Necktie hanger

Abstract

Necktie hanger with snap-on fastening clips. Necktie hanger body shaped as a parallelepiped, circle or any flat geometric shape, built in wood, plastics, aluminum or other material that is lightweight, decorative and suitable. Clips attached to the bottom face of the necktie hanger body, with the end thereof oriented such as to open to the exterior of same.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

It will be appreciated that the following description is intended to refer to specific examples of structure selected for illustration in the drawings and is not intended to define or limit the disclosure, other than in the appended claims.

My hanger employs snap-on fastening clips, allowing one to secure the neckties firmly and preventing the involuntary sliding thereof.

As shown in the Drawings, the body structure 10 of the hanger 12 can have the appearance of a parallelepipedal, circular or any other flat geometric shape. The top face 14 of the hanger 12 has a swinging hook 4 which allows the necktie hanger 12 to be hooked to a closet bar (similar to hanging a clothes hanger). The swinging hook 4 can be folded to rest against the body 10 of the necktie hanger 12, thus contributing to make the model portable, easy to store and wrap.

The body 10 can be built from any number of materials such as wood, plastics, metal or any other material that is lightweight, decorative and fit for these effects. On the bottom face 16 of the necktie hanger body 10, there are attached snap-on clips 18 with a spring 20, referred to generally as “alligator” clips, but having smooth, untoothed pincers 22,24. In the case of a hanger with the appearance of a parallelepiped, the clips 18 are installed in a substantially parallel and orderly fashion in a line substantially perpendicular to the necktie hanger body 10, all of the clips oriented in a same direction, to open toward a same side of the body, and with a space between each other being sufficient to easily place a necktie 30 in each clip without the neckties or the neighboring clips posing any difficulty or inconvenience. In the case where the body has a circular shape, the clips are installed in an orderly fashion radially with respect to the center of the necktie hanger body, all of them oriented in a direction toward the exterior of the circle to open in that same sense, and with a space between each other being sufficient to easily place a necktie in each clip without the neckties or the neighboring clips posing any difficulty or inconvenience. For a necktie hanger of any other geometric shape, a similar procedure is followed, seeking that the clips are positioned in an orderly fashion, all of them oriented toward the exterior of the side of the body wherein they are installed.

The part of the clips which holds the garment is lined with a fabric or other soft or cushioning material, preferably cushioned, to prevent pressure exerted on the garment from damaging or leaving marks on the necktie.

The width of the clips and the spacing between same determines the possible number of clips to be installed in the necktie hanger.

Thus, the hanger is very easy to manufacture and use.

Also, the use thereof requires a fixed installation on the part of the user, whereas the necktie hanger that I present does not need any installation whatsoever and is portable. My hanger is specifically designed for neckties, and the orderly storage of neckties that can be achieved is more practical than the design of other designs, since my necktie hanger has a horizontal order.

On the other side, the present necktie hanger has been conceived for storing several neckties together, according to the preference and needs of the user, and not in unit form as in the case of other designs.

In view of the foregoing, my necktie hanger is easy to manufacture (even by craftsmen, through the composition of parts and pieces available in the market, such as the various types of clips, pieces of timber, hooks and the like), and is very simple to handle by the user.

FIGS. 1 and 2 show that the dimensions and the parallelepipedal or circular appearance may vary according to the user's needs in terms of the available space as well as the necessary capacity in amount of neckties to be hung. A parallelepipedal body structure can have a minimum capacity of necktie units of 50% in respect of its length in centimeters (for example, a hanger 36 cm long can contain about 18 neckties, at the least).

Also as shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, the pin system of the top hook (4) allows the hook to rotate toward the body structure, leaving the total assembly as a flat piece, easy to wrap, carry and store.

Claims

1. A device for hanging neckties comprising: a body structure;a hook sized and shaped to engage a closet bar and movable; anda plurality of adaptable snap-on fastening clips sized and shaped to receive garments, but otherwise free of pins or hooks.

2. The device according to claim 1, wherein the clips exert sufficient clamping force to prevent involuntary sliding that could allow the garment to detach and fall from the hanger.

3. The device according to claim 1, wherein both the body and the fastening clips are indistinctly manufactured from wood, plastics, metal or other material.

4. The device according to claim 1, wherein pressure exerted by the fastening clips is regulated to be sufficient to press and hold a garment secure without pressure sufficient to damage the garment.

5. The device according to claim 1, wherein the fastening clips have flat, untoothed pincers, and pressure exerted on opposed pincers is with a spring such that ends of the pincers are in direct contact with the garment and are cushioned so not to damage or leave marks on the garment.

6. The device according to claim 1, comprising spaces which separate each of the clips sufficient to easily place a garment in each clips without the garments or adjacent clips interfering with one another.

7. The device according to claim 1, wherein the hook is swingable with a simple pin mechanism such that when the hook is rotated (lowered), it folds against a top face of the body, thereby making the hanger easy to store, wrap and carry.

8. The device according to claim 1, wherein the body structure is parallelpiped shaped.

9. The device according to claim 1, wherein the amount of neckties to be hung on the hanger depends on the width of the clips and the spacing between same; wherein the clips comprise pincers which are wide enough and have a smooth finish to retain garments without leaving marks or creases.

10. The device according to claim 1, wherein the body structure is circularly shaped.

11. The device according to claim 1, wherein the garments are neckties, straps, undergarments, hats, caps, shirts, pants, scarfs, or belts.
