Description
FIELD OF THE DISCLOSURE

The present disclosure generally relates to nail decoration, nail decoration apparatus, pressure application system, and more particularly to a nail protection strip set.

BACKGROUND

Finger and toenails on the human body secrete natural oils that limit the length of time nail polish and artificial nails stay attached. The natural oils are secreted by the nail beds and then go up through the nail, weakening the bond between the nail and the polish or artificial nail. The adhesive currently used for artificial nails is also very strong to combat the effect of the nail's natural oil. This strong adhesive can then cause damage to the nail.

SUMMARY

Embodiments of the present disclosure may provide a nail decoration and nail protection strip set which may comprise a body, a plurality of nail protection strips, and a perforation at a point where the body connects to the plurality of nail protection strips. The perforation may allow for each of the plurality of nail protection strips to be easily separated from the body without the need for additional materials. The perforation may be formed around each of the plurality of nail protection strips to ease removal from the body. The nail protection strip set may allow a user to protect his/her natural nails from adhesive used when artificial nails are placed on the natural nails. The nail protection strip set may protect artificial nails or nail polish from natural oils secreted from or around a user's natural nails.

The plurality of nail protection strips may have a material side and a cover side. The cover side may protect an adhesive before it is applied to a nail. In one embodiment, the material side may be made of a transparent film dressing. In another embodiment, the material side may be made of a matte transparent sticker. The material may be selected from the group comprising: a transparent film dressing, a transparent matte sticker, a thin wound or tattoo dressing, or any other material used for the same purpose. Another embodiment of the present disclosure may provide where an artificial decorative nail would be attached/glued to the nail protection strip. Users can later attach the nail protection strip and artificial nail to a given nail at their own convenience.

A plurality of decorative artificial nails may be attached to the plurality of nail protection strips. Another embodiment that may be provided for use with the nail protection strip is a clip that can provide enough pressure to accelerate and strengthen the bond between an artificial decorative nail and a nail protection strip. This may reduce or even avoid the problem of the user not applying enough pressure when gluing, or otherwise attaching, the artificial decorative nail over the nail protection strip. The clip may be placed on top of the artificial decorative nail to bond it fully with the nail protection strip placed on a natural nail.

A further embodiment of the present disclosure may provide a nail protection strip set comprising: a body; a plurality of nail protection strips, wherein a plurality of decorative artificial nails may be capable of being attached to the plurality of nail protection strips; a perforation at a point where the body connects to the plurality of nail protection strips; and a clip that is capable of providing pressure to accelerate and strengthen a bond between at least one of the plurality of decorative artificial nails and at least one of the plurality of nail protection strips. Each of the plurality of nail protection strips may have a cover side that protects an adhesive before it is applied to a nail. The plurality of nail protection strips may have a material side formed from a material selected from the group comprising: a transparent film dressing, a transparent matte sticker, and a thin wound or tattoo dressing, or any other material used for the same purpose. The clip may be placed on top of the artificial decorative nail to bond it fully with the nail protection strip placed on a natural nail. The perforation may allow for each of the plurality of nail protection strips to be easily separated from the body without the need for additional materials. The perforation may be formed around each of the plurality of nail protection strips to ease removal from the body. The nail protection strip set may allow a user to protect his/her natural nails from adhesive used when artificial nails are placed on the natural nails and protect artificial nails or nail polish from natural oils secreted from or around a user's natural nails.

Other technical features may be readily apparent to one skilled in the art from the following figures, descriptions and claims.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Embodiments of the present disclosure may generally provide nail protection strips that may or may not be used for nail decoration, that may provide a body attached with perforation to a plurality of nail protection strips. The nail protection strips may be placed on a user's nails to protect them from the adhesive of artificial nails and may also provide protection for nail decoration from natural oil that may be present in the nails.

