1. Field of the Invention
The present invention is an article of clothing which warms and protects the wearer's neck, ears, face, and head from cold drafts of air.
1. Description of the Prior Art
Conventional garments, such as, coats, jackets, and sweaters do not properly insulate or protect a person's neck, ears, face, and head from the cold weather. Additional garments, such as, scarves, dickeys, and mufflers have to be used by a person to keep warm in cold days.
None of the conventional garments or garments listed as prior art comfortably and fashionably insulate and protect the wearer's neck, ears, face, and head as does the present invention.
The present invention is a tubular garment made of stretchable woven-material. The garment can be stretched and easily configured to warm the neck only; to warm the neck, ears, and face; or to warm the neck, ears, and head. The elasticity of the material used in the garment allows the wearer to effortlessly change configuration to suit the changing cold weather without removing the garment.
Additionally, the present invention is designed to convey a soft and comfortable look with decorative graphics to fashionably compliment other garments being worm by the wearer. The decorative appearance allows the garment to become an integral part of the wearer's outfit. Without such appearance, the present garment would look much like any other scarf, dickey, muffler, or any other garment listed as prior art rather than a fashionable part of the wearer's outfit.
Other garments that can serve to warm the neck and head can be found in U.S. Pat. Nos. 593,954, 746,586, 837,143, 866,752, 905,270, 1,016,214, 2,269,491, 2,346,918, 3,449,766, 3,479,667, 4,495,660, 4,718,123, and 6,397,403. However, none of these references provides a single fashionable garment that is tubular shaped and stretchable enough to easily change its configuration to insulate the head, ear, face, and/or head depending on the temperature.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide a garment which is simple and inexpensive to manufacture and which will provide the wearer insulation and protection from the cold weather.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a garment which can be easily put on and removed by the wearer without any cumbersome zippers or buttons.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a garment which can be quickly and easily configured to insulate the neck only; the neck and ears, or the neck, ears, face, and head. The wearer should be able to change the configuration of the garment while wearing it and without the need to remove the garment.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a garment that is fashionable, aesthetically pleasing, and compliments the other garments worn by the wearer so that it becomes an integral component of the overall outfit.
The present invention is an article of clothing designed to keep the wearer's neck, ears, face, and/or head warm during cold weather. The garment comprises a tubular body with an opening at both of its ends. The garment is made of a stretchable woven fabric that allows the wearer enough flexibility to change the manner in which the garment is being worn so that it may insulate more or less than its original configuration. Without removing the garment, the wearer can reconfigure the garment to insulate the neck only; neck, ears, and face; or neck, ears, and head. The garment is designed with decorative graphics and patterns to increase its aesthetic value by becoming an integral part of the wearer's overall wardrobe or outfit.
The accompanying drawings, which are incorporated herein and form part of the specification, illustrate various embodiments of the present invention and, together with the description, further serve to explain the principles of the invention and to enable a person skilled in the pertinent art to make and use the invention. In the drawings, like reference numbers indicate identical or functional similar elements. A more complete appreciation of the invention and many of the attendant advantages thereof will be readily obtained as the same becomes better understood by reference to the following detailed description when considered in connection with the accompanying drawings, wherein:
The present invention is a tubular garment 10 made of stretchable woven material. The garment can be stretched and easily configured to warm the neck only; to warm the neck, ears, and face; or to warm the neck, ears, and head. The elasticity of the material used in the garment allows the wearer to effortlessly change configuration to suit the changing cold weather.
The garment 10 is tubular in shape with a diameter between 15 cm. to 26 cm. and a length of 33 cm. to 45 cm. The tubular garment will be made by a single piece of fabric with two of its opposite side edges sewn or woven together to form a tubular shape. The top opening 4 of the garment will have a larger diameter than the bottom opening 5. The fabric used for the garment will be a stretchable woven fabric such as cashmere. The garment will have a single graphic 2 on the bottom portion of the outer side of the garment so that the graphic 2 is clearly displayed and positioned around the neck of the wearer. The graphic 2 can be a logo, a statement, a photo, a caricature, or any other artistic design.
As seen in
The stretchable fabric allows the head of the wearer to be passed through the garment until the bottom of the garment 5 rests on the shoulders of the wearer and completely insulates the neck of the wearer, as shown on
The stretchable fabric allows the wearer to reconfigure the garment to extend coverage to the ears and face by pulling up the top of the garment without the need to remove it. As seen in
The stretchable fabric allows the wearer to reconfigure the garment to extend coverage to the ears and head by pulling up the top of the garment 4 without the need to remove it. As seen in
The larger diameter on the top of the garment 4, allows the garment to be easily reconfigured to cover the head or face without the need to remove the garment. The smaller diameter on the bottom of the garment 5, allows the garment to be properly contoured around the neck of the wearer.
The graphic 2 on the bottom portion of the garment upgrades the garment from a conventional neck warmer to a fashionable piece of clothing that is an integral part of the wardrobe or outfit worn by the wearer. The graphic is on the bottom of the garment so that it is visible around the neck of the wearer so as to stand out fashionably with the rest of the outfit.
Therefore, although this invention has been described with a certain degree of detail, it is understood that the present disclosure has been made only by way of illustration and that numerous changes in the details of the construction and arrangement of parts may be resorted to without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention.
