in the unsecuring state, the file holder and the file securing element together define an unsecuring spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for unsecuring the at least one file from the file holder and the file securing element. Further, in the securing state, the file holder and the file securing element together define a securing spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for securing the at least one file between the file holder and the file securing element. Further, the file securing element may include a rear file securing part disposed proximal to the rear file holder end on the second portion. Further, a first securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, a first unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, the first securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a first file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the first unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for facilitating the unsecuring of the first file portion Further, the first file portion may be proximal to the first file end. Further, the file securing element may include a front file securing part disposed proximal to the front file holder end. Further, a second securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, a second unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, the second securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a second file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the second unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for unsecuring the second file portion in the second unsecuring spatial separation. Further, the second file portion may be proximal to the second file end.


Further disclosed herein is a nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the nail filing apparatus may include a body characterized by a body length extending between a first body end and a second body end. Further, the body may include a first portion characterized by a first portion length and a first portion width. Further, the first portion may include a handle. Further, the handle may be configured to be held with a hand of a user. Further, the body may include a second portion characterized by a second portion width and a second portion length extending between an intermediate point on the body and the second body end. Further, the intermediate point may be between the first body end and the second body end. Further, the second portion width may be constant with respect to the second portion length. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include at least one file characterized by a file width, a file thickness, and a file length. Further, the file length extends between a first file end and a second file end. Further, the at least one file may be configured for filing the nails. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include a file holding element. Further, the file holding element may include a file holder characterized by a file holder width and a file holder length. Further, the file holder length extends between a rear file holder end and a front file holder end. Further, the file holder may include a flattened body extending between a base surface on an underside of the file holder and a top surface on an upper side of the file holder. Further, the file holder may be mechanically coupled with the second portion at the base surface. Further, the file holder may be configured for removably holding the at least one file on the top surface. Further, the file holding element may include a file securing element mechanically coupled with the second portion. Further, the file securing element may be configured to transition between a securing state and an unsecuring state. Further, in the unsecuring state, the file holder and the file securing element together define an unsecuring spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for unsecuring the at least one file from the file holder and the file securing element. Further, in the securing state, the file holder and the file securing element together define a securing spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for securing the at least one file between the file holder and the file securing element. Further, the file securing element may include a rear file securing part disposed proximal to the rear file holder end on the second portion. Further, a first securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, a first unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, the first securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a first file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the first unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for facilitating the unsecuring of the first file portion. Further, the first file portion may be proximal to the first file end. Further, the file securing element may include a front file securing part disposed proximal to the front file holder end. Further, a second securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, a second unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, the second securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a second file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the second unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for unsecuring the second file portion in the second unsecuring spatial separation. Further, the second file portion may be proximal to the second file end.


Further disclosed herein is a nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the nail filing apparatus may include a body characterized by a body length extending between a first body end and a second body end. Further, the body may include a first portion characterized by a first portion length and a first portion width. Further, the first portion may include a handle. Further, the handle may be configured to be held with a hand of a user. Further, the body may include a second portion characterized by a second portion width and a second portion length extending between an intermediate point on the body and the second body end. Further, the intermediate point may be between the first body end and the second body end. Further, the second portion width may be constant with respect to the second portion length. Further, the second portion may include a first slot disposed on an upper side of the second portion. Further, the first slot may include a first slot part and a second slot part. Further, each of the first slot part and the second slot part may be characterized by a slot length parallel to the second portion length. Further, the first slot part and the second slot part are disposed parallelly along the slot length. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include at least one file characterized by a file width, a file thickness, and a file length. Further, the file length extends between a first file end and a second file end. Further, the at least one file may be configured for filing the nails. Further, the nail filing apparatus may include a file holding element. Further, the file holding element may include a file holder characterized by a file holder width and a file holder length. Further, the file holder length extends between a rear file holder end and a front file holder end. Further, the file holder may include a flattened body extending between a base surface on an underside of the file holder and a top surface on an upper side of the file holder. Further, the file holder may be mechanically coupled with the second portion at the base surface. Further, the file holder may be configured for removably holding the at least one file on the top surface. Further, the file holder width may be constant with respect to the file holder length. Further, a separation between the first slot part and the second slot part may be defined by the file holder width. Further, the file holding element may include a file securing element mechanically coupled with the second portion. Further, the file securing element may be configured to transition between a securing state and an unsecuring state. Further, in the unsecuring state, the file holder and the file securing element together define an unsecuring spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for unsecuring the at least one file from the file holder and the file securing element. Further, in the securing state, the file holder and the file securing element together define a securing spatial separation between the file holder and the file securing element for securing the at least one file between the file holder and the file securing element. Further, the file securing element may include a rear file securing part disposed proximal to the rear file holder end on the second portion. Further, a first securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, a first unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part and the rear file holder end. Further, the first securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a first file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the first unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for facilitating the unsecuring of the first file portion. Further, the first file portion may be proximal to the first file end. Further, the rear file securing part may include a first rear key and a second rear key. Further, the first rear key may be slidingly engageable with the first slot part and the second rear key may be slidingly engageable with the second slot part. Further, the file securing element may include a front file securing part disposed proximal to the front file holder end. Further, a second securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, a second unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the front file securing part and the front file holder end. Further, the second securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a second file portion of the at least one file along the file width. Further, the second unsecuring spatial separation may be more than the file thickness for unsecuring the second file portion in the second unsecuring spatial separation. Further, the second file portion may be proximal to the second file end. Further, the front file securing part may include a first front key and a second front key. Further, the first front key may be slidingly engageable with the first slot part and the second front key may be slidingly engageable with the second slot part.