FIG. 1 depicts nail protection strip set 10 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. Nail protection strip set 10 may allow a user to protect their nails from the glue or other adhesive that may be used when an artificial nail is placed on a natural nail. Nail protection strip set 10 may also protect artificial nails or nail polish from the natural oils that may be secreted from the user's nails. Nail protection strip set 10 may feature body 102 that may be connected to a plurality of nail protection strips 106. At the point where nail protection strips 106 may be connected to body 102, there may be perforation 104. Perforation 104 may allow for each nail protection strip 106 to be easily separated from body 102 without the need for additional materials. Nail protection strip 106 may be made from materials such as 3M Medical's Tegaderm or a similar material including but not limited to other medical grade films ranging between 0.1 and 1 micron. These films may also have an adhesive on the side where the artificial nail is placed. Other embodiments of nail protection strip set 10 may allow for nail protection strip 106 to be made from a thicker transparent matte sticker. While FIG. 1 depicts perforation 104 as horizontal, it should be appreciated that the perforation may be in any form or shape that facilitate the separation process from the body, such as the vertical perforation depicted in the embodiments of FIGS. 5A-5B.

FIG. 2 depicts nail protection strip set 20 according to another embodiment of the present disclosure. Nail protection strip set 20 may allow a user to protect their nails from the glue or other adhesive that may be used when an artificial nail is placed on a natural nail. Nail protection strip set 20 may also protect artificial nails or nail polish from the natural oils from nails that may be secreted from the user's nails. Nail protection strip set 20 may feature body 202 that may be connected to a plurality of nail protection strips 206. At the point where nail protection strips 206 may be connected to body 202, there may be perforation 204. Perforation 204 may allow for each nail protection strip 206 to be easily separated from body 202 without the need for additional materials. In this embodiment of the present disclosure, perforation 204 may be formed around each nail strip to allow it to be removed from body 202. Nail protection strip 206 may be made from materials such as 3M Medical's Tegaderm or a similar material. Other embodiments of nail protection strip set 20 may allow for nail protection strip 206 to be made from a thicker transparent matte sticker. While FIG. 2 depicts perforation 204 as circumferential, it should be appreciated that the perforation may be in any form or shape that facilitate the separation process from the body (see, e.g., FIGS. 5A-5B).

FIG. 3 depicts front and back views of nail protection strip set 30 according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. A nail protection strip set 30 may allow a user to protect their nails from the glue or other adhesive that may be used when an artificial nail is placed on a natural nail. Nail protection strip set 30 may also protect artificial nails or nail polish from the natural oils that may be secreted from or around the user's nails. Nail protection strip set 30 may feature body 302 that may be connected to a plurality of nail protection strips 306. Each nail protection strip 306 may have clear protection material side 310. Protection material side 310 may be made from materials such as 3M Medical's Tegaderm, any thin wound or tattoo dressing, a thicker transparent matte sticker, and/or similar materials, or any other material used for the same purpose. Each material side 310 may also have cover side 308 that may protect the adhesive before it is applied to the nail. At the point where body 302 may connect to the plurality of nail protection strips 306, there may be perforation 304. Perforation 304 may be present to allow user to detach one of the plurality of nail protection strips 306 from nail protection strip set 30 without the use of any other materials. Perforation 304 may also be present around the outside of each of the plurality of nail protection strips 306 of nail protection strip set 30. This extra perforation may act as a guard when nail polish is being applied. The excess polish that has been caught on this outside edge may then be removed with perforation 304, like the use of painter's tape on a wall, which may allow a clean line of polish to be left on the nail.

Another embodiment of the present disclosure provides nail protection strips that may be attached to decorative artificial nails. The user may then be able to attach the protective strip and artificial nail all at one time. The decorative artificial nail may be attached to the protective strip using glue or another adhesive. The addition of a decorative artificial nail does not change the effectiveness or application process for the nail protection strips. The different embodiments depicted in FIG. 1 and FIG. 3 may be adjusted to also include the addition of decorative artificial nails to nail protection strips that may then be applied to nails.

FIG. 4 depicts a high-pressure clip according to an embodiment of the present disclosure. The clip may be placed on top of an artificial decorative nail to bond it fully with the nail protection strip that may be placed on the nail. This clip may be used as many users may not apply enough pressure by hand to fully bond the artificial decorative nail with the nail protection strip. In an embodiment of the present disclosure, a pressure of 15 psi to 60 psi may be applied to save the plurality of nail protection strips from fracture, de-formation, and/or bending. Alternatively, a pressure of 15 psi to 30 psi may be applied to save the plurality of nail protection strips from fracture, de-formation, and/or bending. The pressure exerted and used in the device in embodiments of the present disclosure should be 15-40 psi and more appropriately be 15-30 psi in order to save the film from fracture, de-formation, bending and so forth.
