The disclosure and prior art relate to debris collection devices and more particularly pertains to a new debris collection device for collecting nail trimmings.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a shell that defines an interior space. Each of a pair of openings is positioned in a respective opposing side of the shell. The opening extends from a top of the shell to proximate a midpoint of the respective opposing side to define a channel that extends between the opposing sides and a pocket that extends from a bottom of the shell to the channel. One of the pair of opening is configured to insert a digit of a user and the other of the pair of opening is configured to insert a nail care tool, positioning the user to perform maintenance on a nail plate of the digit. The pocket is configured to receive debris that is produced during the maintenance of the nail plate.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
Each of a pair of openings 20 is positioned in a respective opposing side 22 of the shell 12. The opening 20 extends from a top 16 of the shell 12 to proximate a midpoint 24 of the respective opposing side 22 to define a channel 26 that extends between the opposing sides 22 and a pocket 28 that extends from a bottom 18 of the shell 12 to the channel 26. One of the pair of openings 20 is configured to insert a digit of a user and the other of the pair of openings 20 is configured to insert a nail care tool, such as a nail clipper, a nail file, or the like, positioning the user to perform maintenance on a nail plate of the digit. The pocket 28 is configured to receive debris that is produced during the maintenance of the nail plate.
The transparency of the shell 12 allows the user to view the nail plate and the nail care tool, thus facilitating the process of performing the maintenance on the nail plate. When clipping nail plates, the clippings are often projected with significant force from the nail clipper. The shell 12 retains the clippings within the interior space 14, thereby reducing cleanup and the potential for the clippings to injure a person proximate to the nail clipper.
Each of a pair of tubes 30 is coupled to and extends from a perimeter 32 of a respective opening 20. One of the pair of tubes 30 is configured to insert the digit of the user and the other of the pair of tubes 30 is configured to insert the nail care tool, positioning the user to perform the maintenance on the nail plate of the digit. The pocket 28 is configured to receive the debris that is produced during the maintenance of the nail plate. The tubes 30 are configured to retain the debris within the interior space 14. The top 16 of the shell 12 and the pair of tubes 30 together measure from 10.0 to 20.0 centimeters. The top 16 of the shell 12 and the pair of tubes 30 together measure from 12.5 to 17.5 centimeters. The top 16 of the shell 12 and the pair of tubes 30 together measure 15.2 centimeters.
Each of a pair of slits 34 is positioned in a lower end 36 of a receptive tube 30. The slits 34 are configured to facilitate insertion of the digit of the hand of the user and the nail care tool.
In use, the digit of the user is inserted into one of the pair of opening 20 and the nail care tool into the other of the pair of opening, positioning the user to perform the maintenance on the nail plate of the digit, as shown in
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