Overview:


The present disclosure describes a nail filing apparatus for facilitating filing of nails. Further, the disclosed apparatus may be used for filing the nails of pets. Further, the apparatus secures abrasive filing strips configured for filing nails. Further, the apparatus may allow users to use different grits for filing the nails of the pets using the same device.


Referring now to figures, FIG. 1 is an exploded view of a nail filing apparatus 100 for facilitating filing of nails, in accordance with some embodiments. Accordingly, the nail filing apparatus 100 may include a body 122 characterized by a body length extending between a first body end 126 and a second body end 128. Further, the body 122 may include a first portion 102 characterized by a first portion length and a first portion width. Further, the first portion 102 may include a handle 104. Further, the handle 104 may be configured to be held with a hand of a user. Further, the body 122 may include a second portion 106 characterized by a second portion width and a second portion length extending between an intermediate point on the body 122 and the second body end 128. Further, the intermediate point may be between the first body end 126 and the second body end 128. Further, the nail filing apparatus 100 may include at least one file 200, as shown in FIG. 2, characterized by a file width, a file thickness, and a file length. Further, the file length extends between a first file end 202, as shown in FIG. 2, and a second file end 204, as shown in FIG. 2. Further, the at least one file 200 may be configured for filing the nails. Further, in an embodiment, the at least one file 200 may include at least one abrasive surface associated with at least one abrasive grade corresponding to at least one grit number. Further, the filling of the nails may be performed by rubbing the nails on the at least one abrasive surface. Further, the at least one abrasive surface abrades the nails based on the rubbing of the nails on the at least one abrasive surface of the user. Further, the nail filing apparatus 100 may include a file holding element 124. Further, the file holding element 124 may include a file holder 108 characterized by a file holder width and a file holder length. Further, the file holder length extends between a rear file holder end 116 and a front file holder end 118. Further, the file holder 108 may include a flattened body extending between a base surface 302, as shown in FIG. 3, on an underside of the file holder 108 and a top surface 110 on an upper side of the file holder 108. Further, the file holder 108 may be mechanically coupled with the second portion 106 at the base surface 302. Further, the file holder 108 may be configured for removably holding the at least one file 200 on the top surface 110. Further, in an embodiment, the at least one file 200 may include a plurality of files. Further, the plurality of files may include a plurality of abrasive surfaces with a plurality of abrasive grades. Further, the removably holding may include removably holding at least one of the plurality of files on the top surface 110. Further, the file holding element 124 may include a file securing element (112 and 114) mechanically coupled with the second portion 106. Further, the file securing element (112 and 114) may be configured to transition between a securing state and an unsecuring state. Further, in the unsecuring state, the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114) together define an unsecuring spatial separation between the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114) for unsecuring the at least one file 200 from the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114). Further, in the securing state, the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114) together define a securing spatial separation between the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114) for securing the at least one file 200 between the file holder 108 and the file securing element (112 and 114). Further, the file securing element (112 and 114) may include a rear file securing part 112 disposed proximal to the rear file holder end 116 on the second portion 106. Further, a first securing spatial separation of the securing spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part 112 and the rear file holder end 116. Further, a first unsecuring spatial separation of the unsecuring spatial separation may be defined between the rear file securing part 112 and the rear file holder end 116. Further, the first securing spatial separation may be less than the file thickness for facilitating the securing of a first file portion 206 of the at least one file 200 along the file width. Further, in some embodiments, the second portion 106 may include a first slot (402 and 404) disposed on an upper side of the second portion 106. Further, the first slot (402 and 404) may include a first slot part 402, as shown in FIG. 4, and a second slot part 404, as shown in FIG. 4. Further, each of the first slot part 402 and the second slot part 404 may be characterized by a slot length parallel to the second portion length. Further, the first slot part 402 and the second slot part 404 are disposed parallelly along the slot length. Further, the rear file securing part 112 may include a first rear key 502, as shown in FIG. 5, and a second rear key 504, as shown in FIG. 5. Further, the first rear key 502 may be slidingly engageable with the first slot part 402 and the second rear key 504 may be slidingly engageable with the second slot part 404. Further, the front file securing part 114 may include a first front key 602, as shown in FIG. 6, and a second front key 604, as shown in FIG. 4. Further, the first front key 602 may be slidingly engageable with the first slot part 402 and the second front key 604 may be slidingly engageable with the second slot part 404.


Further, in some embodiments, the first slot part 402 may include a first opening 406, as shown in FIG. 4, proximal to the second body end 128. Further, the first opening 406 leads into a first elongated space in the first slot part 402. Further, the second slot part 404 may include a second opening 408, as shown in FIG. 4, proximal to the second body end 128. Further, the second opening 408 leads into a second elongated space in the second slot part 404. Further, the first rear key 502 may be receivable in the first elongated space through the first opening 406 and the second rear key 504 may be receivable in the second elongated space through the second opening 408. Further, the slidingly engaging of the rear file securing part 112 may be based on the receiving of the first rear key 502 and the receiving of the second rear key 504. Further, the first front key 602 may be receivable in the first elongated space through the first opening 406 and the second front key 604 may be receivable in the second elongated space through the second opening 408. Further, the slidingly engaging of the front file securing part 114 may be based on the receiving of the first front key 602 and the receiving of the second front key 604.

Further, the first mating element 304 and the second mating element 306 are parallelly disposed on the base surface 302. Further, the spring 702 imparts a first pushing force on the rear file securing part 112 in absence of the at least one external user action based on at least one compressed state of the plurality of compressed states for securingly forcing the first file portion 206 against the file holder 108 at the rear file holder end 116. Further, the user applies an unsecuring force on the rear file securing part 112 based on the at least one user action. Further, the transitioning of the file securing element from the securing state to the unsecuring state may be based on the unsecuring force. Further, the front file securing part 114 may be fixed at the second body end 128. The nail filing apparatus of claim 1, wherein the second portion comprises a first slot disposed on an upper side of the second portion, wherein the first slot comprises a first slot part and a second slot part, wherein each of the first slot part and the second slot part is characterized by a slot length parallel to the second portion length, wherein the first slot part and the second slot part are disposed parallelly along the slot length, wherein the rear file securing part comprises a first rear key and a second rear key, wherein the first rear key is slidingly engageable with the first slot part and the second rear key is slidingly engageable with the second slot part, wherein the front file securing part comprises a first front key and a second front key, wherein the first front key is slidingly engageable with the first slot part and the second front key is slidingly engageable with the second slot part.

The nail filing apparatus of claim 3, wherein the first slot part comprises a first opening proximal to the second body end, wherein the first opening leads into a first elongated space in the first slot part, wherein the second slot part comprises a second opening proximal to the second body end, wherein the second opening leads into a second elongated space in the second slot part, wherein the first rear key is receivable in the first elongated space through the first opening and the second rear key is receivable in the second elongated space through the second opening, wherein the slidingly engaging of the rear file securing part is based on the receiving of the first rear key and the receiving of the second rear key, wherein the first front key is receivable in the first elongated space through the first opening and the second front key is receivable in the second elongated space through the second opening, wherein the slidingly engaging of the front file securing part is based on the receiving of the first front key and the receiving of the second front key.
  • 5. The nail filing apparatus of claim 3, wherein the file holder width is constant with respect to the file holder length, wherein a separation between the first slot part and the second slot part is defined by the file holder width.

The nail filing apparatus of claim 4, wherein the file holder comprises a first mating element and a second mating element, wherein the first mating element and the second mating element are parallelly disposed on the base surface, wherein each of the first mating element and the second mating element is characterized by a mating element length parallel to the file holder length, wherein the first mating element and the second mating element are separated apart by the file holder width, wherein the first mating element is slidingly engageable with the first slot part and the second mating element is slidingly engageable with the second slot part, wherein the mechanically coupling of the file holder with the second portion is based on the slidingly engaging of the first mating element and the slidingly engaging of the second mating element.
  • 7. The nail filing apparatus of claim 6, wherein the first mating element is receivable in the first elongated space through the first opening and the second mating element is receivable in the second elongated space through the second opening, wherein the slidingly engaging of the first mating element is based on the receiving of the first mating element and the slidingly engaging of the second mating element is based on the receiving of the second mating element.
  • 8. The nail apparatus of claim 7, wherein the file holder comprises a rear file holder portion of the file holder proximal to the rear file holder end, wherein the file holder comprises a front file holder portion of the file holder proximal to the front file holder end, wherein each of the rear file holder portion and the front file holder portion is raised away from a plane defined by the base surface for defining a rear underneath gap between the second portion and the rear file holder portion and a front underneath gap between the second portion and the front file holder portion, wherein the first file portion along the file length is receivable in the rear underneath gap and the second file portion along the file length is receivable in the front underneath gap.

The nail filing apparatus of claim 8, wherein the nail filing apparatus comprises a securing mechanism comprising: a nut comprising an annular body partially placed in a second slot disposed on the body proximal to the intermediate point, wherein the nut is freely rotatable in the second slot, wherein the nut is restricted to one degree of freedom of motion, wherein the nut comprises internal threads;a screw extending between a first screw end and a second screw end, wherein the screw comprises external threads engageable with the internal threads of the nut to mechanically couple the screw with the nut, wherein the nut coaxially receives a portion of the screw in the annular body, wherein the screw is configured for undergoing a linear motion along the body length through the annular body based on the rotating of the nut; anda spring extending between a first spring end and a second spring end, wherein the first spring end is attached to the screw to mechanically couple the spring with the screw, wherein the spring is configured for transitioning between a plurality of compressed states based on the linear motion of the screw, wherein the second spring end is attached to the rear file securing part, wherein the rear file securing part receives at least one external user action from the user, wherein the spring imparts a first pushing force on the rear file securing part in absence of the at least one external user action based on at least one compressed state of the plurality of compressed states for securingly forcing the first file portion against the file holder at the rear file holder end, wherein the user applies an unsecuring force on the rear file securing part based on the at least one user action, wherein the transitioning of the file securing element from the securing state to the unsecuring state is based on the unsecuring force, wherein the front file securing part is fixed at the second body end, wherein the front file securing part exerts a second pushing force on the second file portion for securingly forcing the second file portion against the file holder at the front file holder end, wherein the transitioning of the file securing element from the unsecuring state to the securing state is based on the first pushing force and the second pushing force.

The nail filing apparatus of claim 14, wherein the nail filing apparatus comprises a securing mechanism comprising: a nut comprising an annular body partially placed in a second slot disposed on the body proximal to the intermediate point, wherein the nut is freely rotatable in the second slot, wherein the nut is restricted to one degree of freedom of motion, wherein the nut comprises internal threads;a screw extending between a first screw end and a second screw end, wherein the screw comprises external threads engageable with the internal threads of the nut to mechanically couple the screw with the nut, wherein the nut coaxially receives a portion of the screw in the annular body, wherein the screw is configured for undergoing linear motion along the body length through the annular body based on the rotating of the nut; anda spring extending between a first spring end and a second spring end, wherein the first spring end is attached to the screw to mechanically couple the spring with the screw, wherein the spring is configured for transitioning between a plurality of compressed states based on the linear motion of the screw, wherein the second spring end is attached to the rear file securing part, wherein the rear file securing part receives at least one external user action from the user, wherein the spring imparts a first pushing force on the rear file securing part in absence of the at least one external user action based on at least one compressed state of the plurality of compressed states for securingly forcing the first file portion against the file holder at the rear file holder end, wherein the user applies an unsecuring force on the rear file securing part based on the at least one user action, wherein the transitioning of the file securing element from the securing state to the unsecuring state is based on the unsecuring force, wherein the front file securing part is fixed at the second body end, wherein the front file securing part exerts a second pushing force on the second file portion for securingly forcing the second file portion against the file holder at the front file holder end, wherein the transitioning of the file securing element from the unsecuring state to the securing state is based on the first pushing force and the second pushing force.
